Insert Jerrel Adams as starter at TE and live and die with him. Can he possibly contribute less than our starters? Consider Donnelly as a red zone specialist as he and Eli have had some nice connections there in the past.
Decide your best o-line and start it and stay with it. It probably means Beatty at LT - Flowers at RT. We have to hope that Flowers is only a bust at LT. There are many large college LTs that just did not have the flex and movement skills to stay there in the NFL. Andre Smith comes immediately to mind.
Have McAdoo recognize that he is not some offensive genius. It is quite obvious he is not. He still has a chance to be a great HC.
Adams hasn't played a ton, but he's played a fair amount mostly when Donnell was out. Coaches should have enough tape to at least see if he warrants a larger role (if he's just as poor blocking, why make a change?).
I'd like (and expect) to see Perkins get an increased role. He's looked better, in my non-expert opinion, than the other RBs, though Jennings certainly helps in pass protection (compare the last 2 games vs the 3 he missed). I'd have no problem giving Rainey's snaps to Perkins.
So? Let them double Donnell or shade the D that way. That means more space for Cruz/Shepard (obviously Ds aren't leaving Beckham for Donnell).
Though I doubt anyone's really worried about Donnell.
I for one think the OL should stay as is. Hart has been competent, and the more time they get together as a unit the better.
Moving Flowers out of the lineup or to RT is an experiment that can't be conducted at this time.
Beatty is the backup LT. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Newhouse may even be a better LT now than Beatty who hasn't played in almost 2 years.
So if you think that this is just about coming together, well maybe. I have nothing against Flowers as an LT, if he can actually play the position in the NFL, rather than just in a Giants scout's pipe dream. You can substitute Hart's name for Flower's in my comment.
With Solari taking over the OL, Hart had an opportunity to win the job in camp. He made such a great impression that Newhouse remained the starter and the Giants re-signed Will Beatty as a depth upgrade. It's somewhat encouraging that Hart got the nod over a rusty Beatty, but I don't see much evidence that either of them has surpassed Newhouse.
At RB, I would be inclined to stick with Jennings. I think he'll play with more confidence when he has two working hands. With Vereen out for at least another month, there's plenty for Perkins to do in that role, gradually replacing Rainey.
This offense stinks. The numbers they put up because of Beckham the last 2 years has masked the fact that the play calling, formations used, personnel groupings are all too predictable. Its not all execution. Furthermore, Macadoo has taken a lot of his offense fundamentals from Green Bay. Was it the excellence of the offense there or a Hall of Fame level QB in Rogers? Fair question. If he really is the right head coach for this team, he will get his head out of his a** and stop putting round pegs in square holes (Donnell for example).
and for the record, I'm not impressed with Solari. Zone blocking hasn't worked wonders has it?
Somehow--someway we have to figure this out. When someone above says Flowers has had 2 good games--WTF He doesn't move anyone and at best he protects Eli what 75% of the time!
Another issue could be our backs...the only one that hits the hole is Perkin's. The others seem twinkle toe into the ass's of our O line like they know the outcome before they even get the ball. It can't get any worse by changing this up.
Especially in the run game most are adequate in pass
protection except both tackles are below average .
With No Fullback and not a TE on the roster who can
block consistently or at all .
Then I think the best possible way is to switch
Flowers over to RT and let Beatty start providing
Newhouse is still not ready ...
Philly has good pass rushers across the board and add to
that one of the best DT in the game . Flowers has troubles
with speed rushers . If Beatty can hold the fort down on
the left side then maybe we can keep philly from totally
ignoring the run and just go after Eli .
Hopefully the play calling gets a long hard look and
gets Eli under Center rather than shotgun all the time
it should help disguise the play calls better .
Get LD off the field and let Adams take more snaps and
utilize him in the middle of field .
Not sure why Darqua got benched but rather see Perkins
at this point the problem is he isn't use to carrying
the full load yet so have to keep Jennings in and use
a two back set from time to time.
I would love to have Joe Thomas. I know the coach said it wouldn't happen, but who knows what the GM thinks. At his age I wouldn't want a straight up trade, but I would offer our 2017 3rd and 5th round picks along with a 3 in 2018 if we could get Thomas and WR-Terrelle Pryor away from them.
Cruz and Shepard are both good slot guys and I do like the rest of the unit, but the tallest guy we have is King at 6-1... Eli has always done well throwing a big receiver open. I believe that he & Pryor (a former QB) could form a deadly red-zone tandem. He just recently committed to being a WR and at 27 he could really be turning into a great one.
I would like for the offense to go back to 2Wr sets with Odell & Pryor (when he's ready) starting. Beatty would start at LT until Thomas was ready to take over. Flowers would compete with Hart & Newhouse at RT. The back-up tackles and guards would be used in a variety of ways as extra blockers. Perkins and Adams should be starting from here on out unless we get really crazy and try to trade a couple of mid round picks to the ailing 49ers for TE-Vance McDonald and RB-Carlos Hyde. I might go this way as a package deal if we wanted to reunite Solari with T-Joe Staley instead of Thomas, just not my preference.
We need to see less of #91 on defense. I would cut him, bring back Jasper Brinkley, and hope that Goodson is about ready to get in there and take the job for good. It is just a matter of time until he does. Trading for a good MLB & FS would always be smart in my book.
...and last, but not least ( I know I'll get killed again for this one, but...) I would love to trade for Snacks' buddy, Jet DE/DT-Mohamed Wilkerson. The Jets play a 3-4 and can't afford to keep all of their DE's with Sheldon Richardson and Leonard Williams. They never got an offer during the draft because they wanted too much, but if we could secure him it would change this defense dramatically. Hankins and Bromley aren't much better at this point than Kuhn & Jenkins were last year. MW could start at RDT and sub. anywhere along the D-line. The guy is a beast. He's been banged up in that 3-4 without Snacks to take the double teams away. The two of the with JPP & Vernon in our 4-3 would be like a dream come true for the Giants and Wilkerson.
I know we won't make many if any trades, but with Eli turning 40 in a few years it would be great to take advantage of the little bit of time we have left with him. When he is gone we might have to wait another 20 or 30 years to get someone just as good.
I would like to see Perkins get an opportunity as the primary back. I feel like we know what Jennings is: a high floor/low ceiling guy that is a fine backup.

Rainey makes me uneasy. He's a nice-looking player who seems to make too many costly mistakes for a veteran. Nonetheless, I have no strong conviction about whether Perkins's extra touches after the bye should come primarily from Jennings or Rainey. I think he will eat into both. Jennings is something of a fixture in the starting lineup until Perkins proves himself to the coaches in pass protection.
If the ground game picks up, there should be plenty of work to go around - with the proviso that they will all play less if/when Vereen returns.
