I am in a three way tie for best record in my league at 5-2. I have a 78 point advantage so I am in first place. The other two teams are husband and wife with the husband being the commish and my cousin. They just tried to make a trade of Allen Hurns and Devonte Freeman for Antonio Brown and Duke Johnson. Someone vetoed the trade, not sure who that is. Is this a fair trade in your opinion and is it fair for husband and wife to make trades? The league for the most part is all cousins and in laws.
We have a husband and wife in my league, 3rd year now, and they've never traded.
but I wouldn't veto almost any trade unless I knew there was obvious collusion.
Not sure how anyone can evaluate a trade with at least minimal info.
Number of teams, scoring PPR?, roster sizes.
Is it assumed it's a 10 team standard league?
We had a guy in my league trade David Johnson and Tavon Austin for Latavius Murray and Stefon Diggs.
I thought that was a worse trade than the one in your league.
I am 7-0 and up 3 games on the next team. I have the most points and have had the most overall 4 or 5 weeks. The thing that scares me most is that my "points against" is like 30 points less than the next closest team and around 100 less than the 2nd lowest. That can't keep up. I think I am going to steamroll into the playoffs and my luck will run out. It's just a fun league, but we spend a bunch of time taunting and I do like to taunt.
What should I be doing to prepare for the playoffs? I am starting to look matchups, but not making any changes yet. I have a pretty big cushion and I have only had one of the weaker teams on my schedule.
Do you get a point or half point for catches?
PPR = Points per Reception
Do your players accumulate points for every catch?

Start doing 2 a days and prep for the cold weather!
And one thing this season has taught me is matchups are a crapshoot. Some really bad defenses in what should have been shootouts just haven't happened. The product and quality is among the worst i've ever seen it.

No wonder I have been so good at it! Funny thing is that I have been held Moncrief, Josh Gordon and Doug Martin for most of the year.
I'm having a solid year. 2nd place at 5-2 but i'll lose this week for sure, just too many BYE's to overcome. I've made some really great moves this year (drafting Graham last round, picking up Booker a couple weeks back, and picking some good streaming options at RB) but i've also done some things I wish I can take back (thought Tevin Coleman was drafted but it was really Corey Coleman and I missed him late, wasted waiver priority on guys I cut the same week, not going with my gut and taking Julio Jones over Beckham for fear of Matt Ryan sucking all over again).
Non PPR:
Duke Johnson is worthless, Allen Hurns isn't much better Marquis Lee is the best WR in that offense at this point.
. Freeman will have a tough go running the ball against GB this week but gets Tampa next week, then Philly. If Coleman is out more than this week Freeman will be a great play next week
Brown was getting the love from Landry last week, rumor is Ben will practice next week and be back in week 9. Both Freeman and Brown have byes coming up.
The trade favors whomever gets A Brown, he is the best player in fantasy and carries the most TD potential as well as yards gained. I'd have to be loaded at WR and desperate at RB to make this trade but IMO it shouldn't be vetoed.
Lol, of course you do ( after I just finished typing)
Give me a minute here...
No, Lee has been lining up outside with Hurns in the slot often. It's varied. Jax is a mess on offense. Lee has become the most reliable WR with Robinson's drops and Hurn's inability to get open. At this point, I would play Lee over both Robinson and Hurns in PPR leagues.
In one league I have the most points for by over 50 and the 3rd most points against, and I'm 4 - 3.
I've had it work the other way too where I have mediocre points for but very low points against and I'm in first place.
Back in 2012 I had the greatest team in fantasy football. Peyton was just coming back from the neck injury and I got him really late and it's a keeper league so I got some good late round keepers and I just drafted really well. I know fantasy football stories from other people are about as interesting as people telling you about their painful poker beats, but my team was (PPR, 6pt per passing TD and we had bonuses for 100 yds rush/rec and 300 yards passing, as well as for things like 40 yd TD's, 80 yd TD's and 10 receptions, 30 completions, 25 carries, etc.):
QB: Peyton/Cam Newton
RB: Adrian Peterson, Doug Martin, Willis McGahee, Alfred Morris (picked him up opening day at 12:50 when he was named the starter)
WR: Jimmy Graham (no TE), Dez Bryant, Brandon Marshall, Victor Cruz, Jeremy Maclin, Anquan Boldin, Percy Harvin
D/ST Pitt
K: Tucker
It's probably hard for people to remember 2012, but that is a monster team. I lost week 1 by 1 point and then won 12 straight I won almost every week by 100 points.
Week 1 of the playoffs the team I played had one of those Eli/Beckham weeks (I forget who the players were, maybe Rodgers and someone) like we just had against the Ravens and had other guys go off and I just got outscored in the first week of the playoffs. I was crushed.
I am sure other people have similar stories, but just to show you nothing I could have done, luck is luck.
I trade: Ezekiel Elliot-Demariyus Thomas
I get: Julio Jones-Melvin Gordon
No flex and can only start 2 backs/3 WR. I already have Ingram, Spencer Ware, and now Booker who looks to be in line to get a ton of work with CJ out.
WR for me is pretty week with Jordy and Demariyus making up my 1-2.
Am I crazy for trading Zeke?
bandwagon?
Johnson gets a small bump up in PPR but no one knows who's going to play QB. Could be McGown, Kessler or Logan. Cleveland has no symmetry, they are adlib and tough to predict. outside of Pryor and Crowell I wouldn't trust anyone on that offense.
Hurns is getting 4 catches per game, he's only got 1 TD, as mentioned Jax is a mess, if you want to guess Hurns improves it would be pure speculation.
Freeman is a good RB to have, especially in PPR but how long is Coleman going to be out? Could be 1 week, could be 4. You have to remember last year when Atlanta started out fast and then lost 6 or 7 games because defenses figured out Kyle Shanahan's zone blocking schemes. I'd put a ceiling on Freeman even without Coleman splitting touches.
Brown is the man. A monster in PPR. The best player to have in fantasy. Last year when Ben got hurt, Brown was ignored, not last week. I wouldn't give him up for anyone.
I don't believe in vetoes but I wouldn't give up Brown for Freeman.
bandwagon?
I took over a team in a 12 team, PPR, 5 player keeper league. I had Robinson as a 6th rd keeper. I tried to trade him for Matt Jones straight up ( Jones being a 10th rd keeper in a start 3 RB, no flex league) and was turned down flat. I'm stuck with him on my bench. I'll start Cole Beasley over him going forward. If I can get one good game out of him I could move him, maybe but he sucks and it ain't just Bortles, he's got to lead the league in drops, he looks like Rueben Randle out there.
According to unofficial stats A-rob has 2 drops. Beckham has 4 (for reference)
Brandon Marshall leads the league with 6.
It's not an official stat though.
I am kind of off Howard. I think his run is over and he will be a spotty play going forward. Can't see ever starting him again with Gordon/Ingram/Stewart/Mathews/Booker/Doug Martin.
I just offered Howard to a friend for scraps. I owe the guy one. He traded me Ingram for Floyd. He had cut Ingram and I asked if he was nuts. He beat me on the waiver claim and got Ingram back and flipped him to me.

No question Bortles wants to throw to him, he gets high volume targets.
I don't know what constitutes a drop in stats but he was targeted 15 times against GB and dropped at least 4 of them. He dropped a TD against Indianapolis. He dropped a 20 yard gain against Oakland last week. It may be that if a defender is in close proximity it doesn't count as a drop but they were all catchable balls.
I don't trust him but if you want to buy low based on volume alone with the potential he remembers he's a top WR soon, I wouldn't fault you. I'm hoping someone makes me an offer for him.
Then again, sometimes the best trades are the ones you don't make.
I'm benching Robinson tonight for Beasley and starting Marquis Lee tonight in OBJ's spot. I may regret it but I've lost all patience with him. If I'm going to guess on anyone tonight against Tenn., it'll be Chris Ivory scoring a couple TDs.
Not sure but i think our daily threads provide just as much, if not more insight on a daily basis. He's been right/wrong just as much as any of us.
Some of the stuff is mundane, but as you know UConn, it's all about the research, then you make your own decisions.
The more info you have, the better decisions you make.
The regulars on these threads cover just about everything needed for the week.
I prefer IDP leagues and spend most of my time looking for defensive match ups, like TJ Ward playing 70% of his snaps in the box and who's Ryan Shazier's backup when the knee acts up, so I come here to see who you guys like or don't like weekly.
The Guru's got nothing on you guys...
Haha, I have 6 guys questionable in my starting lineup. So many teams on BYE this week, its an FU to fantasy players.
Gillislee got me very few points.
Now I dropped Gillislee b/c I figure McCoy wasn't as hurt as last week he'll play, now I hear McCoy might miss multiple weeks.
WTF.
I'm not planning to start McCoy this week, but still sucks having game time decisions, if that's what he becomes.

Same boat - I own McCoy AND Theo Riddick.
At least Forte has a juicy matchup and Powell has turf toe so it looks like he's in store for another big week.
I got offered Terrance West and Gillislee for Marvin Jones but I didn't really like that deal. Jones is a top 10 WR right now.. Gillislee only has value for as long as McCoy is out and I don't know how much I really trust West long-term.
CBS Sports released a statement that they would leave that decision to their individual leagues to decide and gave Commish's instructions on how to move Ty to RB in lineups.

Gillislee is questionable as well with a bad foot.
Reggie Bush resurrection anyone?
