1) I don't think Tye has been a disappointment. I think he has contributed decently. However, their commitment to Donnell as the #1 TE has been a disappointment. I think he needs to be dropped to #3 and let Tye and Adams get more shots their way.
2) The last couple of games Vernon and JPP got swapped during the game for long stretches, so starting out with them swapped is no surprise.
I will say, some here are a little overly critical of Vernon due to lack of sacks, calling him a waste of money. I wouldn't go that far, as he has been stout against the run. the last few years, the Giants have had trouble setting the edge. This year, he has helped change that. However, the bottom line is he was brought in to get to the QB. While his pressure has improved the last two weeks, his pass rush has still left a lot to be desired thus far. Hopefully, his wrist heals with the bye and this front has a strong second half.
Lets hope we get this offense going not only is Philly
always a problem and we could play them fairly even
and get burned on special teams . They have a very
good return game .

One game does not make a trend. Two games is the beginning of a trend. It looks like they have decided to flop them, possibly for good.
Vernon was a major factor on the pass rush throughout the game.
The don't have a back as good as Bradshaw or Jacobs. None of their backs can run wide, so the opposing defense knows it will be between the tackles and can stack up there. They not only know where they will be running but also when: on 1st and 10 three out of four series. And when they don't run the ball up the middle on first down, then they'll do it on second down.
As Eric says, the strength of the offense is its downfield passing game. Brady doesn't need a running game to move his team.
Eli's strength is throwing deep. Let the receiver's make some plays and draw some flags.
Any chance we will see a bye week editorial from you on the status of the team thru 7 games? Always enjoy reading your thoughts on the team.
Also...are you doing any podcasts or radio interviews?

I'm editing an excellent article by Larry on the 1979-85 Giants now... that's my next to-do list item. No podcasts set up right now.
Looking forward to Larry's article. They are always very well written and enjoyable to read.

Yup, I did mention that Vernon was a factor on the pass rush throughout the game.

Last few years, the Giants have been killed defensively on the outside. It's probably a big part of the improvement against the run.
