Obviously nothing trumps the Cubs storyline. But I think overall Chicago fans don't have it so bad. Cleveland winning in 2 sports after like 45+ years would be something. Just want a competitive series.

He's only going to be asked to get 6 at most. He's really not their closer, they use him in whatever spot they feel is the most important in the game. Allen will close tonight. I love the way Francona uses him. Yankees should use Betances like that.

I think Bentances is suited for it too. He seemed to struggle in the closer role. I like him as the utility guy a la Miller in Cleveland. Francona is underrated btw.

The NBA regular season is by far the worst of any sport in my opinion. It's pretty much meaningless. The teams who have a shot to win the title are never going to be in danger of missing the playoffs. At least in baseball the regular season is meaningful, even as the 2nd wild card you have a legit shot to win the world series.

Baseball is a fun grind. Bad teams can get streaky. Many kinds of novel plays can happen on any given day. Basketball seems a much more predetermined sport.
but it's more just middling as opposed to bad and (obviously) much, much shorter.
But baseball has lower lows and higher highs, which is why I'm saying the divide is so stark, way more than other other sport IMV. 162 just feels like such an unbearable endless slog, but these bases loaded playoff moments with elite pitchers are just edge of your seat excellent.

It was like that often with the Yankees too. Gives up some dink and dunks but somehow gets out of it in 20 pitches with no runs scored.
