Giant players who can play TE or fullback.

We had two solid FB's at some point early in the summer I believe. Would never have thought we'd be this desperate by now.

I think Lorenzen would do a better job blocking than any of our rostered TE's.

He actually took two snaps there against Dallas. We haven't seen him in the backfield since then - possibly because the element of surprise is now gone, or because the staff didn't like the results. Anyway, I'm pretty sure he'll line up at FB before Herzlich.

Jones and Beatty are both reasonable options as a blocking TE in short yardage. Since the Giants currently dress three tight ends, the staff hasn't seen a need to use a lineman in that capacity.

Did anybody see Tennessee's first TD. It was a pass to Taylor Lewan.

The Giants tried that once with Beatty. He dropped an easy TD.

My point wasn't to say to throw him the ball. It was just that you can get creative and everything doesn't have to be a surprise although it could. Tennessee went with a double tight formation to the right. On the backside was Lewan and a receier. The receiver was off the ball making Lewan eligible.

He is in the Titans practice squad.

He also appeared to be coming along also, not only as a receiver, but as a decent blocking TE. Will Johnson is another guy we were going to rely on in that capacity, both as FB/HB or HB/TE and so injuries once again derailed some plans we had. At any rate, the offensive staff needs to get their collective heads out of their ass and look at a fix for the blocking issues. Not so sure we'll see vast improvement against a very tough Eagles Dline either!

but why didn't we resign Hynoski once Williams went down. The Hynocerous is still young (27) and knows the Giants and Eli inside and out. He was in good enough shape to compete during camp.

Anyone know why he has not been considered?

I've been wondering the same thing for a couple months now

I hope you aren't suggesting that Williams could have played FB!

FB and demote Donnell.

Any changes would be improvement.

I'd see a Giants team that didn't have the personnel to line up in the I.

I'd rather not play with a TE than to keep running Donnell out there. He's absolutely awful.

the giants bring in some vets this week for auditions, whether it's owen daniels, scott chandler, alex smith or anyone else. I realize that they are sitting at home for a reason, but I can't imagine they would be worse than LD in both the receiving, running, ball security, route assignment understanding and blocking aspects of the position.

Really come to this? Signing a fullback shouldn't be rocket science, but don't worry guys, we have no problem carrying 3 QBs!!

He could have had a better gig right now if he were interested/capable.

Remember that he had some injuries before he was released. Maybe he's content not playing. Maybe he's medically not great.

I've mentioned this a few times.. he was used as a blocking TE in the past. Not sure why we're not using him in that role now in some packages.
