The Giants will promote practice squad safety Eric Pinkins to the active roster, per source. No word on corresponding move.

Orleans Darkwa likely headed to IR, per source. Been dealing w/leg injury. Helps Vereen's return is on horizon, though not likely this week.
Maybe he knew something after all. - ( New Window )
hope for his sake, he can find another team to hook up
with next year. If I was in his shoes, that's exactly
what I would do. When he did have a chance to run with the
ball, he produced, good luck to him.
I am not saying I am his biggest fan, just he seemed to
produce, with limited opportunities.
Yep.
going healthy body is needed .
Darkwa was obviously either being outplayed by Perkins, OR was hurt. They haven't cut him. They put him on IR. He may be back next season.
hmmm

Why would Darkwa want to come back here, no reason for him.
Shockingly, they cut Williams and kept him.
Personally I was glad they did cut Williams
As soon as Jennings was healthy, Darkwa was BACK TO THE BENCH! Even though the argument can be made he is a better
inside runner, Jennings is playing because they are paying!
It's really no more than that, Perkins may be the future,
hasn't been a better runner so far.

I believe Andre Williams was cut. That was his "fair shake."

They should just finish with him.
David B. is the newest member of CCI, up to about 6 members now. What is CCI you ask? Clueless Club Interactive!
Exactly. They won't carry ten offensive linemen indefinitely.
McDermott is only on the roster because a backup center is an absolute requirement. When Jones comes back, McDermott is done - and he might not even stick around on the practice squad if the other interior OL are on the mend. His roster spot is probably earmarked for Vereen, subject to SV's rehab and injury developments elsewhere.
Gettis is a tougher call, especially if he continues not to be a liability filling in for Pugh in Pittsburgh (assuming JP isn't fully back yet). Gettis's problem is the same as it's always been: lack of positional versatility. Hard to tie up a roster spot on a mediocre backup LG. He's safe until all three injured OL are cleared. Then he'll be back on the bubble, because Newhouse seems to be a viable option at Gettis's one position.
As for Pinkins, there might be room for him after Herzlich clears the protocol. I don't see a spot for a seventh LB, but a hybrid S/LB might be a different matter.
That's for all you Dorsey Levens fans.
Cooper Taylor was one of those guys.
Stevie Brown was one too.

The Levens reference makes me laugh every time. One of the funniest stories in BBI lore.
