One bad game the sky is falling we are an 8-8 team blah blah blah. Just an absolute joke. All of you complainers need to go take a drink and get to bed
I'm not complaining cuz I knew this from the start. We are a 8 - 8 team playing a little better than expected.
We still need 2 oline upgrades and some professional play calling.
RE: Up to the Cards defense. Need to keep Skins out of end zone.
So the offensive line played well. Lol. No one played well.
Dep, this is the part you don't grasp. Eli HAS TO play well. This offense cannot afford for Eli to have games like this. He has to elevate his play when other areas of the offense are struggling...not play like shit. Great QBs find a way to make lemonade out of lemons. He is NOT doing that. There are too many games where Eli looks like Fitzpatrick, or any of the other bottom tier QBs in this league. We cannot pay a guy this much money to deliver a performance like this. We are better off giving it to three pro bowl linemen and let ANY QB just hand the ball off.
So he can't have a shitty game? I mean shit, we just won 6 in a row. He's isn't brady, he isn't rodgers.
Eli is not good enough to make guys like cruz, lewis, tye, adams viable options. He int good enough to make the oline competent. If that's what we need, we are a far way from being a super bowl team.
And did everything it could to set the offense up. If something doesn't change with this offense we may make the playoffs but will be one and done. This offense s broken and it starts with a inconsistent QB
Except for the drive immediately after the safety and the drive immediately after our TD.
Even with a the present line-up, Banks is right. He is paid VERY WELL to make plays. Shouldn't he make those plays? Maybe he should give some of that cap back so they can build him an oline.
Not sure how our O is going to do anything with the likes of Flowers and Jerry. How does Jerry not block anyone on a 4th and one...how can that happen? And if Flowers is a #1 pick then we need some soul searching in the front office. Flowers is going backwards. Eli sucked today however when he has to throw 36 times to running 10 times were in trouble in December.
So he can't have a shitty game? I mean shit, we just won 6 in a row. He's isn't brady, he isn't rodgers.

No, you are right. He is not good enough to make them good. I agree. What he needs to do though is make the throws when they are there. When these scrubs finally do get open, we need Eli to deliver the ball. We also need him to see the field. Go through the progressions if the first one is not open. Don't force it to those guys you mentioned because at times it does look like he is doing that.
to Giants and their fans and really seems to enjoy it. No mention of a team that has a 6 game win streak. I've always disliked him as an announcer because his Dallas uniform has never come of.

Is that sarcasm? He absolutely is good enough to make all thise guys viable options. Tye was a viable option late last year. He and Adams can give enough to at least make teams not ignore the TE and they can even make plays. Cruz is being mis-used. He should be in the slot more. Lewis, I agree with. But, he did a lot making Harris look like a good WR last year.
Eli had 2 great seasons in this offense with less talent the last 2 years. This year really should have been his finest, not a step back. I put more of the problems on coaching though. I have not loved the offensive gameplans and playcalling for all but 2 or 3 games.
I disagree. I think this offense has plenty. I think the offensive gameplan and playcalling, outside of about 3 games during the winning streak, have left a lot to be desired.
Who on the oline is good? What other wr other than OBJ would be considered above average?
Cruz and lewis are legitimately worthless. Shephard is young, but has tailed off.
dep please stop it. The oline actually was pretty decent tonight for most of the game. Ben got as much or more pressure but he stood in and made plays. Eli missed several open receivers and danced around when he was not pressured. He actually moved around well at times but still missed open people.
Now the Steelers got away with a lot of holding and a lot of Pass Interference. Tye got hit by Shazier before the ball got there on the goalline.
Eli started to look for one man only. He had Shepard open for a TD on the 4th down and under threw it badly. So don't blame Cruz or Shepard.
McAdoo has to look at himself, too. Terrible play calling. Just an awful game plan.
to Giants and their fans and really seems to enjoy it. No mention of a team that has a 6 game win streak. I've always disliked him as an announcer because his Dallas uniform has never come of.
I never found that to be the case at all. He has usually been favorable toward the Giants and tries not to be a Dallas homer.

Worse than Eli's play was losing JPP.
And people over rate the play of others to shred another. Eli was terrible today. So was the OLINE. actually it may have been worse.
I don't think so. Nobody is saying they are stars. But, Shepard is better than what we had last year. Tye and Adams, I think are better than Donnell. Perkins is the most talented RB we've had in a while. He should not carry the load, but should touch the ball more than 3-4 times a game.
I think you underrate some of these guys. They don't need to all be stars. They have enough talent, with OBJ on the field, to be a better offense than we had last year.
There was absolutely no way Shephard gets gets a td on 4th down. Zero. None. The safety was right there!
Plus, his little slip making his move didn't help. There is no way you throw the ball to him there. The problem is that every other route was downfield.
How many times this year, is the plan to feed OBJ in the 2nd half are we going to see?
Why do we have to be behind before the O opens up the playbook? The Offensive playcalling is something you would see from a College team playing not to lose. I have no idea what McAdoo is thinking with these horrible gameplans

Matt, we will disagree on this point. He has had times where he compliments the Giants and Eli because their play dictates that narrative. I have listened to every Giant game that he has telecast and his tendencies are very clear to me. His professionalism is good but his heart has a bias for his team.
YAWN. They had the same TEs last season and the offense was fine. Stop trying to blame the personnel. Its the coaching and the preparation. Again they're getting shut down by some of the worst defenses in the league
There was absolutely no way Shephard gets gets a td on 4th down. Zero. None. The safety was right there!
dep, with all respect, you are just wrong; he was minimum 8 yards behind the safety and had to come back at least half that much as the S began to retreat to about where Eli was able to get the ball. A terrible throw, not the decision, the pass, too little, too late
I'm not complaining cuz I knew this from the start. We are a 8 - 8 team playing a little better than expected.

If badly means it changes our playoff chances by about 5%, then yes.
That's why I'm going to be writing Tampa updates in this thread too.

Yes. Every loss counts. D-bag. And yes, post TB updates.

Deservedly so.

This is a Giants - Steelers discussion threat. Your Redskins/Cards posts belong in a 4pm games threat.

Oline has to do a better job too....he's been harassed and trying to make plays.
10 wins is a pipe dream.
Won't win 10 playing like this.
Unfortunately, I think we only beat the Lions down the stretch. Then pray.
Cousins out of bounds. 2nd and 10 from heir 42.

They should have just pulled the face mask. That wouldn't have been called.

Why does everyone think the lions suck? Stafford is playing great. No way we beat DET.
