I read this on Pro Football Talk. All I could do was shake
my damn head. How the hell can Mara say it like that!
Owner John Mara didn’t make things better yesterday, when he said that Brown: “admitted to us he’d abused his wife in the past. What’s a little unclear is the extent of that.”
If Brown is not gone next week, this organization is going
to look much worse than it already does!
I hate to have another Brown thread, but...
It's a disgusting quote, I mentioned it on another thread, and I will forever associate it with him, permanently superimposed on his forehead every time I see him. At best he's an idiot, at worst he is just straight up condoning some degree of domestic violence.
I hope you are talking about the owner when you say 'sick'.
On my end, nothing sick about it.

Zero leagalties for the Giants to cut a player, he is one
of 53+ players, do a little homework.
The original incident for which he was suspended for and which the Giants and NFL knew about occurred in 2015. If this was an isolated incident I can understand the Giants coming to his defense. But at the Pro Bowl in 2016 there was another incident of violent behavior which the Giants clearly knew about and chose to ignore. At that point Josh Brown should have been cut. IMHO this is another black mark against Resse. Between the Pro Bowl and the start of this season was plenty of time to find another competent place kicker. Instead the Giants waited until a league suspension is inevitable and are now scrambling to sign some scrub to do the kicking. I can't even blame Mara. His attempts at damage control are lame, but its not clear that he knew of the Pro Bowl incident or to what extent he knew of Brown's previous behavior. These are the decisions you pay a GM to make.

Please explain what you mean there. Us old people don't understand you kids.
What the hell is so funny?
And I think Mara, league, NFLPA, Brown/lawyer, are working on structuring a way out to put this away asap, and saving face for B,L,and,M.
The exempt list wasn't really relevant - he was suspended before the season had even begun.

Well, people are saying that he was "verbally abusing" her. That's a lot different than physical abuse. Because anything could be verbal abuse. You get in an argument and you say mean things that can be considered verbal abuse. If we're talking about physical abuse that's different. But nowadays everything is called abuse against women. Not necessarily hitting them. Saying mean things is also abuse.
