One of my early Giants games

that I watched on TV was the game where a bloodied Tittle knelt in a battered and beaten way. There were no flags that game for roughing the passer. He was a warrior and I have loved the Giants and football ever since that game. Still doesn't seem that long ago....

dejected, alone sitting on the bench at Yankee Stadium. It was last game as a Giant, his last game as a professional football player. Happy Birthday, Y.A.

It is a testament to Tittle's greatness that he left such an indelible mark on the Giants franchise despite having such a brief tenure with them.

Also, some of his single-season team records still stand (36 TD passes for one), even though he played a 14-game season.

In an era where 15 TD passes was considered a good year..
I'm not a fan of seeing Tittle on his knees.

To me, these are iconic Tittle photos: on his feet, leading the offense.

I've told this story before but YAT

told me he and Jon Baker (responsible for bloodying him) became Friends and when Baker was running for Sheriff, YAT went down to campaign for him. In fact, Baker used that blood photo with the caption (paraphrasing): This is what can happen to you if you don't vote Jon Baker for Sheriff..
