He was never going to be an NFL QB, but he's a beast of an open field runner. If he can learn to block a bit and can catch a ball, he might be pretty good at TE.

Practice Squad players don't pass through waivers, as they are already free agents. If the Giants wanted Chubb, they could have signed him at any time.

Woth noting that Thomas's move to TE is not a typical position "switch". He is returning to the position where he starred in high school. Coincidentally, he also reunites with fellow Hokie Tyrod Taylor.
