I have the Carolina defense which has performed poorly. Right now I am not happy if I have to start this defense. Problem is there isn't much to pick up and right now I am using the Washington defense. Trying to decide whether to hold on to it or give up on it. What say you guys?

Hard to say without knowing
UConn4523 : 10/25/2016 7:33 am : link
who's available. You can stream week to week. But I think Carolina bounces back, too many good players not to.
Their secondary is atrocious.
GiantGolfer : 10/25/2016 7:36 am : link
I'd stream defenses from here on out. There's always good matchups on the waiver wire week to week.
I went into lastnight
UConn4523 : 10/25/2016 7:46 am : link
down 13 against Denver D still having Anderson and Booker. Glad I made that decision, they got me 31 points. They have a good schedule coming up and they look like they will try and run 30+ times per game. I'll probably stick with the duo for the next few weeks.

Ingram for Allen Robinson.

Team before trade
Wilson

Non ppr. Only bad thing I think is Bell on a bye this week.

He might not now, but it's much easier to get him for free now then it is after he takes a bigger role and starts producing (if he ever does of course).

no point in picking up Perkins this week. I'm considering adding him next week though I wouldn't waste any of your FAAB on him or a valuable waiver position.

Haha, that team doesn't even look good on paper unless its a standard 14 team league. Especially considering Bell missed 3 weeks.
I have one competitive team left
pjcas18 : 10/25/2016 8:47 am : link
(of my two), the keeper league team isn't very good, and that's fine, I'm building for 2017.

My good team, while only 4 -3 , has a 50 point lead in total points, and we have a regular season prize for total point leader (money back), and I should make the playoffs, so I'm focusing on that team mostly.

Only real weakness is RB (non-PPR).

QB: Brees/Carr
RB: McCoy, D. Murray, Ajayi, Gillislee, A. Foster (will be dropped)
WR: Hilton, M. Jones, A. Robinson, Dez, T. Montgomery
TE: Graham
D/ST: Seattle
K: Vinatieri

I need to drop A. Foster and pick up a RB. Best waiver options are:

Booker
Jennings
Dion Lewis
Forsett
Thompson
Carey
P. barber
A. Blue

Which RB would you pick up? I like Booker, but I feel like Lewis is a hate to use the cliche "lottery ticket" type back if he comes back and knocks James White from the lineup. But, word is now that Lewis may not even come back from PUP and this league has small benches.
how is RB a weakness
giants#1 : 10/25/2016 8:53 am : link
with McCoy/Murray?

I'd go Booker. Don't see the Giants running game improving anytime soon, Barber doesn't get to play the 49ers again (and Martin should be back soon, no?), Forsett sucks.

Denver would run 35-40 times per game if they given the chance.
I would pick up Jennings if you dont need a rb this week

It's a weakness because McCoy is now in the GTD mode with his hamstring and probably will remain that way all season. Sunday I started Gillislee and got 2.5 points. With Ajayi on my bench. Between Gillislee and Allen Robinson I was fortunate to pull out a win.

I've been touting Carey for a couple weeks. Howard doesn't really do it for me, Carey is flat out playing better and they trust him the most, IMO. I'll probably put in a claim for him this week as I couldn't fit him on my roster last week.

Reports are Baltimore wanting to give Dixon more touches. He's a potential late season lottery ticket. It was against the Jets front 7 but West had a putrid game. Could be perfect timing to grab Dixon, i'm glad I held on to him.
Booker is a must own
UConn4523 : 10/25/2016 9:01 am : link
and I'm starting him until proven otherwise. Assuming they keep games close or play with the lead, Booker is probably good for 12+ touches and Anderson 15+. If they go up big, it will likely be Booker getting the 4th quarter carries to grind out the game. He's also a good pass catcher.
I think Howard
VenteSette : 10/25/2016 9:09 am : link
is going to be hitting the waiver wire again. I picked him up and got 3 good weeks. I sat him last week against the Pack and will either sit him or cut him this week against Minnesota. Then he has the bye. IMO he isn't really in play until week 10, and then maybe week 13. Since I don't expect him to have success, I expect the Chicago backfield picture to get more muddied.

Regarding defenses
VenteSette : 10/25/2016 9:20 am : link
Just stream. Matchup is super important. So is the scoring. It isn't necessarily the best D that you want, it is one that gets turnovers and sacks. You aren't going to see many shutouts or 50 point games and that is the only time points against effects scoring in my league.

If you are dying to have a D to hold, keep an eye on the waiver wire. Somebody else will be streaming and dump a team you like. I started the season drafting the Bills in our last round and then streamed a couple of weeks. Somebody else fell in love with a matchup and I ended up with the Cards. Unfortunately, the Bills have been outplaying the Cards this year, but the Cards make me more comfortable.
Would you accept this trade offer?
MadPlaid : 10/25/2016 9:27 am : link
I get Dion Lewis, RB, for the Eagles D.

Dion is out for now on the PUP and could return to active status in the next couple weeks. He is also keepable for an 8th round pick next year. The Eagles have been a very productive D for me this year.

What do you think?
its probably worth taking a chance
UConn4523 : 10/25/2016 9:30 am : link
Eagles D has been good but you have to think they will waver a bit, and you can also stream their replacement. Eagles next 6 games are against offenses that can score points as well.

The 8th rounder keeper option is an added bonus.
I read Lewis
pjcas18 : 10/25/2016 9:33 am : link
can't even practice yet (physically). I think the Patriots only have two+ more weeks and then need to either activate Lewis off PUP or he stays there all year.

I'd probably do the trade since I don't think the Eagles D/ST return TD's as sustainable, but I don't know Lewis will be back this year and if he's not I don't know how your keepers work, but I'm not so sure he'd be an attractive keeper missing a season and a half.

Thank you, UConn and pj
MadPlaid : 10/25/2016 9:49 am : link
I really appreciate the feedback. I haven't read anything specific on Dion's current status other than that the Patriots aren't in a hurry to activate him. Blount and White have been playing very well, so they can afford to play it conservatively with Lewis. They can wait until after their week 9 bye to bring him back. Still, he's coming off a serious injury, and like Jamal Charles, could be ineffectual on his return.

In my league, I am allowed to keep 3 players who have keepable status. Currently, I have Spencer Ware, Jerick McKinnon, Stefon Diggs and Andy Dalton who are keepable. Adding Dion would just increase my options, and to keep him, I would only have to sacrifice my 7th round pick. I was mistaken. I lose an earlier pick if he is traded to me.
i'd do it
UConn4523 : 10/25/2016 9:56 am : link
worst case scenario is he doesn't play and it was a trade that didn't work out. I don't think Eagles defense is good enough to make or break your fantasy season, but that's a question better answered by you (knowing your standings, tendencies of the other managers, etc). In other words, I think there's little downside since you may be dropping the Eagles defense anyway (they play Dallas, New York, Atlanta, Seattle, Green Bay, and Cincy). I'm willing to bet atleast 2-3 of those games you wouldn't want to use them.
I was offered
giantsfan44ab : 10/25/2016 9:57 am : link
To get Freeman and Baldwin for Riddick Edelman and Marshall. I desperately need a RB as I'm starting Crowell and Howard (with Riddick out) but at the same time Marshall is 8th in targets, Fitzpatrick will continue to start with smith out, and he plays Cleveland, Miami twice and SF. Freeman has to play Arizona, GB, philly, and KC.

My current WRs are Evans, Marshall, Crabtree, Dez and Edelman
My current RBs are Crowell, Riddick, Howard, Lewis and yeldon.

Any help would be appreciated. I started 3-0 and now I am 4-3 and I don't want to make any rash decisions.
Thanks, UConn
MadPlaid : 10/25/2016 10:00 am : link
you helped me to make up my mind. You are right. A few of those upcoming matchups aren't ideal for the Eagles D. I would be looking for alternatives.

I have not had a very good season thus far and am sitting at 2-5. Not looking good to finish in the money this year. Looking to the future is probably the wise move from here on out.

Best of luck to you.

Didn't Coleman leave the game on Sunday due to injury?
I'd try selling high on the Eagles D
giants#1 : 10/25/2016 10:10 am : link
They're currently the #2 DST in my league, but they haven't exactly faced offensive juggernauts this season:
CLE
CHI
PIT
DET
WAS
MIN

Outside of the Giants (and BAL), they don't really face any bad offenses the rest of the way (DALx2, ATL, SEA, GB, CIN, WAS). They've also been somewhat lucky with 3 DST TDs (unpredictable) and have recovered a ridiculous 7 out of 8 forced fumbles (average is ~50% recovery rate). For comparisons sake, the Giants have recovered only 1 out of 5 FFs.
I'm in trouble at RB
beatrixkiddo : 10/25/2016 10:11 am : link
would you trade Rivers for Booker straight up?

Someone dropped Rawls, should i use my #2 claim on him and hope he returns as the starter at some point. Its full PPR, Not much available on waivers. Could take a stab at Dixon or Perkins, but both have a bye week and my only playable RB's this week are Duke Johnson and Powell, as I lost Lacy, Jennings is on Bye and Coleman is injured.

That is rough. Value-wise, I don't do that trade, but your RB situation is pretty rough. UConn and some of these guys seem high on Booker, so I may make a claim on him in my league. Rawls is probably out at least another 2 weeks, so he isn't going to give any help short term.

YUP 1-6. Worst season ever. Nothing worked out as planned.
I wouldn't panic when it comes to RB
UConn4523 : 10/25/2016 11:12 am : link
so many situations are going to continue to arise. Its a position that's constantly injured. Who's you other QB? I don't think valuewise its all that great but Booker is 1 injury away from being a potential top 5 RB, so there's definitely upside. His touches are also pretty damn solid we a weekly FLEX or RB2.

In a full PPR Johnson and Powell isn't all that bad (depend on the rest of your roster of course).

I'd look into Thompson if he's available. Matt Jones continues to fumble and sooner or later they are going to flat out bench him. I'm kicking myself for not picking him up this week.
Am I crazy for considering this trade?

To me Baldwin is useless. Marshall should be better with Fitz back and "pissed off". If Riddick is ever going to get healthy no way I'd do it.

otherwise you're trading Marshall and Edelman for Freeman.

If you're desperate for RB and have the WR depth do it, but I probably would not do it.

I'd try and get Edelman out of the trade and get Baldwin out too. I'd do Marshall and Riddick for Freeman and see if he bites.

My other QB is Stafford.

I proposed two trades: Rivers and Davis for Booker and Gillisslee, and Rivers and Davis for Booker and Moncrief. I could cancel one of them, but my WR's have also been underperforming.

My Team: PPR

QB: Stafford/Rivers
WR: Green, Jordy, Maclin, Humphries
RB: Lacy (DONE), Coleman (INJ), Jennings (Bye), Powell, and Duke Johnson
TE: Davis, Fiedorowicz, Reed
K: McManus

Really? So are you high on Edelman still? He's been a dud for me. He's getting targets and catches too but very little yards and TDs so I think it's more than just came flow that's hurt him. I'd rather have Baldwin than Edelman. My issue was Marshall's upcoming schedule vs Freeman's upcoming schedule. I think Marshall may outscore Freeman the rest of the way.

Like Gronk, Edelman is getting closer to fully healthy. And with Brady fully back to speed I view Edelman as having a high floor (in ppr leagues). Like Jarvis Landry.

Marshall I'm torn on I'd only trade him if you are desperate at RB. If you wanted to swap Edelman and Marshall I would feel the same, propose it with one, but not both.

I think Edelman, Marshall, and Riddick is too much for Freeman.
I also agree
UConn4523 : 10/25/2016 11:43 am : link
that's way too much to give up for Freeman. What are your existing RB's? I tend to think people overstate how bad their RB situation is, since many other teams are in the same boat as you are. There's only 1 or 2 teams in my 12 team league that have good options at the 2 RB positions. The other 10 are constantly mixing and matching, myself included.

Cro Riddick Howard and Lewis. Trying to get Chris Thompson. I don't think I'd do the trade.

Trying to figure out if I should drop two of Coates, Powell or Starks (whom I was stashing)... I guess I could drop Doyle too because I have Olsen but I was considering flexing him if Allen is out again because he's getting a lot of targets.

Team is 3-4 so I can't really afford to just waive the white flag on this week.
Who should I pick up
Miami_JintsFan : 10/25/2016 11:58 am : link
Ty Montgomery or Booker? And is Knile Davis worth a roster spot?
i'd drop Coates
UConn4523 : 10/25/2016 12:01 pm : link
longterm i'm easily taking Booker over Ty Montgomery. Knile Davis isn't worth much, Starks should be back in a few weeks and it will be a rotation at RB for the Packers. I'd avoid that backfield for the most part until Starks returns.
Yeah I don't think Davis has any value at this point.
arcarsenal : 10/25/2016 12:05 pm : link
They're going to keep mixing Montgomery and Cobb into the backfield until Starks is back and Jackson might still get snaps if he's not hurt.
Who are you targeting on the waiver wire?
giantgiantfan : 10/25/2016 12:39 pm : link
I got a big win this week over 2nd place 5-1 team, beat him 143 - 113. Feels great, sitting in 6th place, in a 4 way tie for 3/4 record wise. On a roll now.

I'll be targeting the following waivers:

1. Big Ben - I'm sure only a waiver in my league, but I'll take injured Ben over Eli with Ryan as my current starter.

2. Devontae Booker - good bench guy in deep leagues and is probably only a CJ Anderson injury away from becoming a RB2 in all formats.

3. Mariota - seems to be a solid fantasy QB as of late to at least keep on your bench

4. Julius Thomas - I think he comes on strong down the stretch.

I only have room for one of the QBs in my list and Booker. I have a decision to make between Thomas and Eifert though. I currently have Doyle and will roll with him as starter for next week, but once Allen comes back I may drop him.

Any gems out there you know of?
