misjudged the ball, but that is hardly his forte. My guess is most TEs could not have made that play. I'm surprised nobody else was open considering all the time Eli had.
we need someone spying Bell. I really don't know how he is getting a free release from the line of scrimmage with nobody other than Hankins chasing him
This is what makes me sometimes question why at my age I still watch football! The NFL has killed its product! It's going to a restaurant you've gone to. For years but the product is going downhill!!
Giants need to establish intermediate passing game. Don't get this home run obsession other than to try to open the box up. But teams will continue to dare Giants to beat them deep.

LMAO! Yeah not in the same league as the 6-5 team because it's 2-0. Great call!
Yeah, clearly I'm just referring to the score.
Go blow Eli Apple again.
Yet again, another homophobic comment.
Will you be able to sleep tonight, sensitive David?
I'll sleep just fine. Your comments say more about you. Trying to tell us something?
I don't know. You're the one who stalks out my comments all the time. It certainly is not the other way around. Maybe you're the one trying to tell me something..
the fact that they bring Donnell out there for the first time in three games. The defense sees that and figures this is Donnell's play.
That INT is not only on Eli, but also on McAdoo.
Reminds me of when Sinorice Moss was on this team. They would bring him out just once per game and we would throw it to him EVERY TIME when he stepped on the field. Was not that difficult to figure out
That was awful. Steelers might turn this into 8 points. Hopefully being down can help this offense get going, that seems to be the only thing that helps.
and now even allows an interception in the Steelers endzone to be returned to mid field. Not only is the Giants defense getting no help but their offense is helping the Steelers offense now. SMH.
was drafted the same year as Revis and Ross. That's pretty old in NFL years. Everybody picks on him and Wade. Ben also had a lot of time to throw the ball.
and Ben. Ben is looking for his money player on every play. Eli is spreading it out equally, yet still, inexplicably, everyone he throws to is still double covered, so he doesn't even get the benefit of having so many different primary receivers. It's almost like opposing defenses are playing him into thinking guys are open.
game is a microcosm of the real problem with this team, namely marginal at best OL play. Our OL are not "dancing elephants," to quote George Young. They don't have the feet to deal with NFL speed rushers. I'm beginning to lose faith that Flowers will be an effective LT for this reason.
Did Mike Sullivan change the offense from last year. It's just not the same offense. I'm thinking it has to be him that is the reason for the change.
Sullivan does not call plays. Seriously, the play calling blame starts and stops with McAdoo.
And to be honest outside of Beckham what has McAdoo's offense accomplished? When Beckham was inactive the offense looked average even with McAdoo as coordinator.
last week too on a short pass. That is the shit that bothers me more than an interception.
He is the leader of this team. He has an offensive line and a running game that is near the bottom of the league. He has to step up and play like a top QB. We cannot be successful with Eli playing like this
Did Mike Sullivan change the offense from last year. It's just not the same offense. I'm thinking it has to be him that is the reason for the change.
I sincerely don't think so. It's McAdoos offense, which Eli has been successful in. It's become too predictable, blocking not holding up, no run game and TEs are not helping matters. Offense needs lots of help in the off season.
Eli panicked on that 3rd down pass. He frequently does that and throws it into the ground. He needs to get his head out of his ass and make smart decisions.
see if we can hold them to a FG before claiming the game is over. I agree that fourteen points for us seems like a lot, but we were moving the ball before Eli's INT.
isn't very good either. They just looked better against bad teams.
Maybe if the offense could have a few drives and score some points somthe D isn't on the field for 25 of the 30 minutes of his half might help. And Pitt is a very good offense. McAdoo has had as much to do w this teams succes as Barry Switzerland did when he won a Dallas. He literally has nkhi f to do w the D and hat size of the team is the sole reason for the 8-3 record
the problem is Eli. We've always assumed that it's the WR who is out of sync. I don't think that's a safe assumption. he making some sucko throws and has been all season.
Eli knows it, and is making panic throws. In his defense, he's often throwing against six or seven DBs since we can't run at all.
Dude, Eli has made these same type of throws for his career at times. Let's not pretend this is stuff we haven't seen at times.
The problem is if eli makes a mistake, the game is over according to everyone. No run game just kills an offense. He made a terrible throw but it's a hardly a game ending play for most teams, but it is for us.
Defense has been awesome for thr majority of the year, but struggling today. It just might be one of those games.
All the talk leading up was "find out how good we are". seen this before: big game + we get gutted like a fish. We may not win 10 games, this couldntve gone much worse
the problem is Eli. We've always assumed that it's the WR who is out of sync. I don't think that's a safe assumption. he making some sucko throws and has been all season.
OL has been pathetic this game. What game are you watching?
Guys it's the Steelers. This is a must win for them. The NFL ratings are down. They have Ben, Antonio Brown and Leveon Bell. The NFL wants them in the playoffs.
This game has been predetermined. The calls are proving it.
just one game. We're playing away against a HOF QB, and it's not in our conference. But you can see the holes on the team: Marginal OL, no TE that can threaten the seam, no breakaway RB, and no coverage LBs.

That screen almost got a first down.
You are right Acid. It's also a good reminder for those who want to say the OL isn't that bad.
Like they want this game. It's essentially over IMO. I know there's a half left, but the team is just not getting it done and Pittsburgh looks like it's determined to get this win.
That just took the wind out of their sails. Now we're down 14, and, for all accounts, out of this game. This offensive line just isn't good enough, as I've said since the spring.
Who is wearing The Jay Fund cleats? I am watching a stream and listening to the radio broadcast so I saw the cleats but didn't hear who is wearing them. Thanks!
Don't think I'll bother with tuning into this game!
Offense showing its quality again. And JPP out. Got a blow out written all over it!
Maybe journos were right....the 8-3 record is fraud record for this team!?
Who is wearing The Jay Fund cleats? I am watching a stream and listening to the radio broadcast so I saw the cleats but didn't hear who is wearing them. Thanks!
they should auction the cleats off for the charities.
IMO......crap! It won't be the end of the world if we lose this game, however, we have to take care of business at home and that will be an extremely tough task!

lol - front runner fans are the best. Pizza dough isn't as soft

The offensive line is doing very well. Eli has had plenty of time. He just has happy feet again for some reason. He does well one play and then gets jumpy feet the next.
This one is totally on Eli so far.
It would also help if the refs made a holding call or two against the Steelers instead of the borderline crap thaey called on the Giants.
Who is wearing The Jay Fund cleats? I am watching a stream and listening to the radio broadcast so I saw the cleats but didn't hear who is wearing them. Thanks!
The Pittsburgh Steelers really are not beating us. The New York Giants are beating the New York Giants today so far. If we can clean some things up, get seven points on this first drive and not start shitting all over ourselves again, then this game might be salvageable. This defense is playing terrific football overall, and I say that realizing that they gave up two huge third downplays that really hurt. But overall, they are keeping us in this football game. Let's hope JPP can shake it off and that he's good to go.
He looked the other way and threw a nice ball that Timmons made a great fingertip INT. Maybe a different path to the ball would have been 6 to Donnell?
Or maybe didn't even see Timmins?
It was a very costly INT (maybe the game?) but it certainly was not an "ugly" Eli INT.
RE: When you compare our OL to any other playoff caliber team
Absolutely awful. Refs weren't helping, including letting the Steelers basically mug OV while calling Flowers for holding in the EZ, but that doesn't exempt some extremely poor play from the offense.
Very lucky to be down only 14-0. I just hope that Hankins and JPP are healthy, otherwise, this is going to be a long season.
that much of a difference between this game and all the others...Defense battling and playing relatively well and the offense looking terrible...The only difference is that we're playing a slightly better team than we've been playing. Thus the score.
offense is playing very poorly, starting with Eli. The poor OL play and lack of a running game can't excuse all his panic throws and outright misses. It does look to me like he's lost some arm strength, especially on deep balls. The field looks like it's two hundred yards long for us.
Good post. Same GM and scouts still haven't addressed tight end,o-line and linebackers and that's why we have to overpay for free agents. You don't draft well and you have to depend on free agency.

It was just a bad throw, not bad decision. Donnell was open. It needed more air under it.
We just can't get them off the field on 3rd down! theyre finding open receivers consistently on 3rd down and it's not even difficult for Roth. Drops the ball off to Bell and he just rumbles for 10 or more yards, too easy. LBers have been horrendous in this game. I didn't think they were this bad, but they've looked very bad this game. No coverage at all on RB or TEs. Too soft in coverage.
Good post. Same GM and scouts still haven't addressed tight end,o-line and linebackers and that's why we have to overpay for free agents. You don't draft well and you have to depend on free agency.
We didn't overpay for FA, we paid for FA. And we got good FA as a result. You know, basically the same way every other team in the NFL does it, since they all have to spend basically the same amount of money.
That just took the wind out of their sails. Now we're down 14, and, for all accounts, out of this game. This offensive line just isn't good enough, as I've said since the spring.
You also said philly would win their last 5. How'd that work out?
bad throw by Eli.) This game SHOULD be 8-8. This offense better wake the fuck up, FEED Odell! At least we get the ball lets cut it down to a 7 point game with the opening drive PLEASE!
Absolutely awful. Refs weren't helping, including letting the Steelers basically mug OV while calling Flowers for holding in the EZ, but that doesn't exempt some extremely poor play from the offense.

I love Eli and defend him much more than most. But, that was a bad throw and a bad decision. He ttried to look off the D, but Timmons was still right there in front of him and Donnell was falling backward (no surprise). He shouldn't have thrown it there.
Who is wearing The Jay Fund cleats? I am watching a stream and listening to the radio broadcast so I saw the cleats but didn't hear who is wearing them. Thanks!

Wrong. Never said that. I said their schedule was conducive to them to possibly run the table. You ever get anything right?

its game 12...?
Yup, and if they go into the toilet for the last 4, it's not going to be pleasant.

Why bother? TMS and Marty were Reese bashers. TMS came out of hiding just for today. This is essentially a circle jerk between posters that didn't like Reese, but didn't have the stones to comment when we were on a winning streak.
Offensive lines are not good enough with a stationary QB....Look at Ben's TD pass runs out of the pocket buys time and scores.
No one wants to hear that on this here. LOL, you even have Brady running around and scrambling in the backfield now. That's the real reason why Peyton got old real quick. But...
Very evident when there is no running a game to speak of and we can't sustain drives. We're horrendous in TOP this year and the other teams are killing us keeping our D on the field too long too.

I don't think it's so much losing arm strength as it is poor fundamentals because he is worried about getting hit

He's had a few shit throws today. Not exactly bad Eli, but missing Tye the way he did, blowing the throw to Donnell, not good.
couple of drives, the Steelers might have an even greater lead. Neither the defense or the offense showed up in the first half. This first drive will say a lot about how the teddy of the game will go.

I think it's both. His iron man streak of consecutive games notwithstanding, he's taken a lot of hits as our QB. It only takes the slightest diminution in ability at the highest level of any profession to turn a great performer into something lesser.
I

It is not just that. Even the throw to OBJ when he got the offensive PI. That throw was OFF which is why OBJ was fighting to get back towards the middle of the field. The ball was not placed well.
They have more talent than they've had the last 2 years and they took a huge step backward. Eli, in what should probably be his best career year has regressed, in my opinion.

So, no. I will not be accepting.
You're such a miserable fuck. You ghost whenever the Giants win and crawl out out your hole at the first sign of adversity.
Any kind of drive there and I don't like our chances. Now, not only did we stop them, but they got off a bad punt. The offense better wake the F up and score here...and I don't mean a FG.
But, what about the questionable hold on Flowers. It negated a big first down, gave them 2 points, and the Steelers converted the free kick to a FG. That's 5 free points.
If Giants lose and Skins win I will have a hard time sleeping.
That the Offensive play calling has not helped this team. It literally has to be the most unimaginative designed plays I have seen since in decades
It's the plays. Not the calling of the plays. The plays are different that last year. It has to be Sullivan. Guy has no reason to be the OC if this team. None at all. Fucking can his ass and give Ben the title again
you know you're playing the Steelers and the refs, run the ball. You're not getting a PI call today, they're basically letting the Steelers bear hug our receivers.
On 4th and 1 you should at least give the defense the impression that running the ball is an option, but it was clear that the Giants were going pass the entire time. Recurring theme for this team all year.
LBer was all over him! No way he could have caught that. Just a shitty call.....were 0-2 in Red Zone now and we're not getting too many more ops there!
Completely agree, that was always my bitch with Fassel also, and Mac sits there and says nothing. Need to be in their fucking ear calling them out for these non calls
LBer was all over him! No way he could have caught that. Just a shitty call.....were 0-2 in Red Zone now and we're not getting too many more ops there!
yep, sorry, gut reaction. Eli had no time either. this is frustrating
Is having a very good game blocking and receiving. If a quality player like him gets your rant younare screwed in the head. Where is your boy $8m Cruz?
is that both are the product if no running game. It's not just that we struggle to run the ball, but we do so and call plays and have personnel that gives a defense nothing to worry about. So, backed up near our end zone, we threw on 1st and 3rd, sandwiched around a crappy run. On 4th down, it is the same thing. Pitt isn't concerned with the run at all.
No it's been the QB. One has been good the other hasn't.
1 mistake doesn't cost games. Having a tight been wide open and making plays has happened much more regularly.
It's not one mistake. It's a bunch of shitty decisions, bad long throws, bad short throws. And that "one mistake" happened to take points off the board. His performance has left the defense out on the field all game.
I like Eli, but he's been fucking appalling today.
Also, on the play before, if Beckham had allowed the play to be whistled dead, he would have gotten forward progress about 5 yards up. But, I won't fault him for trying to make plays.
Eli and Odell thats all they have and EVERYONE knows it and Eli has definitely seen his best days. I don't think he has much left, he just looks defeated. He looks like he wants to be out there but he has zero faith in anybody.
Eli was rolling on the move and the safety was in front of Shepard. The only reason he even had separation was Eli being flushed out of the pocket. He wasn't open before that.
that had such a dymanic offense the last two years is so bad this year.
The offense is better this year IMO. That "dynamic offense" was a mirage - we couldn't run the ball then and our passing game was worse. The schedule is tougher this year.
4th and a mile and we are getting on the qb for throwing an INT because he can't throw the ball 50 yards against his hody.
No one gets open and the OLINE blows.
He's been fucking shite. Get over it. He's blown ass today. It happens, it happens a lot.
The entire offense has been shit. Not seeing the bigger picture is what's great of bbi. OL has been atrocious. Receivers have been bad. Play calling has been bad as well.
It's a bad game. But for fans to shit on one player shows true stupidity.

Yeah, I don't see that at all. We did more with less last year

No one gets open and the OLINE blows.
A mile? It was 8 yards. And noen of the routes were at the sticks.
Try 4th and 13. And he was flushed away. From where the receivers were. But carry on.
Carry on with what? You think it was a good idea to throw across the field, across his body, to the left while moving right, 40+ yards downfield? What's worse is that none of the routes were designed to just pick up the first and where were the receivers coming back to him.
across the field across his body for about 40 yards. Most QBs aren't making that, especially not one accustomed to throwing on the move.
He could have set himself.
And the intercepting safety was still there. That's what cover 2 defense do. He wold have had to thrown it 60 yards with a 90 MPH fast ball to have a chance. Shepherd wasn't as open as one thinks.

He's the QB. He threw a back breaking int, a couple of worm balls to stall drives, a couple of absolutely woeful bombs, missed a few open receivers and has generally looked off all game. He's been terrible. The defense has been poor but lets be honest it's a good offense they're up against, it's hard to expect them hold them to 7, it's only 21.
1) Not only was Tye not trying to make the play, but he wasn't looking for the ball. That is the definition of hitting a defenseless receiver.
2) I'm pretty sure I heard the whistle blow on the sack before Eli was driven to the turf. Where's the flag for that. Our DL have been flagged for far less this season.
McAdoo chasing points all day since the first 4th and 1.
Not happy with McAdoo at all either but we are not executing. That play the ball was not thrown really to either guy. He missed Tye. The play before it was high to OBJ but still should have been caught and wasn't. Not sure how you blame McAdoo for that
Flowers unable to block the edge and Richburg get NO push.
Yup. Richburg looks like he's on skates, and Flowers looks like James Brewer. Can lock on going forward, but has poor feet. Might try him at RT, but he looks like a guard. Not a good pick by Reese.

The only thing that rivals the ineptitude of our offense in this game is the officiating. I'm surprised people aren't just allowed to shoot Beckham after the snap.
Need some professional offensive linemen for the 2017 season.....highly unlikely this team sees any post season action till they can block. Defense is now worn out,.....can't blame them,.
to take a shot at the end zone on 4th down. But, again, you can't have every route go deep. At least one has to give you a reasonable shot at the first down.

This. You're allowed to do whatever you want to OBJ without recourse and I'm getting tired of seeing it.
they set up the offense over and over to no avail. they're forced to be on the field more than any other defense because the offense can't even fucking sustain a drive.
the whole team is on their back.
and now you're seeing a tired and injured defense get gashed by 26.
Guys were open, the QB missed them all game. The offensive talent isn't very good, but lets not kid ourselves a halfway standard Eli performance put more points on the board.
Need some professional offensive linemen for the 2017 season.....highly unlikely this team sees any post season action till they can block. Defense is now worn out,.....can't blame them,.
I wonder how much of it is coaching. Are our guys really that much worse than 31 other teams?
Though LOL at the people who thought Seattle's line was worse than ours.
And the officials definitely have not helped. I won't blame them given how Eli and most of the offense played. But, they played a big part. That hold for the safety was 5 free points. The constant no calls on holds and PI against OBJ were big. And, lastly, that pick up of the flag for the hit on Tye. We have been victims of stupid penalties like that over and over, extending drives when we had a stop.

Some of it is Eli and some is on the game plan which was well anticipated by the defense. They have to regroup for the remainder of the campaign. McAdoo needs to step it up for the prep for Dallas. The offense for the past two weeks has been mediocre at best. Have a good week my fellow Giants fans, sorry this had to be a lame executed offense. The Defense had some stops in the second half at least. They didn't quit.
That's the thing. Defensively the Steelers aren't very good at all. They've got a potent offense we've largely limited but our offense can't actually be competent and put up points despite having decent chances to.

another gem from dpinzow
The way Eli was positioned to throw, there's almost no way he's throwing Shepard open
BS. The quality of opponent isn't why they lost. They played a bad game. They gave Pitt 5 points with the safety. They had two bad INTs. They had a breakdown of coverage on the Brown TD.

The int to Donnell was bad. But receivers weren't running open all game. Same thing every loss with some of you. It's called a team loss from eli to number 45.
I bet you seriously believe Shephard would have caught the td on thr 2nd int if eli could have set his feet, right?

I don't have an anti-Eli agenda. He's just turned in a terrible performance, you and Dep don't get to handwave that away on the rest of the offense. For all the talk about lack of talent, he missed OPEN guys at critical junctions.
Just horrendous most of the day.....too many missed opportunities in the Redzone, turnovers, penalties, and just sloppy sloppy play. I know it's in Pittsburgh and they really needed the game moreso, but man we just did not look the part at all!

So the offensive line played well. Lol. No one played well.
that's the not '85 bears out there. we managed 7 points. we sustained ONE drive of over minutes.
it just doesn't look like they're gonna figure it out. there's no rhyme or reason to anything they're doing. if not for a handful of flashy plays from OBJ and Perkins, this offense has literally nothing and no one is innocent.
the QB has played poorly. the WRs other than OBJ are non-existent.
I disagree. I think this offense has plenty. I think the offensive gameplan and playcalling, outside of about 3 games during the winning streak, have left a lot to be desired.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves. We've got this win streak vs shitty teams.
We will get steamrolled by Dallas next week. No way we can beat Detroit. Redskins will throw for 400 yards on us. There isn't a win left on the schedule. The media will talk about our giant collapse, but it's been a consistent team all year. Just not a good one.
I just wanted us to be competitive. We got beat from the coaches on down and that is what sucks so much
Exactly. That is how I felt in the Minny game also. Losing to a quality opponent, on the road, is understandable for a team like this. But, laying down and crapping the bed, especially this late in the season, is not excusable.
Guys were open, the QB missed them all game. The offensive talent isn't very good, but lets not kid ourselves a halfway standard Eli performance put more points on the board.
The int to Donnell was bad. But receivers weren't running open all game. Same thing every loss with some of you. It's called a team loss from eli to number 45.
I bet you seriously believe Shephard would have caught tuhe td on thr 2nd int if eli could have set his feet, right?
The play to donnell was so predictable, the D could see it coming. Why is that guy even out there, whenever he is on the field, bad shit happens. That being said we did see the bad Eli today.

Hey we got Philly on the schedule... that should be 1 win right there. No?
Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves. We've got this win streak vs shitty teams.
We will still get to 10 wins. This game was always goign to be a potential loss and a tough game. Lets not over react.

One bad game the sky is falling we are an 8-8 team blah blah blah. Just an absolute joke. All of you complainers need to go take a drink and get to bed
this offensive approach and capabilities are not going to beat good teams it is too inconsistent and has many single points of failure when those options are taken away...Beckham shutdown, no running game, Eli pressured into his bad tendencies of forcing footballs to manufacture plays because there is no consequence for ints for franchise paid QBs beyond losing. Really no accountability. 4 seasons of that is enough proof.

Dep, this is the part you don't grasp. Eli HAS TO play well. This offense cannot afford for Eli to have games like this. He has to elevate his play when other areas of the offense are struggling...not play like shit. Great QBs find a way to make lemonade out of lemons. He is NOT doing that. There are too many games where Eli looks like Fitzpatrick, or any of the other bottom tier QBs in this league. We cannot pay a guy this much money to deliver a performance like this. We are better off giving it to three pro bowl linemen and let ANY QB just hand the ball off.
I bet at least 100 bbi posters would want him instead of eli.
I have been highly critical of Eli today, but the only QB in the league I would take over him is Brady. I love Eli. Going into the draft, I thought he was the best of the 3, but I didn't want to trade up for him. The only reason is because I think settling for Roethlisberger wouldn't have really been settling. But, as soon as we draftedI was all for the trade because I never loved him as much as the other two and because that is who SD wanted. After the deal, I have never looked back at the draft with a single question.
And did everything it could to set the offense up. If something doesn't change with this offense we may make the playoffs but will be one and done. This offense s broken and it starts with a inconsistent QB
One bad game the sky is falling we are an 8-8 team blah blah blah. Just an absolute joke. All of you complainers need to go take a drink and get to bed
I'm not complaining cuz I knew this from the start. We are a 8 - 8 team playing a little better than expected.
We still need 2 oline upgrades and some professional play calling.
RE: Up to the Cards defense. Need to keep Skins out of end zone.

So he can't have a shitty game? I mean shit, we just won 6 in a row. He's isn't brady, he isn't rodgers.
Eli is not good enough to make guys like cruz, lewis, tye, adams viable options. He int good enough to make the oline competent. If that's what we need, we are a far way from being a super bowl team.
And did everything it could to set the offense up. If something doesn't change with this offense we may make the playoffs but will be one and done. This offense s broken and it starts with a inconsistent QB
Except for the drive immediately after the safety and the drive immediately after our TD.
Even with a the present line-up, Banks is right. He is paid VERY WELL to make plays. Shouldn't he make those plays? Maybe he should give some of that cap back so they can build him an oline.
Not sure how our O is going to do anything with the likes of Flowers and Jerry. How does Jerry not block anyone on a 4th and one...how can that happen? And if Flowers is a #1 pick then we need some soul searching in the front office. Flowers is going backwards. Eli sucked today however when he has to throw 36 times to running 10 times were in trouble in December.
So he can't have a shitty game? I mean shit, we just won 6 in a row. He's isn't brady, he isn't rodgers.

No, you are right. He is not good enough to make them good. I agree. What he needs to do though is make the throws when they are there. When these scrubs finally do get open, we need Eli to deliver the ball. We also need him to see the field. Go through the progressions if the first one is not open. Don't force it to those guys you mentioned because at times it does look like he is doing that.
to Giants and their fans and really seems to enjoy it. No mention of a team that has a 6 game win streak. I've always disliked him as an announcer because his Dallas uniform has never come of.

Is that sarcasm? He absolutely is good enough to make all thise guys viable options. Tye was a viable option late last year. He and Adams can give enough to at least make teams not ignore the TE and they can even make plays. Cruz is being mis-used. He should be in the slot more. Lewis, I agree with. But, he did a lot making Harris look like a good WR last year.
Eli had 2 great seasons in this offense with less talent the last 2 years. This year really should have been his finest, not a step back. I put more of the problems on coaching though. I have not loved the offensive gameplans and playcalling for all but 2 or 3 games.
I disagree. I think this offense has plenty. I think the offensive gameplan and playcalling, outside of about 3 games during the winning streak, have left a lot to be desired.
Who on the oline is good? What other wr other than OBJ would be considered above average?
Cruz and lewis are legitimately worthless. Shephard is young, but has tailed off.
dep please stop it. The oline actually was pretty decent tonight for most of the game. Ben got as much or more pressure but he stood in and made plays. Eli missed several open receivers and danced around when he was not pressured. He actually moved around well at times but still missed open people.
Now the Steelers got away with a lot of holding and a lot of Pass Interference. Tye got hit by Shazier before the ball got there on the goalline.
Eli started to look for one man only. He had Shepard open for a TD on the 4th down and under threw it badly. So don't blame Cruz or Shepard.
McAdoo has to look at himself, too. Terrible play calling. Just an awful game plan.
to Giants and their fans and really seems to enjoy it. No mention of a team that has a 6 game win streak. I've always disliked him as an announcer because his Dallas uniform has never come of.
I never found that to be the case at all. He has usually been favorable toward the Giants and tries not to be a Dallas homer.

Worse than Eli's play was losing JPP.
And people over rate the play of others to shred another. Eli was terrible today. So was the OLINE. actually it may have been worse.
I don't think so. Nobody is saying they are stars. But, Shepard is better than what we had last year. Tye and Adams, I think are better than Donnell. Perkins is the most talented RB we've had in a while. He should not carry the load, but should touch the ball more than 3-4 times a game.
I think you underrate some of these guys. They don't need to all be stars. They have enough talent, with OBJ on the field, to be a better offense than we had last year.
There was absolutely no way Shephard gets gets a td on 4th down. Zero. None. The safety was right there!
Plus, his little slip making his move didn't help. There is no way you throw the ball to him there. The problem is that every other route was downfield.
How many times this year, is the plan to feed OBJ in the 2nd half are we going to see?
Why do we have to be behind before the O opens up the playbook? The Offensive playcalling is something you would see from a College team playing not to lose. I have no idea what McAdoo is thinking with these horrible gameplans

Matt, we will disagree on this point. He has had times where he compliments the Giants and Eli because their play dictates that narrative. I have listened to every Giant game that he has telecast and his tendencies are very clear to me. His professionalism is good but his heart has a bias for his team.
YAWN. They had the same TEs last season and the offense was fine. Stop trying to blame the personnel. Its the coaching and the preparation. Again they're getting shut down by some of the worst defenses in the league
There was absolutely no way Shephard gets gets a td on 4th down. Zero. None. The safety was right there!
dep, with all respect, you are just wrong; he was minimum 8 yards behind the safety and had to come back at least half that much as the S began to retreat to about where Eli was able to get the ball. A terrible throw, not the decision, the pass, too little, too late
But I'll be more than happy to be wrong.
But I'll be more than happy to be wrong.
I didn't want to be the one to say it. This could be ugly. Would love to be proved wrong.
Anyway.. lets go Giants!
But I'll be more than happy to be wrong.
Thanks alot Nostradamus.
get fucked.

Same here. I can't believe Tomlin didn't go for it there. Especially since that seems like a very Tomlin kind of move.
It's been all dink and dunk stuff so far.

Yeah I thought they'd go for it too
Good observation.
Thx... keep the updates coming
Can we get a fucking tight end please.
The Steelers are getting a lot of pressure.
The running game is nondescript.
Fucking terrible
Looked like the guys underneath just quit once their routes were completed. No effort to create space and get open?
Wing, another shit punt.

I guess the coverage was great on that

You want a tight end for that job? Cmon man.
I didn't see anyone else get open on that play, either.
1 on 1 with a 6'6 TE against a 6' defender? do it everytime

Good point
Meanwhile our offense looks quite familiar to me...ugh.
That is going to bite us in the ass
And a good hit too... need more of those
Just picturing Ruben Foster or Zach Cunningham out there next year.
As frustrating as it is... we need a running game.
looks like divots
Did you see the replay? Correct call
Haha you just missed a moron call by the officials

And that was NOT holding by Flowers. Horrible call
brutal
End this experiment. It failed.
Penalty on Flowers didn't exist
Sorry just saw it LOL
You gonna call that in the EZ?!!!
Let them play
someone explain to me the offensive PI too
BS
steelers and cowboys always get calls
Hand placement and knee bend. His two major weaknesses coming out of Miami and they're still fully there.

And Eli just killed us. Fml
ridiculous
Yep
I don't think he saw Timmons, otherwise he would have thrown it higher. Fuck!
How was that on Donnell? Bad throw by Eli
Blew a huge chance right there.
Need ball security here. No stupid turnovers down here.
That INT is not only on Eli, but also on McAdoo.
Reminds me of when Sinorice Moss was on this team. They would bring him out just once per game and we would throw it to him EVERY TIME when he stepped on the field. Was not that difficult to figure out
This game has a long way to go.
LOL someone please save this comment for later.

Giants D tackle Johnathan Hankins gets up and limps off under his own power. Not looking good, though, for the big fella

We may very well just be pretenders, I hope they prove me wrong.. But we now need solid defense to crawl back into this.
Another score by them without an answer, you can very well put a fork in us.
Yea, it's nice after the game to go over and congratulate him, but to clap for the other team scoring is ridiculous.
You really are a pile of ass pus, aren't you? IS this your gig, to once a week troll the game thread? What adult does something like that!
His elbow was down in bounds. It's a TD. Close though.
My point is Pitt ain't that good. We can do this. Just stop fucking ourselves.

Can not pass
Such a confounding QB sometimes. Very up and down in games this year. He needs to come up big in the 2nd half or we are toast.
Sullivan does not call plays. Seriously, the play calling blame starts and stops with McAdoo.
And to be honest outside of Beckham what has McAdoo's offense accomplished? When Beckham was inactive the offense looked average even with McAdoo as coordinator.
Not his first either. Hard to count on him all the time as in the old days.
He is the leader of this team. He has an offensive line and a running game that is near the bottom of the league. He has to step up and play like a top QB. We cannot be successful with Eli playing like this
I sincerely don't think so. It's McAdoos offense, which Eli has been successful in. It's become too predictable, blocking not holding up, no run game and TEs are not helping matters. Offense needs lots of help in the off season.
HOly FUCK! I am so jealous watching the Steelers run an actual FUCKING SCREEN PASS.
Flowers. Newhouse. Richburg. Jerry. Hart.
Eli knows it, and is making panic throws. In his defense, he's often throwing against six or seven DBs since we can't run at all.
it's only an AFC game...

Seriously though this is the type of game they have been pulling out. A lot of football left to be played.
Looks like you really aren't a Giants fan. Game is FAR from over
if not for the dropped passes, it could look a lot worse.
You must be a joy to watch a game with.
If he doesnt loop into the middle at least BR has to throw it blind or run a little.
Odd.
We need to get to halftime and regroup.
The had ten days to watch tape. And next week we get Dallas with ten days of rest.
Maybe if the offense could have a few drives and score some points somthe D isn't on the field for 25 of the 30 minutes of his half might help. And Pitt is a very good offense. McAdoo has had as much to do w this teams succes as Barry Switzerland did when he won a Dallas. He literally has nkhi f to do w the D and hat size of the team is the sole reason for the 8-3 record
the only difference is we're losing (and prob gonna lose).
everyone of those 8 wins save Dallas was borderline unwatchable
Quote:
Defense has played in awhile as well.
Terrible game by both units.
The truth is that we are facing a real QB this week.
I don't know what you are watching, but this last series has Snacks on the bench and it is Bromley and Hank.
Best QB they've played in a while as well
I thought Harrison and a Bromley can hold the fort. Not looking to be the case.
I still cant get over that bonehead int.
D needs to hold to a FG here.
Run game is barely OK.
the problem is Eli. We've always assumed that it's the WR who is out of sync. I don't think that's a safe assumption. he making some sucko throws and has been all season.
we had one, cost us 2 points.
Quote:
don't have the bodies up front.
Flowers. Newhouse. Richburg. Jerry. Hart.
Bens one of the best QBS in the league as is Brown for WR. They always have a shot to win every game.
the only difference is we're losing (and prob gonna lose).

We're funding out right now we're pretenders. Our record doesn't mean shit if we can't win in December against playoff teams.
Offense has moved the ball, but penalties and turnover killing us, which has been the formula for our losses this year!
+1

OL has been pathetic this game. What game are you watching?
Cards up 7-6.
This game has been predetermined. The calls are proving it.
They ran a pick.
same fucking play that Crowder scored on in the Washington game. this is so unpleasant to watch.
Fucking ridiculous.
Fucking ridiculous.
LBs don't matter. J.R.
Yes, but that pick was a fucking killer.
because other teams have a middle linebacker that recognizs it, not stand around with his thumb up his ass.
How about if we see if they keep them to a FG.
Being down two scores at half is far from impossible to come back from.
JPP has a strained groin, per #Giants radio broadcast
Why they even have to be told this, is ridiculous.
Can we ban this fucker?
They look like 8-3.5

I never really bought into this team. I would be livid right now.

I cosign that motion

Dave is that a guess or did you get an update?
That screen almost got a first down.
The Steelers run screens.
This is preparation stuff.
they basically are. i think that's at least 6 or 7 screens run already
Great so you won't be on next weeks game thread then?
Leave ASAP. It's only gonna get worse.
That screen almost got a first down.
You are right Acid. It's also a good reminder for those who want to say the OL isn't that bad.
On Reese. Shitty LBs.
At least we have symmetry.
Giants have been getting killed on screen passes all season. Redskins and Eagles did it too them too.
3rd down. 11 seconds.
Quote:
Is completely on Spags and his 3rd down playcalling
On Reese. Shitty LBs.
That also for sure
? A score of 28-0 would be worse. The first drive of the second half will tell us if the Giants will compete today.
Thats good news... under the circumstances
+1
But the Giants have shown us they can't stop them, nor can we score.
So I'm not overly optimistic

I thought some fantastic posters that his knee was blown out? Lol.
Ben 17/24, 204 yd, 1 TD, 0 INT
there's your game/
Offense showing its quality again. And JPP out. Got a blow out written all over it!
Maybe journos were right....the 8-3 record is fraud record for this team!?
they should auction the cleats off for the charities.
But the Giants have shown us they can't stop them, nor can we score.
So I'm not overly optimistic
I disagree about the D. One TD off a TO and two FG's. It's our offense. WE HAVE A F'IN GOOSE EGG ON THE BOARD.
Exactly, considering the safety, and Eli's pick in the end zone I think they will view it as fortunate to have played this poorly and still be in it.
And in today's NFL a two TD lead at half is not as big as it used to be. They are very much still in this game.
Now lets see if Ben McAdoo can make some adjustments
lol - front runner fans are the best. Pizza dough isn't as soft
unfortunately, i don't think this unit will unfuck itself this year.
The Steelers offense hasn't been overwhelming. They have made some plays, that's inevitable.
But at some point you have to do anything on offense.
Beatty
Or maybe didn't even see Timmins?
It was a very costly INT (maybe the game?) but it certainly was not an "ugly" Eli INT.
Tipped play if I ever saw one. Knew he was running the seam. Guy Hasn't played in a month
Very lucky to be down only 14-0. I just hope that Hankins and JPP are healthy, otherwise, this is going to be a long season.
Or maybe didn't even see Timmins?

It was just a bad throw, not bad decision. Donnell was open. It needed more air under it.
We just can't get them off the field on 3rd down! theyre finding open receivers consistently on 3rd down and it's not even difficult for Roth. Drops the ball off to Bell and he just rumbles for 10 or more yards, too easy. LBers have been horrendous in this game. I didn't think they were this bad, but they've looked very bad this game. No coverage at all on RB or TEs. Too soft in coverage.
The most the Giants have scored this season is 28 points.....but even Cleveland has scored 28 points in a game this season....
But what can you expect, when you start the game off, running with Jennings and throwing to Jennings? Can't be more creative than that?
We didn't overpay for FA, we paid for FA. And we got good FA as a result. You know, basically the same way every other team in the NFL does it, since they all have to spend basically the same amount of money.
You also said philly would win their last 5. How'd that work out?
Very lucky to be down only 14-0. I just hope that Hankins and JPP are healthy, otherwise, this is going to be a long season.
its game 12...?

Wrong. Never said that. I said their schedule was conducive to them to possibly run the table. You ever get anything right?
Exactly. 7-5. Mother effer.
Quote:
Absolutely awful. Refs weren't helping, including letting the Steelers basically mug OV while calling Flowers for holding in the EZ, but that doesn't exempt some extremely poor play from the offense.

Yup, and if they go into the toilet for the last 4, it's not going to be pleasant.
Quote:
Good post. Same GM and scouts still haven't addressed tight end,o-line and linebackers and that's why we have to overpay for free agents. You don't draft well and you have to depend on free agency.

Why bother? TMS and Marty were Reese bashers. TMS came out of hiding just for today. This is essentially a circle jerk between posters that didn't like Reese, but didn't have the stones to comment when we were on a winning streak.
Not exactly bad Eli, but missing Tye the way he did, blowing the throw to Donnell, not good.

offense is playing very poorly, starting with Eli. The poor OL play and lack of a running game can't excuse all his panic throws and outright misses. It does look to me like he's lost some arm strength, especially on deep balls. The field looks like it's two hundred yards long for us.
I don't think it's so much losing arm strength as it is poor fundamentals because he is worried about getting hit
I think it's both. His iron man streak of consecutive games notwithstanding, he's taken a lot of hits as our QB. It only takes the slightest diminution in ability at the highest level of any profession to turn a great performer into something lesser.
Bell is so good.
He's had a few shit throws today. Not exactly bad Eli, but missing Tye the way he did, blowing the throw to Donnell, not good.
It is not just that. Even the throw to OBJ when he got the offensive PI. That throw was OFF which is why OBJ was fighting to get back towards the middle of the field. The ball was not placed well.
This shit just adds up
That was Jennings.
Cruz is having trouble getting separation, and the Steelers are playing their safeties back.
Not a good punt by Wing.
That looked like PI on Beckham.
It all starts up front.
OBJ was short of the sticks. Everyone else ran way down field.
Literally no options for Eli to convert that third down even if he had a little more time.
I would agree.

He's been this way. Either deep throws on short yardage situations to guys who are covered. Or throwing short where more yards are needed. Very odd.

You're such a miserable fuck. You ghost whenever the Giants win and crawl out out your hole at the first sign of adversity.
We line up in eleven personnel ninety-five percent of the time.
Mac needs to hand over the playbook to Sullivan
haha
one TD can invigorate the Giants
Or even maybe like some of the other WRs starting with Odell.
It's the plays. Not the calling of the plays. The plays are different that last year. It has to be Sullivan. Guy has no reason to be the OC if this team. None at all. Fucking can his ass and give Ben the title again
You can establish
Another near pick. Poor throw by Eli. I'd really like to see Eli try someone else.
Seen that to
No instead they claimed it was good coverage
i know h is trying, but he sucks
1 fucking yard just run it!
You're an idiot
There were two defenders out there just waiting for that throw
Shazier was on Tye's back.
Home cooking
Draped on him before the ball arrives. No call
Whatever
It's like the old San Diego Chargers. Pass, pass, pass, mistake
he has to catch it
this is the big leagues, hit in chest
on defense, we ignore LBs
week in and week out, both glaring omissions kill this team
LBer was all over him! No way he could have caught that. Just a shitty call.....were 0-2 in Red Zone now and we're not getting too many more ops there!
Doesn't matter and you are missing the point..
1. Bad decision to go for it
2. Bad decision to pass to Tye
if Tye is good, I shudder to see bad
The oline has been disgusting this game.
Completely agree, that was always my bitch with Fassel also, and Mac sits there and says nothing. Need to be in their fucking ear calling them out for these non calls

Fucking terrible
EXACTLY!!!!!!
So fucking one sided
Com'on, the player have to shoulder the responsibility.
Yep. If they don't at least move him to the right side next year, I'll be amazingly disappointed.
Yea, and the announcers had the nerve to say Timmons had an excuse to complain!
Thats my take too
Snacks hurt his hamstring
Thanks. Didn't notice.
We do this so often it sucks!
Dont laugh... we might
He also has courage in the pocket.
Sorry not cutler or McCown
Good God.
Nobody in the same zip code.
This is bad coaching. No adjustment all season to the fact that we have so much difficulty covering TEs, especially over the middle.
They have 1. We have a uy named tye.
TEs aren't an important part of the offense anymore...
Good God.
JPP out, Hankins playing hurt, Harrison now playing hurt
We did on Green's 30 yarder at the start of this drive. Our shitty LB's don't do much any way so I'd fucking send them constantly.
Have yet to see one blitz today
i dream of a day that this team makes incorporating a TE on offense and stopping the TE on defense even the remotest of priorities.
They have 1. We have a uy named tye.
No it's been the QB. One has been good the other hasn't.
coming off to injury to our TE

It's not one mistake. It's a bunch of shitty decisions, bad long throws, bad short throws. And that "one mistake" happened to take points off the board. His performance has left the defense out on the field all game.
I like Eli, but he's been fucking appalling today.
Oh well, let's go back to patting ourselves on the back with the 8-4 record.

Like who?
Awesome int
Actually the Giants offense got together for an onfield pic before the game:
Eli and Co. need to step up.
He's really not bad at all, but is he better at Guard?
The stripes are black and yellow today.
Because he shook the tackle
Flowers. Again.
Two words: James Brewer.
.05 head
Yep. Pretty unreal.
he ia doing crap today
Sheppard was wide open. Eli just doesn't have the arm.
Didn't he only play 1 year of actual football and was originally a basketball player then jumped to the NFL?
I know! Our odds went from like 80% to 75% with this loss, it's totally over.
That was very poor and probably the end of the game with Pittsburgh close to another score now.....
We just

Flowers may also be the biggest first round bust this team has drafted in 20 years.

coverage sack or throwing it away is not in his wheelhouse.
He was completely out of balance on that throw. Nothing to do with arm strength
No one gets open and the OLINE blows.
No one gets open and the OLINE blows.

No one gets open and the OLINE blows.
BBI is fucking stupid.

Nobody said that he had to throw the ball that way. He could have set his feet but he is so fucking scared in the pocket now....
They're down by 2 TDs in the 4th quarter...
And if we don't get those then the offense is beyond dreadful.
And Mcadoo is an offensive coach? Dude is in over his head
Quote:
4th and a mile and we are getting on the qb for throwing an INT because he can't throw the ball 50 yards against his hody.

A mile? It was 8 yards. And noen of the routes were at the sticks.
Try 4th and 13. And he was flushed away. From where the receivers were. But carry on.
That would be fine to say and perhaps accurate but they've been doing it for years now. It's a problem that doesn't seem to get better.
He could have set himself.
Big Ben's arm is still pretty good.
The offense is better this year IMO. That "dynamic offense" was a mirage - we couldn't run the ball then and our passing game was worse. The schedule is tougher this year.
And we want a new coach? A new QB? People don't know what they are seeing.

I'm grasping at straws here...
He's still alive?
Makes sense. Only player on our O that puts any fear in opposing defenses.
True but why don't we target Cruz
HE thought it was to Tye
How do you pick it up after its called, unless your using the overhead replay which they are not supposed to
Because it was behind him. Stellar QBing.
Last year all we had was OBJ. This year it's pretty much the same. Depressing.
Left a lot of points on the field.
This O Line is putrid. This offense is putrid. Fuck everything
they can do literally nothing week in and week out.
were we always in range i forget but you make a good point
2) I'm pretty sure I heard the whistle blow on the sack before Eli was driven to the turf. Where's the flag for that. Our DL have been flagged for far less this season.
Is Gold that bad? field position screw ups aside.
Nice touch to a ridiculously officiated game.
Not happy with McAdoo at all either but we are not executing. That play the ball was not thrown really to either guy. He missed Tye. The play before it was high to OBJ but still should have been caught and wasn't. Not sure how you blame McAdoo for that
Quote:

No it was in front of him because he stopped, thinking Tye would catch it
You realize he's slow as balls and in the field on reputation alone, right???
Yup. Richburg looks like he's on skates, and Flowers looks like James Brewer. Can lock on going forward, but has poor feet. Might try him at RT, but he looks like a guard. Not a good pick by Reese.
57 yards rushing, just f-n great
Garbage officiating is the #1 reason their ratings are down this year.
Incomplete. 4th down.
2) I'm pretty sure I heard the whistle blow on the sack before Eli was driven to the turf. Where's the flag for that. Our DL have been flagged for far less this season.
The only thing that rivals the ineptitude of our offense in this game is the officiating. I'm surprised people aren't just allowed to shoot Beckham after the snap.
His tendency to play it close to the vest until he has to open it up has cost us all game.
Really getting tired of his play calling, it is abysmally bad for long stretches at times

This. You're allowed to do whatever you want to OBJ without recourse and I'm getting tired of seeing it.
the whole team is on their back.
and now you're seeing a tired and injured defense get gashed by 26.
Guys were open, the QB missed them all game. The offensive talent isn't very good, but lets not kid ourselves a halfway standard Eli performance put more points on the board.
I wonder how much of it is coaching. Are our guys really that much worse than 31 other teams?
Though LOL at the people who thought Seattle's line was worse than ours.

The refs are a disgrace. And our OL and Eli were an abomination.
Giants need to rebound next week!
I know the running game sucks, but on 3rd and long may fave picked a few yards to make 4th down more manageable

You understand that game has about a 4-5% net swing on us making the playoffs, right?

The int to Donnell was bad. But receivers weren't running open all game. Same thing every loss with some of you. It's called a team loss from eli to number 45.
I bet you seriously believe Shephard would have caught the td on thr 2nd int if eli could have set his feet, right?
Unreal.
Reese can't coach too, this is bad coaching. They can't figure out bad defenses.

I don't have an anti-Eli agenda. He's just turned in a terrible performance, you and Dep don't get to handwave that away on the rest of the offense. For all the talk about lack of talent, he missed OPEN guys at critical junctions.

So the offensive line played well. Lol. No one played well.
it just doesn't look like they're gonna figure it out. there's no rhyme or reason to anything they're doing. if not for a handful of flashy plays from OBJ and Perkins, this offense has literally nothing and no one is innocent.
the QB has played poorly. the WRs other than OBJ are non-existent.
Palmer throws it away. 3rd and 5. Can't give ball back to Skins.
Definitely a craptastic post, maybe the most craptastic post. Eli a coward? Wow
What would happen if Larry Donnell lined up against the Giants D? Divide by Zero?
I wouldn't say that -- our special teams weren't bad in this one!
We will get steamrolled by Dallas next week. No way we can beat Detroit. Redskins will throw for 400 yards on us. There isn't a win left on the schedule. The media will talk about our giant collapse, but it's been a consistent team all year. Just not a good one.

I'm not complaining cuz I knew this from the start. We are a 8 - 8 team playing a little better than expected.
We still need 2 oline upgrades and some professional play calling.
If badly means it changes our playoff chances by about 5%, then yes.

Eli is not good enough to make guys like cruz, lewis, tye, adams viable options. He int good enough to make the oline competent. If that's what we need, we are a far way from being a super bowl team.

Even with a the present line-up, Banks is right. He is paid VERY WELL to make plays. Shouldn't he make those plays? Maybe he should give some of that cap back so they can build him an oline.
Deservedly so.

Eli had 2 great seasons in this offense with less talent the last 2 years. This year really should have been his finest, not a step back. I put more of the problems on coaching though. I have not loved the offensive gameplans and playcalling for all but 2 or 3 games.
They should have just pulled the face mask. That wouldn't have been called.
Unfortunately, I think we only beat the Lions down the stretch. Then pray.
Why does everyone think the lions suck? Stafford is playing great. No way we beat DET.
Quote:
I disagree. I think this offense has plenty. I think the offensive gameplan and playcalling, outside of about 3 games during the winning streak, have left a lot to be desired.

Worse than Eli's play was losing JPP.

Yes, the O-line was really bad
I think you underrate some of these guys. They don't need to all be stars. They have enough talent, with OBJ on the field, to be a better offense than we had last year.
