This fucking guy, after showing promise early has been a absolute nightmare. He can go up and catch it with the very best.. But does anyone else get afraid watching him after the catch? It's either going to look like he has an easy first and he falls down short, or he jumps up and lands on his head, or he turns it over. Dude is "THE WORST" giants receiver "AFTER THE CATCH" I've seen by far. His blocking is equally bad he totally whiffs and misses assignments blocking. Odell is 6 inches shorter, 50 pounds lighter and can block better than Larry. Tye and Adams Have been better so far despite neither of them really doing anything either but Donnell is really, really bad. CUT HIM before the 1pm games are over.. Please and thanks.
This.

But I do feel we are a better team when he is not on the field.
Yup, gotta dump him

It's time to move on.
Actually, Donnel isn' a horrible blocker, it is just that he tends to choose the wrong man to block.
It's time to move on.
+1000000000000
Running out of bounds before he got the 1st down to avoid contact was just shameful for any football player let alone a tight end. He should have been cut then.
He's a risk to the rest of the team out there, got to move on.
I agree. He is a net negative. Adams could not possibly be worse.
If last week's 3rd down bail out wasn't bad enough to keep Donnell on the bench, nothing will.
McAdoo doesn't want to use a roster spot on a FB. I thought people were joking about it last year but he actually stated he rather have two TEs sets with Tye as the H and Donnell as the receiver. I guess that was the role that Johnson was going to be. As I said that Johnson injury was a huge hit to this coach playbook.
Hell, Chris Cooley? lol
Even a fullback?
Donnell is a problem.
He should have been cut last week for his idiotic play. Now it's just mismanagement on the coaches and front office.

Well that's the thing, and I do think the reaction on this thread is a little harsh... though as I said above in my previous post, I agree that it's time to move on from him.
He has some skills. He's made some nice catches for us. He's a big target in the endzone (where you can't fumble!) and he does a good job finding soft spots in the zone and getting open around the marker. As a blocker, he's maybe a little below average but not a huge liability. I don't think he's "useless" as some have said.
But it's not just that he fumbles so much, it's that he continues to fumble in the same way... plowing into the ground head first and having no regard for the football. That to me shows he simply isn't going to improve and you just can not have a player out there who is going to continue to turn the ball over at such an an alarming rate.
If they insist on keeping him, I 100% agree with you. That's the only time he should see the field and it should be as a receiver only. I don't want to see him in pass pro in the red zone.
For the other team..
What exactly are the Giants hoping Larry Donnell becomes?
I know he made a great catch to beat SF last year.. I know he had that 3 TD game against Washington in 2014.. but what else is there aside from a billion failed hurdles, awkward falls, dropped passes, blown assignments and fumbles? He sucks.
He also doesn't get a turnover on every touch.
He is pretty awful overall though. I'd just use him in the redzone.
