I will be spending a long weekend with a few buddies down in Palm Beach Gardens this weekend and we're looking to spend Saturday night out in West Palm Beach down on Clematis street, which I understand is a hotspot on weekends.
Can anyone recommend good places to eat and drink down on Clematis? We'll probably take an Uber down there and go somewhere first for dinner and then hop around to different bars. We'd like a place that ideally has the college games on but also has a good crowd/scene. We're in our 30s so expect to be older than most but are looking to get after it.
Any other suggestions for Palm Beach Gardens area for activities, dining, recreating, are also appreciated!
There's a good mix of restaurants on Clematis though. In terms of bars, I just stay away from Off the Hookah. It's as bad as it sounds. Respectable Street is a bit odd - very hipsterish, but from what I recall (haven't been in years since I've been with my current wife) they have pretty good drink specials if you want to get started. Roxy's isn't bad - decent beer selection and tends to have live music. Head up to the rooftop for a different crowd. O'Shea's is a traditional irish bar, not badly priced. I had my wedding on Flagler and we did the after party at Bradley's which overlooks the water. A bunch of 30 year olds will enjoy the crowd.
If you want something for dinner that's nicer, head over to Palm Beach Island, there are plenty of options. I've never made it, but there's a really cool bar over in the Breakers which isn't far from Clematis.
Really random, but if you want a really good hole in the wall fish restaurant, go to the Reef Grill in Juno, just a couple miles from the Gardens. Awesome, fresh fish and great selection. I took my wife up there before we were married when we spent a weekend on Singer Island and it was one of the best fish meals I've had since.
If you want to take a bit of a ride, another option is Atlantic Avenue down in Delray (where I am). Much better selection of food and bars, and a much different crowd.
For activities, probably a bit pricey since we're in season now, but you'll be right by the PGA resort for a round of golf.
Plenty of food and spirit places.
Have Fun!
