It might be time to give Jerell Adams a look at Tight End. Increased Tight end production will contribute solving our troubles against the two deep zone. seems like since Mike Pope who coached Tight ends on all 4 Super Bowl winning Teams left for Dallas, we have struggled developing consistant production
I mean with learning the playbook, it seems BMac runs maybe 10 different plays throughout a game. How hard could it be to learn the one running play we run all game (Inside base draw from the shotgun)
Donnell's blocking IQ is just soooo impressive. Almost as good as his ball security abilities.
How could Jerell ever hope to match that ability ?
Most likely wont be a factor this season though baring injury.
Keep in mind: This was his ONLY TE gig before the Giants. - ( New Window )

I saw that also, how can you let a linebacker go right past you and run out to block a CB? Is he stupid or just afraid of contact? (Even if the CB is his assignment you can't let a tackler past you into the backfield!)
And by all indication he absolutely HATES contact of any kind, and will do virtually anything to avoid it. (Hell, CB'S hurt a lot less than LB's!)
Tye has decent speed for his size and build, and is strong. But he has mediocre hands and not much other athletic ability. Though at least makes a good effort on the plays I've been able to watch him.

Seems like he isn't the sharpest tool or else I think he would have been drafted much earlier in the draft. Good size and speed with the ability to block well. Those types of TE's are highly valued and don't grow on trees. Scouts saw something there to drop his value. Reese loves drafting talent over smarts especially on day 2.
I do think some name players won't be back next season, including possibly Jennings, Cruz, Donnell, and JPP. Nassib of course is also likely gone.

Gilbride coached the slot receivers and tight ends at Georgetown University in 2006.
Check out the 2006 Hoyas roster. Notice anything odd about the TEs? Keep in mind: This was his ONLY TE gig before the Giants. - ( New Window )
Hahahahahaha! That has to be a mistake, right? Good catch blogger...
