Here's what I think for the next 3 games, how about you?

Big Blue '56 : 12/2/2016 10:12 am
Usual disclaimer: It matters not what I or any of us think as the games will not be affected by it. That's the Giants job, to get it done..

I have been accused of drinking the Kool-aid for this team, viewing them through rose colored glasses or being a total homer. To refute would be silly, as on here, once you get a rep, it sticks. So be it..

So again, though it matters not what we think or say, please share your beliefs nonetheless..

Steelers: Regardless of how they're playing, going into Pittsburgh is oft times a brutal venture..I don't see a win at all

Cowboys: We come up big here

Detroit: No friggin' idea..They're a very hard team for me to assess..They are capable of being offensively explosive..I just don't have any kind of read to date...

And yes, one game at a time, yada, yada, yada. So for discussion purposes only, I'm curious where your mindsets are at, at this point in time..

I'll go

L-W-W. I think we are due for a hiccup considering the 6 game win streak. We'll take care of business at home the next two. 10-4 heading into the last 2 games...what a nice feeling that would be!

Why is there no way to beat Pittsburgh? We can stop the run and we have a top tier CB who should be able to limit AB. Why would we not have a chance? Their defense is not as strong. They are 6-5 for a reason

If the Steelers were 1-10, playing at home with Ben, Bell and Brown healthy, I'd still see a loss or potential blowout no matter how well our D has played, imv
I do not understand why...but you are entitled to that viewpoint. Hopefully you are wrong and we win
I have absolutely no idea
AnnapolisMike : 12/2/2016 1:26 pm : link
They can win any of these games. Pittsburgh has been all over the place. Maybe now that the division is probably out of reach...maybe they go into Pittsburgh loose and win big....they could get blown out as well.

I do see them beating Dallas and Detroit the following weeks securing a wildcard spot and making the last couple games more about getting playoff ready...than securing a playoff spot.

We will have a much better feel Sunday night.

Who do you think I hope is right here?
My prediction

Pitt - L
Dallas - W
Detroit - L
Eagles - W
Skins - L

10 - 6

And still wonder if this team is legit. I could honestly see that happening.

And fall in ESPN power rankings by six spots.
I don't see the Steelers
Gman11 : 12/2/2016 2:06 pm : link
as anything special. They're a .500 team. The defense is barely adequate. So, they have Bell, Ben and Brown. Where did we see this before? Oh yeah, Bernard, Dalton and Green.

Giants win this won.

Dallas - Ugh. I have to admit I'm impressed. Elliot is tearing it up and the OL allows the rookie QB to not get jittery in the pocket. I see a loss here.

Detroit - It's the Lions. Come on. They always find a way to miss the playoffs. A win here and they go to 10-4 and clinch a playoff spot so they can cruise through the last two games.
In my opinion
The_Boss : 12/2/2016 2:20 pm : link
I think the NYG only beat the Lions down the stretch.

I will say one thing: I like McAdoo quite a bit. I was very worried after the Baltimore win because it seemed like the team would be plagued by stupid penalties, turnovers, and other mental errors. But that has been corrected. And while there have been complaints about the offensive play calling, I think he's been superb in this area. He has his finger on the pulse of the team and is playing to that; in this way I think he's an improvement over Coughlin who at times could be pretty stubborn.

The offensive line is a major problem and I'm not sold that the defense is as great as everyone seems to think, but this team isn't beating itself either.

My gut says to hope for 3-2 and the five seed. I don't think we catch Dallas.

I'm not saying McAdoo is on Belichick's level, but they both seem to have a similar grasp of game flow (i.e, knowing when to roll the dice on fourth down, or playing it closer to the vest and letting the D close things out). Some might bemoan the inconsistency of those decisions, or worry that they will eventually come back to bite us, but I also think these decisions help build team confidence and momentum. Let's see if it's enough to carry us in December.
C'mon
oldog : 12/2/2016 2:35 pm : link
folks, this is a team with a very sturdy defense we are talking about. And a potentially explosive offense, that has been sputtering. None of these three opponents is that strong, and I expect Eli, based upon his record to come through and lead the offense in crunch time which is now. So, Giants 3-0, and on we go.
I'm not looking past Pittsburgh just yet
gidiefor : Mod : 12/2/2016 2:45 pm : link
but I do think the Giants can beat all of the remaining teams on the schedule -- and that includes Pittsburgh -- it will be a tough slug fest and a close game and I feel that the Giants can win playing the way they've been playing

Everyone keeps saying
JFIB : 12/2/2016 2:57 pm : link
That Pittsburgh's secondary is banged up or that Dallas' is too. We have played a couple of teams lately with suspect secondaries and have yet to be able to capitalize on it. Unless Eli can settle down and make more accurate throws and smart decisions we are going to struggle down this difficult stretch.
I think the Giants go 2-1...
Dan in the Springs : 12/2/2016 3:05 pm : link
Here's the likelihood of results over next three, according to me.

2-1 - 45%
1-2 - 25%
3-0 - 20%
0-3 - 10%

I'd give you my methodology but am still trying to secure a contract to sell my services, so need to keep that proprietary for now.
I am not sold on this offense.
joe48 : 12/2/2016 3:12 pm : link
I think we are going to see more of the same offense. Why should it get better. The OL stinks and is injured. I think we really need the Steeler game but I am not convinced we will score enough points. Dallas will be tough because of our inconsistent offense. Lions at home should be a win and we beat the Eagles and lose to the Redskins, So we go 2- 3,
Joe48,
OldPolack : 12/2/2016 3:40 pm : link
I agree with your comment.
With the Giant offensive line in shambles there won't be much of a running game
or time for long passes. I hope Eli has some magic tomorrow.
It seems to me
jpennyva : 12/2/2016 3:52 pm : link
that a lot of folks are viewing the Lions much the same way others view the Giants. As in that their record is fluky, that they're frauds, etc. Falling into a trap like that is how teams lose games that they were capable of winning. I just hope the Giants don't underestimate them. While they aren't the greatest ever, I think the Lions win 10 games this year, which may match or beat the Giants record.
teams that are not elite likely go into a slide at points in a season
mdc1 : 12/2/2016 5:53 pm : link
I think this could be ours given our lethargic offense (hot and cold). Wrong time to be facing these teams. Hope to be surprised but I do not think the defense can bail out the offense as it has done with some of the other teams. 2 of the 3 we play are talented and well coached.
Old man
joeinpa : 12/2/2016 6:11 pm : link
Potentially explosive offense?? There s been 12 games! This offense is limited and will continue to be limited until there was s an infusion of talent under front.

I must read twice a week here about potentially explosive offense. I don t think that s the reality
The six game winning streak has expectations high
5BowlsSoon : 12/2/2016 6:12 pm : link
But that is probably misleading. All six teams are middle of the pack or less. Not one "tough" team in the lot, which takes us to the next three weeks.

Honestly, I don't know who are team really is. This game Sunday should tell us a lot. Steelers are awesome at home and have two superstars besides Big Ben. Can we stop them? Can't wait to find out. I don't think we will win, but playing competitively and just losing may be a victory of sorts.

Dallas at home should be fun. 50-50
Detroit: I will withhold making a prediction until I see the previous two games.
Feels like a win versus Steelers. Sucks that Pugh isn't going
Jimmy Googs : 12/2/2016 6:46 pm : link
but at least the reserves got some time in before playing better teams.

I see Eli having a good day as he focuses on a march to playoffs.

Can't tell u the games after that until we know who is injured and can't play.
My Prediction...
M.S. : 12/2/2016 7:38 pm : link

Pitt - L
Dallas - L
Detroit - W
Eagles - L
Skins - L

9 - 7

Sneak into the playoffs as a Wild Card. That's a huge, significant step up from the shit teams of the last two years.

Next year with a huge injection of talent along the offensive front:

NFC Super Bowl Representative

I think we lose a tough heartbreaker in Pitt
djm : 12/2/2016 8:21 pm : link
Then bounce back in a big way against Dallas and Detroit.
One thing for sure -- the more disrespect the Giants get
Reese's Pieces : 12/2/2016 8:34 pm : link
the better the chance they have of winning. And that's not just going back to 2007 and 2011, it was true of the 1990 Giants who had no shot against the Threepeat Niners and the Incredible Scoring Machine Buffalo Bills, playing with their backup quarterback.

If this continues to hold true then we can't lose to Pittsburgh. Wandering around on ESPN, found about eight or nine of their skilled analysts all picking the Steelers. The nastier ones said the Giant record was a fraud, citing the record of the last four or five teams they had played.

Funny, but the Cowboys play the same schedule with two exceptions: the Giants were given the Rams and the Saints while the Cowboys got the Buccaneers and the 1-10 Niners.

It's never been 50-50 and won't be next Sunday. People exaggerate. There will be a lot of Dallas fans at met life, too many, but not 50-50. The Dallas fans stand out but the ratio is more like 80-20 and even that's a stretch.

And Just as many Giants fans invade Dallas.

I don't think the Giants have beaten anyone real during this streak. On the other hand momentum is a real thing, and could launch the Giants into wins they otherwise maybe wouldn't get.

Pretty much my take word for word but I think some of the lesser teams the Giants beat lately have very good DLs and the Giants OL, while flawed, hung in there. Yes, the bears, Eagles and bengals are struggling this year but their defensive fronts are better than Pitt and Dallas and maybe even Detroit and Washington.

The Giants OL is far from great but they are running the ball a little better lately and save for the minny and GB games have managed to keep Eli upright. Based on the five match ups remaining I think the OL matches up well. The real test as you alluded to is how our defense matches up with the better offenses that we face here. I like our defense but you're right that until we see them shut down the best teams we really don't know how good they are.

It's gonna be fun.

Currently I see

Tough games the rest the way . To guess I could see us losing
to Pitt and Det . But then again Dallas and Wash could beat
us just the same but I'm going 3-2
I'll say this, if they surprise (me) on Sunday
Big Blue '56 : 12/3/2016 7:55 am : link
and come a way with a W, we're going to make some big noise come playoff time even if they should lose to Dallas the next week. Remember, in 2007, when Dallas was 13-3, we lost twice to them in the regular season. We all know how that turned out..
if we win today against the Steelers it

Steelers are good, not great
LakeGeorgeGiant : 12/4/2016 11:42 am : link
They are another team, like Dallas, that gets overinflated due to franchise history. In reality they are a team hovering around .500.

If you take the current Pittsburgh roster and put them in Tampa uniforms, nobody would be calling this a "potential blowout".

At least Dallas is having some very real success this year which makes the fear a little more understandable, if overstated.
