This Offense is Broken

nyjuggernaut2 : 12/4/2016 7:34 pm
It's Beckham or bust.
Shepard has chipped in.
81_Great_Dane : 12/4/2016 7:36 pm : link
The tight ends make a play now and then.

Perkins is flashing.

But, basically, yeah.
Its broken because it has been

Since Mcadoo became OC. Its broken becasue aside of a bad Oline the Giants do not have an Offensive Cordinator. Its shows and thw league has picked it up already. Its embarrassing to have this many weapons and not be able to move the ball??!

Weapons? Think you mistakenly added a s to the word weapon
Offense has been broken all year!

Play calling and formations are stale and teams are just sitten on routes .
He made one good call today , the screen that went for the TD!
Bad Coaching staff

.
Yes weapons.
prdave73 : 12/4/2016 8:00 pm : link
Odell easily top 3 wr in the League, jennings, even though hes a bit slow still can be a productive back in the league with a solid Oline. I still believe in Cruz, yes he has lost some speed but i still think he can be a solid possession WR in this league. Shepard is only a rookie but shows so much potential! Great weapon any team in this league would so want and utilize his skill set! I can imagine him as a Patriot. Then you hace Eli who can still play imo. He just needs more protection. I truely believe this offensive can be deadly under a very good OC and a better oline.

He questioned what our other weapons are and you said as your very first example, our slow rb who can be effective in the right circumstances. That side of the ball is really hurting for playmakers. Paul Perkins, LD, WT arent playmakers.
Look the Cowboys are a good example of what im saying.
prdave73 : 12/4/2016 8:08 pm : link
They have a rookie QB who pretty good but wouldnt be nearly as productive under another team with a weak oline. Same with Elliot. Hes pretty good but would he be as productive if he where behind the Giants Oline?? No.. They have a good possession wr in Dez and a solid TE who's on the down side of his career. Other then that nothing on offense. So why are they so successful? They have a below average defense? Its there Oline period. Thats what makes that team so successful right now. Hell imagine Eli behind that Oline, with Odell to throw too?! Enough said.
Can it be considered broken if it was never running
jlukes : 12/4/2016 8:10 pm : link
to begin with?

Absolutely painful to watch this offense - you just have to cross your fingers and hope Odell breaks a big play - there's really nothing else to look forward to when we have the ball.
What he said ^
prdave73 : 12/4/2016 8:16 pm : link
Just think Patriots dont even have a number 1 wr like Odell, yet they somehow get the job done?! They utilize their players strenghs with the combination of good offenive playcalling..
I mean, we all knew the offense was bad, but to only score on a short
Jim in Hoboken : 12/4/2016 8:21 pm : link
field....that's just putrid.

While most of us understand that it's not prudent to replace McAdoo, and that's not the Giants way, but man what a disappointment this "offensive genius" has been all season.
I think the most logical way to change things up...
Vinny from Danbury : 12/4/2016 8:23 pm : link
is for Mac to give up his OC responsibilities. We're not getting any new players before this season is over, so it's the only way I see to maybe change things up before the offseason. But I expect Mac to be stubborn. and things will remain unchanged.
What is the game plan???
blueblood'11 : 12/4/2016 8:27 pm : link
Back in the day Giants fans used to love to bust on Kevin Gilbride and call him killdrive. In MacAdoo's offense you can call it NO DRIVE.

Gronk helps. And Bennett, Edelman and Blount are very good players.

So?
Next week is the perfect time

for McAdoo to let Sullivan call the plays. The win streak is over, and Sullivan's call will necessarily be unpredictable.

This. We heard more than a few times how enamored they were w this guy from day one. They fired TC for this guy. Anyone who thinks they would have hired anyone else this last offseason is kidding themselves. and as I said in another thread, I'm not so sure what makes this guy such an offensive guru.
You have one of the top three WRs in the league
Mark C : 12/4/2016 8:46 pm : link
on this team, and it basically takes an act of congress to get the ball to him. By contrast, look at Antonio Brown. Any time the Steelers wanted him to touch the ball today, he touched it.

The Giants start moving the ball, or maybe even get in the redzone, and suddenly Eli's favorite target becomes Will Tye. (Or is it the big clumsy linebacker that's covering him?) And it's not like he's checking off of other receivers, either. He just targets the least athletic skill position player on the roster, right from the snap. Amazing.
Our Offensive line STINKS
Bluesbreaker : 12/4/2016 8:48 pm : link
There is no flow to this offense NONE.......
Weapons ??????????
OBJ trying to get away from 3 defenders ..and not much else.
Cruz I am guessing he didn't play tonight .
Lets thrwow the quick out to our shifty speed demon Jennings .

The screen to Jennings was great each week we pull one play
out of the other 10 that we run that is different .
Eli played like crap and he is frustrated because he can't
even think about scanning the field and when he does no
one is running .
They have just about run this defense into the ground and
the injuries are starting to mount ...
Bad coaching?
XBRONX : 12/4/2016 8:48 pm : link
Lousy front office. One note Johnny. OBJ and crap
I challenge you to name one positive thing
KerrysFlask : 12/4/2016 9:05 pm : link
Mike Sullivan has done coaching in this league.
Terrible move naming him oc after mcadoo
Someone needs to smack Reese in the head
GeorgeAdams33 : 12/4/2016 9:32 pm : link
and tell the stupid moron to draft some real offensive linemen. This is why he should be fired and never work in the NFL again.
