Let's Go!!!
+++
I'm battling mixed emotions. Definitely want the road win tonight and to ruin Bron-Bron's party. (Best night for me would be Knicks/Cubs wins.) But also realize it's a long damn haul.
Hoping for 45-plus wins. I'd view that as a very solid season, especially if they went into the playoffs with decent health (and especially that of the main rotation guys).
Can I even dare to wish for a few bench surprises and a better-than-expected contribution there?
There's still time to dream, and that's exactly what I plan to do.
Let's beat the dreaded Cavaliers!!!
I do think that KP will not get off as many shots as he should, but overall will have a season that leaves us speculating that he is a future MVP.

As long as his efficiency continues to improve I will take it even if he has as many or even less ppg as last year. I'm mostly excited to see his development on defense. He looks a tad bit stronger and is probably better conditioned. Lee, KP and Noah can be the pieces of a top 10 defense.
Just hoping we don't get blown out tonight.
Nothing is etched in stone. The Knicks have a pretty good and talented roster with upside. Let's see how things shake out. People act like they know Noah and Rose will miss half the season and other teams are free of the injury risk.
Joakim Noah on being at Cav's ring night:
"Congratlations to Cleveland, ev en though it's not a vacation spot."
bahahahahahahahaha
On the other hand, I think the bench is potentially a major weakness and Rose/Noah are obviously huge question marks. And even if everyone is healthy, these pieces simply might not fit together.
If they have decent injury luck, I say 47 wins.

tonight should be fun, rose and noah hate lebron..
jennings and shumpert absokutely hate each other...
i am sure noah and thompson will get into it a couple of times...
knicks actually match up well with cavs on paper but i still dont expect a win tonight but i do expect a battle
I guess one positive of bringing in battle-tested vets is that they're not going to shrink in a big game. Whether or not we're good enough to actually play in big games is the question.
Yes.
No.
Yes.
Its their own pick so,no conditions on it.
they have their pick no matter what
To be fair, that was going to be the case whether or not Noah said anything.
LET'S GO!!!
NYK: 98
CLE: 93
Porzingod 27 points, 16 rebounds, 5 blocks in the opener
Jennings 4/5 from downtown 21 points 9 assist
1- What is the coaching philosophy? Triangle or up-tempo. Seems to be a hybrid so far but we've heard that before...
2- Chemistry. Only 5 of 15 players were on the team last year I think and a new head coach. Will take some time to gel. Furthermore is Rose a good fit next to Melo as both of them are high volume scorers (I think they'll be fine personally but who knows).
3- Bench. Not as big of a fan as most of the people here. I like Jennings, Holiday, and Lance a lot. Hernangomez and O'Quinn are interesting but extremely unproven though. Ndour and Plumlee shouldn't be counted on. If Noah or Porzingis get hurt that position becomes a mess.
4- Health. We all know about Rose and Noah but Melo and Jennings have had a few injuries past two years as well so something to monitor.
Well I think anyone would haha. But I hardly see how those are mutually exclusive. A big jump in KP's development alone would've been optimism for a playoff run aside from getting Rose, Jennings lee and Noah. They might need time to mesh but the players the Knicks were trottting out last year compared to this year is night and day.
Knicks gotta play with more composure.
Very sloppy.
Separately, I can't believe I'm listening to Marv Albert. I was listening to him do Knick games on radio literally 50 years ago.
Gotta have some starters on the floor.
teams out of whack but hey its game 1
I know Rose & Noah aren't going to play a ton of minutes right away, but the rotation has to be tweaked a bit... when the Cavs start the quarter with LeBron & Kyrie, the Knicks can't have 5 bench players on the floor.
O'Quinn has really come in and stank it up in game 1
