B J Goodson

NJLCO : 10/25/2016 10:08 pm
Any updates on this kid? Is he playing at all on special teams or not even suiting up?
Will he make any impact this season?
I thought pre-season he played well and is a young talent at the MLB position or inside LB position
He is holding Will Beatty's hand.

Someone has to keep the bench warm.

struggled in coverage in the preseason. Robinson and Casillas have been doing well in that department.

Can't be any worse than invisible man Kelvin Sheppard.

Because you really don't have enough interest to follow the team, we have to endure another crappy thread.
Kelvin Sheppard looks good

in coverage. He's good underneath, gets around, makes plays in the passing D.
Yeah,

I can't understand why every draft pick isn't starting...
He might turn out to be a good player

But we still need talent up grade at the over position. All three are below average. Keenan Robi son is the best of the bunch.
He's rookie

He's not going to supplant Robinson/Casillas as the nickel/dime backs. Robinson's been great and Casillas has been good (tackling has been shaky lately).

And Kennard's been arguably the best LB against the run when they're in the base D.

So the only spot where he has a chance to get on the field is MLB in the base D. And we're only in base D ~50% of the time (much less against some teams), so there aren't a lot of snaps to give him.

^This. He's a fourth round pick. Give it time.
I don't mind him not starting

but I want him to take Sheppard's snaps. He's awful. Through 7 games he has 6 (SIX!) solo tackles. Thompson has 6 and hasn't played since week 2. Justin Pugh has 4 for crying out loud. I get it--I'm not a coach, I'm not on the roster, I'm not a part of the organization, etc. but I'm not buying Goodson isn't capable of averaging a solo tackle per game if given the same amount of snaps. If not, he shouldn't be in the NFL, just as Sheppard shouldn't be.

Not only that, but Sheppard has more snaps than Kennard too and he's top 5 on the team in total tackles. This has to be addressed during the bye.
LOL Are you kidding me

The Guy is a waste of roster space ..He has made like
2-3 plays none of which were astonishing
The Invisible man ha 6 Solo Tackles and 2 Passes Defended
in 7 games ..
By comparison Darian Thompson has 6 Solo Tackles in 2 games .
The only time I see Sheppard is celebrating a teammates
play or in no mans land where he is chasing or watching
the defensive line play .. He is totally useless .

You beat Me to it .

and thats a compliment ..
Yea the only

case I can see for him starting is over Sheppard. Robinson, Casillas, and Kennard are all playing fairly well
