Normally I avoid Isles threads, for the last few years, but MiLB seems to insist I pay a visit...you can thank him for referring me!
Sorry, I think there was a miscommunication. My bad if I wasn't clear. This thread, and all hockey threads, and all threads are much better without your presence. You have a right to post here, of course, and I won't ask you to leave. That has nothing to do with you being a Penguin fan because as we all know you most certainly are not. It's just the simple and unfortunate fact that there's nothing we can do about you being here.
But I'll be clear. I don't want you to pay a visit. I strongly prefer you do not post here. You're not liked.

Sounds like you do since you can't go a day without mentioning me....I sense a little "projection" in your post as most people feel that way about your posts (I know I can do without them).
Tell ya what...you ignore me, don't mention me, and I'll do likewise...but if you keep trying to provoke...
Hudson. You're embarrassing yourself. Take a breather.
but its hard to shake the feeling that this team has major problems
I mostly agree, but I do think we'll see things get better once Ladd gets going (and he will).
1 point now in 7 games. He's replacing a guy who's good for 3 points every 4 games, so he has to get going or we are in trouble.
Yep. Regardless of the what the point production ends up being, my eyes tell me that Ladd is nowhere near the complete player that Okposo is. This was not a wash.
While I feel they will send Barzal down I don't feel he got the same chance as Tito due to his position. It's a little unfair imo. If they are going to send him down just do it already.
To me the system is stale and just makes scoring so hard for this team unless the D consistently pinches. I almost prefer the old system Cappy ran. Can Leddy carry the puck up more often as well? Good things happen almost every time he does. As much as I love the neutral zone turnover by our forwards....
As much as I love the neutral zone turnover by our forwards....
This does seem to be a staple of the offense this year, as well as turning and stick handling at the blue line on all entries. Someone needs to tell Cappy the blue line isn't like the line of scrimmage in football, and there is no need to have everyone stop for one second before crossing.
This team will get rolling eventually, but I have no confidence it will start tonight.
I'm being rational(ish). The Ducks started off wayyy worse than this last year and fell a point short of winning the division. The Habs were 10-0 last year and weren't even contending for a playoff birth come end-of-February.
The Flyers were done and made the dance.
The Penguins were mediocre AF and won the whole damn thing.
Plenty of time left, and we've been competitive. But these are just devastating losses. As bad as they get for this stage of the season. A players-only meeting might be needed right now. Everyone needs to calm the fuck down and get back to basics. There's plenty of talent on this hockey team.

Except those teams had talent and were expected by most to compete; most people thought the Isles took a step back in the off season...but that infers the person has the capability to "think" Mike.

The Isles can't beat the Pens because that bitch Lemeiux will cry.."they don't play nice. Waaaah. I am taking my toys and going home "
The only things more nauseating than their crybaby team is that whiney bitch Lemeiux and their bitches of fans.
It's telling that I root for the Rangers when they play the Pens. At least the Rangers weren't handed lottery picks to appease their owner.
Isles clean house and move strome, Bailey and either brick or lee. Go with Barzal, JHS, da Colle, beauvillier etc. Give these kids the next 3-4 years to grow in the NHL without them looking over their shoulder. Most of them after 3/4 years will be lower to mid 20s.
You sell JT on this idea with JT knowing that these kids mentioned above can play with JT. Currently there is no one outside of maybe beauvillier that can hang with JT. If JT does. It buy it then he is gonna leave because you cant field this current squad over and over.
The other option is still moving Bailey, strome and company and finding a sense if line mate for JT. Top free agents.
I can go on as to why the organization is simply spinning wheels here but we can address that later.
that night but I thought the skaters outplayed Pitt in their own building on the second end of a back to back and were let down by goaltending. That's a good thing, but the team needs points and losing all of these games in regulation when they were tied late in the 3rd has been a disaster.
The schedule eases up a bit and the Islanders have a lot of home games coming up. The team needs to rebound and start a winning streak fast. If they lose something like 3 out of the next 4 (without getting any points) the season will be in real jeopardy and I'd hope Snow would talk to some other coaches.
This system and coach have to go. If you really look at it this team under Cap peaked two years ago and even though they went further last season it was a plateau in my opinion. I'm not minimizing what was accomplished last season. It was great that they finally won a playoff series but they weren't any better than the year before. There is nothing exciting about this team right now. He has relied on great play out of players like JT, Nielsen, Leddy, Greiss, Halak, the 4th line. Nothing Capuano has done has taken the team to another level. Some of you hate Snow but he did build this roster up and that is what carries this team. The league knows how to play and beat the Islanders now and the simple one is incapable of evolving. This team is flat and they aren't doing the "little things". It's hard for me to believe that every team they play is soooo good that they can smother our forecheck and destroy our entries every game. I know that in hockey it's not as much true as in other sports but the coaches job is to put players in the best position to succeed and fix then when they are struggling one way or the other. Good Luck Ladd! Now, don't get me wrong I know this team has the horses to play great and they will get going and I'm hoping for it every game. I just wonder how far they'll be able to go.
Rangers, pens, Hawks, Habs, sharks all play great. Why we didn't advance to this level yet boggles me.
On the other hand, with snow and capuano in tow the islanders try to run this like a real organization, they weren't a few years ago. Therefore stability in the front office and behind the bench is needed. You can't change every time things get hard. But we have seen this story for awhile and need to move kn

Go Isles!
it's not you.. I don't think Capuano has a system in place. "Just skate it in, look to pass it and then shoot"
they should trade him to Boston. They are hurtin'
he's having a game.. glad to have him back.
I love when the D pinches
lol Feelsy, I saw that guy
it's back to Bailey now? What happened to Kulemin????
Seems Bailey and brock a little soft in dirty areas. Need to play bigger, stronger
Not the last 2 years, it had stopped
it doesn't help when our unproductive big investment takes an idiotic penalty.

As opposed to that macho dude Cal Clutteruck?

Maybe we should have two favorite teams.
Very accurate observation.
