How much has Owa play Sunday?

superspynyg : 10/26/2016 9:10 am
I don't think I saw him. Has he been getting playing time?
Hes in there
lester : 10/26/2016 9:20 am : link
but just invisible....he was in during the Collins pick six.
Eleven defensive snaps. Nineteen total. One tackle.

Okwara seemed to take some of his reps, but it's hard to be sure of the packages.
Most of the times I've noticed him he's inside
jcn56 : 10/26/2016 9:22 am : link
Granted, I can count on my fingers the number of times I've specifically paid attention to him this season.

Has he had many reps at end?
Doesn't
SickBoy : 10/26/2016 9:23 am : link
Really matter, terrible, terrible football player

He's barely played in what's essentially his rookie year. If you've figured out that much, you're clairvoyant. Stop with the nonsense and pump out some lotto numbers.
It doesn't
SickBoy : 10/26/2016 9:29 am : link
Take a very larg sample size to see this guy is just another one of those picks that will any around the roster/rotation until his rookie contract expires then go bye bye ...

Coming out of UCLA he was not a complete football player, does not have the inate football know how ... was a bit of a gamble pick ...

Have you watched him this season ? Terrible technique, no push and no real football instinct, and just another guy out there

Gotta wonder who the hell scouts these guys
One may have nothing to do with the other
Giants2012 : 10/26/2016 9:36 am : link
yet Jessie Armstead did close to nothing his first three seasons.
They definately have nothing to do
SickBoy : 10/26/2016 9:40 am : link
With each other ... Jesse was a special teams demon his 1st few seasons and played in all sub packages from his rookie season on ... you could easily see he had something and was special ...

Owa was a gamble pick, 3rd round be it ... who scouted this guy and thought he was a good football player ?

Just about every NFL draft publication, most of whom had him rated RD 1/2?

I notice Okwara much more than Owa.
Everybody
AcidTest : 10/26/2016 9:59 am : link
here loved Owa when he was picked, including me. He came from a 3-4, but was better suited to a 4-3. He slipped because of injury concerns. Some teams apparently took him off their boards for that reason. But everybody thought he could play if he stayed healthy. Then he lost his rookie season to another injury. So he has no playing experience, and is still adjusting to the NFL. Give it some time. Remember also that the Giants wanted Strong or Lockett, but the Texans and Seahawks traded up in front of them for those players.
I saw him during one play
Jay on the Island : 10/26/2016 10:05 am : link
lined up against the LT and he beat him off the snap and got pressure on Keenum but Keenum quickly got rid of the ball.
He's played 96 snaps this season
sjnyfan : 10/26/2016 10:22 am : link
Or about 14 a game. Third among the DE's but a distant third. Vernon is second with 479.

I
that should say
sjnyfan : 10/26/2016 10:23 am : link
It's clear the team doesn't trust the DE's behind OV and JPP but I don't think it's sustainable.
no matter what OV does from here on out
djm : 10/26/2016 10:25 am : link
the Giants need to add DL talent in the off-season.
I haven't noticed him...
Johnny5 : 10/26/2016 10:57 am : link
... bad or good. But based on the fact of how poorly our offense has been able to sustain drives, they are going to have to start rotating in other DL or our defensive players are not going to last the year.
We are probably going to run Vernon and JPP into the ground
Patrick77 : 10/26/2016 10:58 am : link
That speaks volumes about the depth at DE.
He did commit another mindless personal foul penalty
The_Boss : 10/26/2016 11:31 am : link
and when the camera showed him on the sideline, he wasn't getting an earful from any coaches. Perhaps that happened earlier before the camera focused on him, but if it did not, then the lack of discipline on the team is concerning.

As for performance, he (like Bromley) looks like another 3rd round JAG and someone who will be on someone else's roster after the expiration of his rookie deal.
Excuses
Bluesbreaker : 10/26/2016 11:39 am : link
for Jerry Reece is the mantra around here ....
Owa built like Tarzan plays like Jane ...
Bromeley seems to be getting better .
Kennard is getting back to form but were still thin at DE

Yeah, other than the three picks (one for a TD), 2 FF, 3.5 sacks, and >100 tackles. He didn't do much.
OO creates more pressure
Doomster : 10/26/2016 5:41 pm : link
up the middle on passing downs than Bromley does...

He has played RDE in 3rd and longs. So he has some value as an end.
There is talent in this draft at DE
DavidinBMNY : 10/26/2016 10:02 pm : link
DL is much stronger then OL this year. You can almost bet the giants will draft 1.

Iowa had that late hit vs.the ravens. Really bad play, they had to win that game twice as a result.

That said I think JPP and Owa want to be on the field. They are making tons of money. JPP wants more money and Peas wants to earn his keep.

I like Okwara a lot. For everyone complaining about Pea those same scouts identified Okwara.

Let's give Owa some more time.
