FF Thread 10-24

How are you all doing? I am leading my PPR 121-81. He has Hopkins and Novack still to go tonight. He started Hyde and Smith who both did not play. I got Zero from the Bills def. If I hold him off I will move to 4-3.

In my 10 team standard I am ahead by 12 but he has both CJ Anderson and Hopkins. If I lose I will be 5-2 We both scored the most points this week and I should keep 1st based on points. I picked lost Ware when I had to pick up a rb when one of mine went down two weeks ago (I had Charles) But this week picked up Ajai who went off again!!!! I have 4 solid rbs in Charles (still have faith) Stewart, Ajai, L Murrary (who gets goal line touches and more of the committee touches) My wrs are solid in Julio and Evans with Fitz as a flex/backup. I am looking good going forward.
Picked up Ajayi this week.
LawrenceTaylor56 : 10/24/2016 7:40 am : link
Huge pickup for me.

I have a 20 point lead going into tonight. Opponent has Houstons defense. I'm hoping for a high scoring blowout by the Broncos
Had Ajayi on my bench
pjcas18 : 10/24/2016 8:22 am : link
and instead started Gillislee, also got a goose egg pretty much from Allen Robinson. But had good days from Brees, Hilton, D. Murray, and others, I'm up 30, he has Houston D. A win moves me to 4 - 3 and second place.

My other league I'm very Giants heavy and lost by 5. One TD by Eli or a couple more catches by Beckham. I'm 2 - 5 in that league and building for next year.
shit day but still alive
UConn4523 : 10/24/2016 8:34 am : link
down 13.5 with Anderson + Booker going vs his Denver D. Just hoping for a high scoring game and no defensive TD's.

Would be nice to get 150 combined yards with a TD.
I am in three leagues...
EricJ : 10/24/2016 8:39 am : link
Will finish with wins in all three after this past weekend taking me to 4-3 in two of them and 6-1 in another one with a two game lead on the rest of the teams. That last one is the most important to me. Although not a money league, we have a huge trophy that gets the winner's name added to it and you keep the trophy at your home for the following year. Take pics with it in places like the Stanley Cup.
Fortunately
Jonald : 10/24/2016 8:44 am : link
I had M Gordon, Ware and DJ going this week.

Unfortunately, I also started Alshon, ARob and the Bills D, so I dropped to 5-2.
I'm in need of serious help
beatrixkiddo : 10/24/2016 10:24 am : link
Unfortunately injuries have hit me hard, and being a 14 team league makes it especially tough. (PPR)

I lost Lacy for the season. Reed the week before, for who knows how long. And T. Coleman half way through the game on Sunday. My RB's are now Jennings, Duke Johnson, and Powell. I'm screwed.

WR's have all under performed with the exception of Green. I have Jordy and Maclin, both of who have turned invisible over the past couple weeks.

Only positive is I have Stafford and Rivers. There are teams desperate for QB's, I need to make a trade, but I really don't have much to improve. The Waiver wire is pretty dry, I have #2 priority with no one worth spending it on. Adams is available, but I fear he will be inconsistent with all the targets getting spread around, its already hurt me enough with Jordy. Mike Davis? Idk, guess I have to hope someone drops a good player through waivers. and I can grab them as a FA. I'm done with 14 team leagues, way too tough to rebound from injuries.
7-0
VenteSette : 10/24/2016 11:33 am : link
I am up by almost 40, he is done and I have Hopkins going tonight. He got nothing from Matt Jones, Desean Jackson, Jordy Nelson and OBJ. My team had a fairly standard week except for Melvin Gordon going off.

I rolled with Britt over Jordan Howard which was fine, but the mistake was in not picking up Jeremy Hill over either of them. I stuck with Britt because my team has gotten way RB heavy and I was hoping to hit on another WR.

Problem is, next week Britt is on a bye, (so safe to drop) while I have Ingram v. Seattle, Gordon at Denver, Stewart v. Arizona, Howard v. Minnesota and Ryan Mathews v. Dallas. The one back I have with a favorable matchup is Doug Martin who probably won't play against Oakland.

I will try to drop Cousins (who I streamed this week) for Hill against the Skins, but I doubt I will get him since I have the last waiver slot.
I'm having easily the worst FF year I've ever had
Sonic Youth : 10/24/2016 11:38 am : link
Since I started playing in 2004. Miserable.

I did pull off a pretty nice trade in a league though. Flipped Terrell Pryor for Christine Michael. A little worried about him losing carries once Rawls gets back, but I need another RB and already have Julio/Cooks/Demaryius... so pairing Michaels with my existing RB (Hyde) and the return of Eifert means I should, theoretically, have a decent starting lineup.

Bortles has been terrible and killing me. Winston and Eli were both on Waivers for some weird, bizarre reason, but I was unable to scoop them up in time.

I've got the first waiver claim and have been saving it but can't find anyone worth using it on.

Eli and Winston have been as bad as Bortles. In my league Eli has outscored the other 2 by 10, but he hasn't had the bye yet. Winston is my keeper QB and his main value is that you know when he is going to have a bad week, so you can stream somebody (I have used Hoyer, Cousins and Alex Smith). I actually won and was high overall week 2 when Jameis had 7 points. Who did you start on Bortles bye?

Winston has not been bad. I think he had one bad game. Otherwise, producing much more than Eli. I would drop Eli and keep Winston.

He doesn't have Eli, he has Bortles. He tried to get Eli and Winston, but was beaten out. In my ESPN standard league Winston is #17 QB averaging 19.1, Eli #15(he didn't have the bye yet) averaging 17.5 and Bortles #18 averaging 19.0. Winston was horrible week2, but 13 isn't too great for a QB either. The 7 extra points I got out of starting Cousins week 4 really helped me win. Hoyer outscored him by 10 week 5.
FWIW
VenteSette : 10/24/2016 1:04 pm : link
Bradford might not be a bad QB to take a run at. He already had the bye and is going to be going up against Chicago, Detroit and Washington the next 3 weeks. The QB vs. stat doesn't have Chicago or the Redskins too bad, but that is not exactly murderer's row.
Eli has 8 TDs
pjcas18 : 10/24/2016 1:06 pm : link
in 7 games. He's on pace for his lowest TD total of his career.

At this rate Eli being on waivers is no surprise, he's not a reliable fantasy football starter, he's at best a bye week fill-in/streaming option.

Someone clue me in, what has Rawls exactly done to prove he deserves to significantly cut into Michaels' carries?

Well, he definitely was better last year.

I agree, but I have more faith in Eli or Winston bouncing back than Bortles at this point.
they are hoping they get Rawls 2015
UConn4523 : 10/24/2016 1:52 pm : link
who you can argue was the best RB in football last year. Either way, dual backfields are the NFL now whether its for change of pace or managing reps.
Need this one bad, 3-3 against 2nd place 5-1
giantgiantfan : 10/24/2016 3:30 pm : link
This is my season IMO. So far scored the second most this week at 143 thanks to Doyle, Gordon, Evans, and Phillthy. Amazing considering some duds by Cooper, Michaels, and Robinson.

Up by 39 and he has Lamar Miller remaining against the Denver defense. I like my chances. Gotta drop Hopkins for another K and someone was dumb enough to drop Big Ben so hoping I can stash him on the bench and keep winning with Matt Ryan. I might sneak into the playoffs once Eifer and Martin can contribute...
Trade help
allstarjim : 10/24/2016 7:23 pm : link
Advice needed. 10 team league, standard scoring, KEEPER league (5 keepers).

My roster:

QBs: Eli, Mariota, Wentz
RBs: Freeman, Jordan Howard, D. Henry, D. Booker
WRs: OBJ, Allen Robinson, Corey Coleman, Sterling Shepard
TEs: Delanie Walker, Kyle Rudolph

Before you start, yes, I know I have 3 QBs and that's stupid. I just picked up Mariota because I was giving Eli one more chance and didn't want to compete for him on waivers this week and blow my priority. Obviously, RB has been a killer. I had Rawls and was counting on him to be a producer. I am 2-5 after this week and need to win out to have a realistic chance at playoffs. This is fairly unlikely. A suitor has approached me for Freeman. Here is the trade after some negotiation:

I give: Freeman, Mariota, and a third round pick (after keepers).

I get: Luck, Kelvin Benjamin, and his first rounder 2017 (after keepers).

I say after keepers because approximately the top 50 non-rookie players will be kept but there will still be some pretty great options.

He would also include Gillislee if I were to send Delanie Walker in the deal. Gillislee would basically be on my roster long enough to see what L. McCoy's status is and then would likely be dropped if it's not an injury that will keep him out.

I understand this would put me in dire straights at RB, but I'm willing to mix and match and see what happens with injuries. I also have the 2nd waiver priority so if a gem shakes loose I have a decent shot. I also know Luck is getting hit a lot and I don't want risk of injury to factor in the evaluation. I accept that, but having Luck to go forward with would be awesome, and I could potentially solve my RB issues quickly should D. Murray or CJ Anderson get injured, or via waivers.

Thoughts on the deal? Would you include Walker for Gillislee or no?

Going to win in both leagues....
arcarsenal : 10/24/2016 7:29 pm : link
Will be 6-1 in my main league and in sole possession of 1st place.. even without Reed and a goose egg from McCoy I managed a 160 point week.. my Julio/Evans tandem has been ridiculous and Forte picked a good week to pick up the slack.

My other team is kind of hanging by a thread and got a sort of lucky win against an opponent who had an awful week.. going to be 3-4 in that league. Charles has killed me.. wish I never drafted him. Lost Woodhead in Week 2.. my RB situation has been a mess all year. Every time I start Matt Jones he turns in a garbage performance.. I'm going to start using Chris Thompson in his place who seems to be good for about 10 points a week in PPR leagues.

Dropped Powell for Don Jackson last week which looks like a wasted move now.. Rawls is still a FA.. wondering if he's worth a stash. Someone also just dropped Corey Coleman. Might make a play for him if it sounds like he's going to get back before the season ends.
I have learned a few things over the years doing this..
EricJ : 10/24/2016 7:41 pm : link
1. Go into your draft with a plan
2. Believe in your plan after the draft. If you have no injuries, dont start dropping guys to pickup someone who went off last week.
3. Try to resist picking up guys on waivers and wait until they are free agents. You want to be up near the top when that BIG waiver opportunity comes up.
4. Did I say stick to the plan? There are guys who start to freak out when they begin losing and throw the deck chairs off of the titanic. I picked up LeSean McCoy, Antonio Brown and Mark Ingram in trades over the past 3 weeks....from guys who are trying to do anything to shake things up on their roster. Now, they have no shot.

Who are you giving advice to?
Advise is ok I guess. Food for thought. No one has to take it..
wgenesis123 : 10/25/2016 2:50 am : link
I missed my draft so I got stuck with what the computer picked for me in a 12 team league. I lead my league by a good margin in changes made and points scored. Also in wins. So I am in first. This week I grabbed Doyle and Ware who were each good for about 22 points. I grabbed them on advise here on BBI Fantasy threads. Advise can be good.
Advise is good
allstarjim : 10/25/2016 2:52 pm : link
It was a genuine question. I actually asked for opinions on my trade... I wasn't sure if Eric was responding to me or just commenting in general. Because if he was responding to me, I would've said I wasn't looking for overall, very general, fantasy advice. That's not very helpful to me, I've been playing a long time. I was looking for opinions on that trade (I made the trade sans the Walker/Gillislee component, btw). I also think his advice is ok but if you were to adhere to that strictly you would lose. You have to be nimble and sometimes aggressive in fantasy to win. There is no "one size fits all" advice in fantasy. Every situation is different, and as the weeks go by, you need to evaluate and determine best course of action for yourself. Sometimes it's to stick with the plan, sometimes it's better to abandon your plan if it turns out your plan was shitty, and move on to a new plan. Just my .02.
