Not the national team, a local team it seems. They're called Chapecoense. Allegedly 6 have survived but that's unconfirmed.
Wow.

I heard that 25 of 81 people died.

Chapecoense were due to play in the final of the Copa Sudamericana, against Medellin team Atletico Nacional.

the report with may have survived listed next to actual names. Talk about possibly giving someone false hope, possibly is not something you want written next to an actual name..

Horrible. He had the worst luck, hopefully he wasn't conscious.
always the worst nightmare lurking

in the shadows of frequent team travel in our age, RIP, awful.

Was it the US figure skating team heading to a WC meet in Belgium that crashed in the late '50s or early '60s, killing all aboard?
RIP
