I have the Carolina defense which has performed poorly. Right now I am not happy if I have to start this defense. Problem is there isn't much to pick up and right now I am using the Washington defense. Trying to decide whether to hold on to it or give up on it. What say you guys?
Cro Riddick Howard and Lewis. Trying to get Chris Thompson. I don't think I'd do the trade.
Team is 3-4 so I can't really afford to just waive the white flag on this week.
I'll be targeting the following waivers:
1. Big Ben - I'm sure only a waiver in my league, but I'll take injured Ben over Eli with Ryan as my current starter.
2. Devontae Booker - good bench guy in deep leagues and is probably only a CJ Anderson injury away from becoming a RB2 in all formats.
3. Mariota - seems to be a solid fantasy QB as of late to at least keep on your bench
4. Julius Thomas - I think he comes on strong down the stretch.
I only have room for one of the QBs in my list and Booker. I have a decision to make between Thomas and Eifert though. I currently have Doyle and will roll with him as starter for next week, but once Allen comes back I may drop him.
Any gems out there you know of?
Some context:
-we play in 0.5 ppr league
-I have WR depth (Julio Jones, Kelvin Benjamin, Steve Smith, Ty Montgomery & Corey Coleman in IR)
-my QB is Marcus Mariota
I'd lean towards Montgomery. I honestly think he will remain starter for the Packers. Lacy will be out awhile and Starks is not much of an option. Montgomery has done well in the 2 weeks he's gotten major playing time and he is a good player for that system.
Booker is great (I have him & Montgomery in my team) but he'll continue to share carries with CJ Anderson. He may have a higher ceiling, but unless Anderson is hurt, he will always be on and off.

Are you benching one of those guys each week? If so, then do it. Looks like a WR2 + Flex for a QB1. Who are your running backs?
Melvin Gordon @Den (any other opponent and he's RB2)
Allen Robinson @Ten (wtf is with this guy)
Tyler Eifert (too soon?)
Doug Martin (not sure if he even plays)
Rolling with these starters:
RB: Jacquizz Rodgers, Christine Michaels
WR: Mike Evans, Amari Cooper
TE: Jack Doyle
Flex: ???

Ty Montgomery or Booker? And is Knile Davis worth a roster spot?

I have no doubt Starks will be the lead back when healthy, he had a sneaky good 2015 and knows the offense. Likely protects better than the WR's as well. No one knew how Monty would be used either, so it was hard to gameplan for. I'm guessing that will change moving forward.

My RBs are CJ Anderson, Devontae Booker, Frank Gore and now Montgomery.
And yes, not accounting for bye weeks, I bench at least one of those guys each week with my current depth chart.

Yeah I'd do it, you can probably play waiver wire each week to match one of their productions. And you cannot trust Mariota. Nice bench guy, but he's had weeks where he's scored 4 and 8 points, then weeks where he's exploded. You'll feel more confident with Luck.
Fitz being "pissed off" isn't going to be why Marshall will be better. The competition the Jets will be seeing sucks.

I do really like Michael Thomas though, drafted him late, then dropped him immediately. I regret that given that Allen Robinson has been a bust, if I had kept him I'd have a trio of Evans/Cooper/Thomas.

I do like Thomas' potential in that NO offense, but you make a great point about having a reliable QB option (Luck is #2 in our league) and the fact that I do bench one of those guys weekly. Thanks for the feedback!

To me Baldwin is useless. Marshall should be better with Fitz back and "pissed off". If Riddick is ever going to get healthy no way I'd do it.

Maybe. Browns and Colts are the only two that stand out as awful pass defenses. Rest seem pretty good.

They also play the niners, fins twice (who hasn't really been stout against Pitsburgh without big ben for half the game), and Rams (who have only really shutdown Eli and Wilson). Pats have a good D but i'm not gonna bench marshall just cuz of malcolm butler.
QB: Rivers
WR: Julio
WR: Dez
WR: DeSean Jackson
RB: Ingram
RB: Latavius Murray
TE: Eifert
Flex: Jeremy Hill
Bench: Crowell
Bench: Theo Riddick
Bench: Gillislee
Bench: Flacco
Bench: Devante Parker
Bench: Jack Doyle
Bench: Humphries (took a flier on him, dropping)
I obviously lack much WR depth, half ppr league.
A team that has DeAndre Hopkins and Allen Robinson is trying to trade one for Ingram, which I'm not thrilled about unless he adds something, thoughts?
Also brief discussions about trading Crowell for Moncrief, would you do this?
Thanks!
This is where I disagree. His RB's aren't great but you can get away with starting Hill, and Riddick (if healthy) or Crowell, especially if its a PPR, while adding in Gilesse if McCoy is out here and there.
Again, its about perspective. How many other teams are fielding a better rotation of RB's? I'm guessing maybe a few at most, so I'd rather just make my team better which Hopkins would do since Dez is still a ? (even moreso if Romo is out another few weeks) and DeSean is very boom/bust.

49ers are the 8th ranked pass D, Miami 10. The Pats are one of those defenses I feel like gets better as the season goes on (if healthy). I'm not saying bench Marshall in any games, only that I don't see the Jets playing the Saints or Raiders every week. Fitzpatrick playing better will be just as much as reason if their offense is better as their schedule will be. One poster made the comment without looking at their schedule.

I should of also mentioned. I have James Starks stored away on my IR.
Would you rather do a big trade like that or more a crowell/moncrief swap?

I'm looking at how the defenses faired against WRs. SF is ranked 22nd against WRs in fantasy points, averaging about 11 catches, 150 yards and 2 TDs a game.
Miami ranks 26th against opposing WRs in fantasy. WRs averaged 13 catches, 160 yards and 1.5 TDs against them.
They might not have the most overall passing yards against them, but that's more based on teams not having to pass as much since neither of the 2 teams have been competitive. Considering Fitzpatrick has been targeting BM roughly 1 out of every 4 throws I think he has one of the most favorable outlooks the rest of the way.

I am pretty sure I know the Jets schedule as well as anyone here. I am a freaking Jets fan for the love of God! Funny thing is the Colts have a horrid pass D, but they are #5 against WRs probably because of Vontae Davis. It is a consideration of fantasy - overall D, pass D, which CB covers your guy and if the game will be a shootout or the team will be playing to kill clock.
But I think we are nitpicking at that point. I don't think anyone disagrees with Marshall as a high quality fantasy starter going forward. I can't think of anyone besides Enunwa that takes away targets from Bmarsh. I guess Jalen Marshall?

From what I have read Davis shadows. He certainly seemed to against Hopkins. Good thing the rest of my team had a good week.
I am pretty high on Robby Anderson to take some targets from Marshall, and maybe if Sefarian Jenkins ever plays he will get a few. Marshall should see more balls going his way than when Decker was around (actually probably the same number of targets because they will get less first downs and attempts).
Anderson has looked very good for an UDFA(think he was the preseason receiving leader-hurray!) but he is rail thin and has some trouble getting off the line and would benefit from a strong armed QB to hit him deep.
Jalin Marshall seems more like an underneath catch and run guy and has fumbling problems. The #7 Charon Peake has also looked okay, but none of them will eat into Marshall's looks. I would guess they will continue feeding Marshall and the backs.
Basically, they have some nice potential pieces, but I wouldn't be picking anybody up for fantasy just yet. OTOH, if I were trying to hit a lottery ticket on that team it would be Anderson. He had 7 points in my league last week (30 yard rush+40 receiving) and was getting around 6 targets per. I still threaten to pick him up, but I do that with Justin Blackmon too.
B Marshall
Crabtree
Concesnsus seems to ride Marshall/Fitz every week, but Crabtree has been great. Fitz/Marshall is what I think I need to roll with.
I'm 2-5 and have most points scored against me. I've played the week high scorer 2x and 2nd high once. I have most points scored in my division (12 team PPR)
My team:
Brees
Elliot
L. Murray
Fitz
B. Marshall/Crabtree
M. Bennett
Hauschka
Jets/Chiefs
Can't believe I'm 2-5. Need to go 5-1 to make playoffs.
Frustrating year.
I can either stash Rawls which may or may not help in 2-3 weeks.. I can put in a bid for Chris Thompson who has a pretty high PPR floor especially with Matt Jones not being able to stop fumbling. Or I could add Corey Coleman who was just dropped and I'd be very WR heavy (Julio, Evans, Marvin Jones, Snead, Smith Sr., Britt, Coleman) and I'd probably have to try and flip a WR for a RB.
I guess I could drop Britt for Coleman but I literally just spent like $15 of my budget on Britt so I don't want to just totally waste the money.
KaDeem Carey CHI
Rob Kelley WAS
Perkins NYG
Dwayne Washington. They need a runner between the tackles. He has promise. No competition. Good offense with a between the tackles guy could be a good situation. Not many others out there.
For
Ingram
I'm loaded with underperforming stud wr(dez, Hopkins, kelvin benjamin, Tate). So to me, I traded depth for a legit starting rb that had his bye already.
Then put in a claim for devonte Adams and Rawls. I think Rawls is one of those guys that can carry a team down the stretch. Adams was always supposed to be better, maybe last week was the breakout?
The skins aren't benching Jones, he will always have a role which limits the other two, imo.
We do have deep benches (8 person) so maybe that explains it, but neither has touched the waiver wire this year.
My best waiver pick up options this week are:
Jack Doyle juat waived Sunday before game time. With Moncrief, Dorsett, and Allen potentially returning not sure how many targets he continues to get.
Vernon Davis
Brandon LaFell
Cameron Brate
Alfred Blue
Adam Humphries
Marquise Lee
Peyton Barber
Cordarelle Patterson
Ka'Deem Carey
We don't need a TE, I think Carey is the only one I'd consider picking up. Anyone else worth a claim?
Also is Michael Thomas or Travis Benjamin worth starting over Matt Jones?
And also which TE is better down the stretch Hunter Henry or Julius Thomas? I have both
But yeah I think I'm going to put in a claim for Rawls. I should have just picked him up for free during the week.. of course now this is going to be the week where people put in bids and try to get him. Hope $11 is enough.
His target to return is week 9, he's running now but I wouldn't be surprised if he's back week 10-11 since Seattle wants him fully ready
Also is Michael Thomas or Travis Benjamin worth starting over Matt Jones?
And also which TE is better down the stretch Hunter Henry or Julius Thomas? I have both
I'd start Thomas over Jones, and Hunter Henry is in the concussion protocol, so keep an eye on that.
I hate benching my QB because of matchups, but Fitz vs CLE should be a good matchup
So I'm starting:
Wentz
Derrick Henry/TJ Yeldon
Kendall Wright/Michael Thomas
Jordan Howard
Kelce
Sturgis
Buffalo
it's literally the worst team I can ever remember fielding
good thing is I have zero bye issues the rest of the way, but I'm looking to trade Gurley and Beckham.
No. You get maybe another week or 2 out of Montgomery who's not even RB eligible in certain leagues (he isn't for Yahoo! nor should he be). Moncrief is the best player of the 3 and should help you in the back half of the year.
What he said. Plus, Moncrief is back practicing. With Dorsett hurt, he may be getting serious targets sooner rather than later.
SEA @ NO
GB @ ATL
TEN vs JAX
DET @ HOU
NYJ @ CLE
SD @ DEN
SEA is on my roster. All road D's except TEN.
Jets may be playing a 3rd string QB, their front 7 should feast.
Well, welcome to the ARob weekly kick yourself in the nuts club. If this guy doesnt score a TD, he killed your team in a given week. Some of it is Bortles regression, but ARob has really fucking sucked this year.
