Why not book the hotel regardless? Most chains allow you to cancel up to three days prior with no penalty. Especially if you can get a good price now. Remember that is New Year's Eve weekend and the prices are only going to go up.
If Fox has a national slot at 4:25 (not sure they do) there are a few candidates to move from 1pm: NYG@WAS, GB@DET, and maybe CAR@TB. The scheduled late games in the NFC, ARI@LA and SEA@SFO, probably won't mean much.
They just wait to announce it to ensure that it has playoff implications. That makes GB@DET a good candidate, because if it's for the central title, the results of earlier games won't have any effect on its importance.

All games in Week 17 are eligible to be chosen. There are no windows for either network. There are also no longer anymore "maximum appearances" for that week anymore.
NFL has as many as 7 days notice to choose a game . I would book the hotel, but just make plans to leave Monday.
If the Giants win out, the Cowboys will, at best, be playing in Philly for the difference between the #1 and #5 seeds. Plus, that's an attractive rivalry.
OAK@DEN is probably the marquee game in the AFC. Games in the AFC East, North and South (plus the NFC West) are either unattractive or likely to be unimportant - or both.
RE: Ah - right - there IS a week 17 primetime game.

Agreed on the shithole comment, but consider that the day off this year for the New Year's Day holiday is Monday, so having the following day off takes a bit of the edge off a late night game.
And I'm going to. Hoping for decent weather, obviously, and a nice 27 - 13 beatdown of the burgundy and gold.
I'm going to that shit hole for the game and I don't want to be dealing with after game traffic until midnight.
Well then you better hope the game means nothing for both teams after Week 16.
If you've been noticing the last few years, they stack the 1 PM slate in Week 17 with as many games they can that have no major playoff implications and save the others for 4 PM.
If either team needs the game, it will not only go at 4:25, but the NFL will line it up to where whoever they are competing that could be affected (should they win or lose) will play at the exact same time alongside them.
There's always a ton of Giant fans at the game at FedEx. Minimum of 25% I think and maximum of 40% in the Norv Turner years. We used to have a BBI tailgate party when Rob Nargi and his cousin Tim (since moved to Florida) were around. In the past few years, we haven't had one, sadly.

RE: Was thinking of getting tickets for the skins game
Also consider that if you have not yet bought tickets, if the Skins stay in contention for a playoff spot, it will be harder and harder (or, more likely, more expensive) to get tickets the closer you get to the game. As Frank mentioned, there is usually a good representation of Giants fans there. I am not yet sure if I will be going.
Here's hoping the game stays at 1:00!
I looked and there seem to be a lot of tickets available

Humble brag alert: 🚨
I vowed to never go again to that stadium but one of the Skins coaches gave me and my best friend his family passes for xmas. He knows I'm die hard Giants and my buddy is die hard skins so he was nice enough to set it up for us. Gave us the parking passes as well so we can park with the families. I'm hoping this helps with the traffic issues after the game. Having the next day off for everyone definitely does help too.
Maybe we can resurrect the BBI tailgate. Let's see what happens over the next few weeks. I can start a DC/VA/MD FedEx tailgate thread early that week and ask Eric to sticky it for us.

That would be cool frank. I'll keep an eye out for that.

Bradshaw44 going in style! Will you be in a suite? That would be awesome for you as you'd stay warm! You actually see a lot of split-team tailgates there. My husband, who grew up in Northern Virginia, is actually a 'Skins fan (nobody's perfect). That's probably true for most of the games since there are a ton of folks in the DC area from around the country. I've seen tons of opposing team fans at many DC sporting events.
we are in club seats section 109. Outdoor seating I believe. Would be awesome if it were indoors though!
I've actually been to a bunch of games at fed ex and rfk. I grew up down here. I've had experiences range from awesome to absolutely horrible. Last time I went was the 2009 Christmas Eve game when we throttled them. Walking in the stadium fans were throwing ice balls at us. Leaving was fine because there were no skins fans left:). Although it still took two hours to get back to Arlington.
Hopefully we have locked up the playoffs and the skins are already out of it. Would make for an excellent tailgate situation. One can hope:)

Central title? What is this 2000?

The Dallas game was always an 8:30 SNF
Will there be a big BBI attendance for this game?

At least Monday is a Holiday in case they do move it to Sunday night.

Oops. I was channeling John Facenda and the frozen TUN-dra of LAM-BEAU FIELD.

'Fess up Bradshaw: Ike Hilliard or Perry Fewell?
Haha no ties to the Jints! I'll tell you guys if we do the tailgate. Don't want to blow his spot up.
That would be cool frank. I'll keep an eye out for that.
