We have three straight weeks of home games
Philadelphia (4-2)
Cincinnati (3-4)
Chicago (1-6)
Then we have two on the road in the AFC North
Cleveland (0-7)
Pittsburgh (4-3)
Then our final two home games of the season
Dallas (5-1)
Detroit (4-3)
Finishing with two division games on the road
Philadelphia (4-2)
Washington (4-3)
I think we beat Philadelphia next Sunday, can't wait to see our guys get after Wentz. Eagles are still suspect in the secondary, Beckham, Cruz, Shepard and Eli better be on their A game and take advantage.

Giants have to show they can beat teams with winning records......Yes, they beat Dallas, by one second, with a qb playing his first game in the NFL....but until they do it consistently, they will just be a middle of the pack team....
This game is a confidence builder for the rest of the season, followed by 3 games with teams with a losing record.....games they have to win....and if this team starts beating teams they should beat, they have a shot at the playoffs....
Scoring offense is 22nd in the league and scoring defense is 10th.
So what is holding them back? I think most assume lack of a running game is holding back the potential of the offense, and I would agree. They are last in the league in rushing yards per game. What makes this particularly troubling is that this offense for the most part looks to take what the defense gives them. That means that the 3.3 yards per carry average is despite favorable fronts.
The team's top rusher currently is Shane Vereen, the 3rd down back who's been out a few weeks, and oh, yeah, is averaging a full 2 yards a carry more than Jennings (4.7 to 2.7).
I think there are some obvious things they need to do, but I'm not going to get into that now. Let's see what they do with the bye week. The HC keeps saying all things will be evaluated, let's see if he really means this.
They have the roughest schedule remaining.
I like how it isn't that they've handed dallas their only loss, at home, in a game that the Giants had never beaten them for a season opener.
Instead it is extreme luck - by one second - against a rookie QB, etc.
Funny, when we lose by a second, don't you usually rant that we need to take a hard look at the coach, the GM and the players and then dissect all the minutia to pin blame?

Since that one is on the books now, do you think the Giants can beat them right now with the current offensive play?
People make it sound like we are looking at a terrible offense and one that can't do anything. The lack of a running game is worrisome, but in this system, it is de-emphasized.
We can beat any team in the division.
The flip side is that any team in the division can beat us, too.

I truly believe our O will right itself eventually. They are more talented now than at any time in the last 2 years, when Eli and the offense thrived. To me, McAdoo needs to hand over the offense to Sullivan, including playcalling. I feel, as the HC, he is gameplanning and calling plays not to lose. The offense, for example, was implemented to counter the weak running game and poor pass protection. And it successfully did just that for 2 years. Now, with better WRs we are taking that concept to the extreme by mostly dumping the ball. There is no creativity and no rhyme or reason to how we try to establish the running game. They keep calling the same few plays. that is fine when nobody is stopping you. When they constantly get stuffed, you need to try new things. Where is the misdirection? More motion of TEs and WRs? Bunch formations? TE in the backfield as a lead blocker?
For me, it wasn't so much that we lost to Minny and Green Bay, but how we lost. We looked completely outlcassed, which I don't think is the case on paper. But, the one loss that will haunt them is Washington. They gave that game away to an inferior team in the division and conference.
Would be nice, but I just don't see us sweeping the rest of the division games. It'll probably be 2-2 vs. 4-0.
