Did the Giants even tryout Gould?

yankeeslover : 10/21/2016 10:17 am
I dont remember reading that he even tryed out.. I wonder if they brought him up do to his history.
Because of the urgency and time restraints
steve in ky : 10/21/2016 10:20 am : link
maybe they sent someone to look at him for a local (to him) tryout and he never made it to NY for one.
2 possibilities
old man : 10/21/2016 10:24 am : link
1. There was some lag time from info to team and disclosure to public, so they likely shopped around quickly and jetted him in, or,
2. He's the only veteran kicker with a passport, so it was Meet us at Heathrow(or wherever)!
We'll likely find out today.
well,

hopefully its like riding a bike...
I assume since he was only recently let go
steve in ky : 10/21/2016 10:29 am : link
he was staying in shape hoping/expecting a call from a team that finds itself in need.

Sure he may be a little rusty but it's not exactly like he has been laying on the couch for the past few years.

i thought

Gould was part of the group of kickers brought in before week 1 before they went with bullock

That makes better sense
If a passport was the only criterion,

it must have been a very interesting series of phone calls.

Didn't the Giants have kicker tryouts before Week 2? Maybe they also tried out Gould in a private tryout.

Hopefully, kicking won't be key to the game this week.
They had him kick the tires.....

No, Gould wasn't even released yet at that point.

Game winning kicks or kicks to keep season alive, 2015 NY Jets

Rather have Gould with game on line.
No, they didn't work him out.

from Ben McAdoo's Friday presser:
Quote:
Q: What’s your confidence level bringing Robbie in here?

A: I’ve seen him make a lot of kicks against me in the past. He’s been successful. We’re hoping that continues.

Q: Did you give him a workout?

A: No. He’s on his way here. We haven’t had the chance to work him out.
