Is that the Rangers look fantastic, Girardi is playing good hockey if you fucking cry babies could stop whining for a second and watch the game without your fucking I am right ego's at work for once.
This team is playing great, and for all you haters this coach has won more games since the 2006 season then any other coach in the game. Has 2 Stanley Cup appearances, and has 3 Presidents Cups, I know no Stanley Cup yet, but I think this guy is right on the cusp of one with this team.
We have added Pirri, Grabner, Vesey, Buchnevich, and Zibanejad at forward, and Clendening, and Holden on defense, all who are playing well, and all you hear is bitching and complaining. from the same ones. Watch the game and enjoy the product, this is a very exciting team and Vesey, Buchnevich, and Zibanejad look to be special players.
Think how well Jeff Gorton has done this off season without much cap flexibility at all.
I'm not going to bother talking about Girardi anymore because it's a moot point, but Clendening belongs on ice and Holden belongs in a suit during games.
this offseason. The forward depth is fantastic and AV should get some credit (if we're gonna rip him for the D) for trusting some of this kids and empowering them to utilize their talent in the best ways
I think it should be Holden's time to sit. Tough night for him, Clendening deserves to get back in. And frankly, other than McD, none of the other defenseman are head and shoulders above the rest. Nobody should be sitting for an extended period.
The defense is suspect, but they have in house options they need to play before going to the market.
If you think Holden and Girardi need to be in the lineup at all times over Clendening and McIlrath, then I would like to roll you a fat doobie, light it and tell you that you're wrong.
It's not hating on the former to expect development over a long season of the latter.
Yes, Seth, I enjoyed this win. Still need to think about the way this roster is deployed to see how they can deal from strength come trade deadline.
Ive been late on this development, but I thought that while he made some mistakes last year, he is a big tough guy who can skate and has decent skill. Am I missing something? He reminded me of Michael Sauer pre injury. He is being mentioned in trades and yet it seems we have a D or two that are not as promising as he is. Holden for example. What am I missing. I dont follow the farm nearly as much as some of you guys but I saw thus guy as maybe being Girardi's heir as team badass.
Sorry if this is an old convo, but I would hate to lose his game. While tough guys dont have as much of a role, this guy has skill. Would love our own version of Brent Seabrooke to go with some of our other youth.
They've been trying to deal him for a month but no one is interested ... Or they are just waiting for him to be put on waivers. I saw enough positive last year that if he were exposed I'd pounce personally.
Hopefully - all respect to jooris - but they were probably cutting or demoting mcilraith this weekend when Buch came back.... Now not so sure what happens with jooris out a while.
Hayes looks like a different player. One of the the announcers apparently agrees, commenting that he may be the most improved player in the NHL
The weight he lost has made a huge difference. Not sure if it's changed his top speed, but you can see it in his change of direction and his burst. It makes it easier to see that he's back checking hard, committed to being a two-way C, and not "lazy" as he'd been labeled previously (which I think was at least partially due to his previously below average skating/acceleration)
He's also made huge strides at the dots, and now even takes a bunch of DZ draws. We all shit on the importance of faceoffs (myself included), and to a great extent it's justified, but it sure is nice not to be getting dominated in that facet.
RE: How do they possibly remind you of the Penguins

Yes, I answered you in the other thread you asked. Ancient history.
Greg - They look better than I thought they would look. I only skimmed the pre-game portion of this thread, but saw Clendening's name mentioned...they need to get him back in the lineup. Why isn't Klein on the top line?
Vesey!!!!!!!!!
Vesey is just really good at do things great goal scorers need to do. Sounds silly to say, but it's not easy to do.
Honestly, he's 35 or 40 goal capable. Just a knack for the net. Maybe a little worse depending on his shot which we havent seen a ton of.

Awesome. what do you guys think his ceiling is?

Ceiling? Pretty damn high. He looks like he'll be a 50 point player in short order.
No need. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Don't back down, but no need to to hunting. Rangers have no hunters anyhow

Must say Pirri is looking like the free-agent signing of the offseason so far (excludes superstars who signed with their original teams of course)

I've said it before, you could put two empty jerseys on a line with Crosby and they'd become 60 point players.
The Rangers have skill guys but their system and their personnel are nothing like the Penguins.

Like how Blair McDonald scored 46 goals on Gretzky's wing, just three years before he landed back in the A.
So fun to watch.
So fun to watch.
