Victor Cruz is upset

Cruz is the last guy that needs to be complaining about targets.

maybe he'll be able to get open and he'll get more targets.

Maybe he should enjoy his final games as a Giant without crying.

Not a good sign heading into the Dallas game.

why Eli is not throwing to him and I have to assume he's just not getting open. But to not even attempt a screen or quick pitch should tell us how this coaching staff feels about his ability to run after the catch. It's sad to say that he probably no longer has the moves and he will an off season casualty. I wish him luck because he's a good guy!

It has alot more to do with than just separation..

He can't play the slot and he struggles to get open. His circus catches down the sideline have been nailbiters and jump balls that Eli just throws up and hopes he gets it.

there are plays he's open. This offense is ridiculous, it always has been and has taken a step back without Coughlin. For a team that uses a 3 WR base to go entire games without targeting 1 of those receivers is stupid.

And how about trying Cruz in the slot? Is Shepard so good we can't even think about giving Cruz any snaps there?

This rant goes to Eli to. He's got a big hand in all this. A QB has lots of say about how good an offense is.

Hearing this is making me nuts. If I am a defensive Coordinator, I am leaving Cruz and Shepard alone and will double OBJ and the TE...then come after Eli.

and an overall lack of ingenuity by McAdoo. When Cruz was at the top of his game he was in the slot. But how often has he played there this year?

We line up in the same formation and do the same thing over and over again. No team lines up in the same formation more than the Giants and it isn't close. Defensive players and coaches are openly talking about it and taking advantage of it. You'd think we'd do something different--in week 12--and we still haven't. This is why we're 29th in plays per drive and 31st in T.O.P. Just another reason why he isn't getting targets. Lack of opportunities.

We couldn't get Sterling Shepard a target last week against the worst defense in the league. Is the rookie also over the hill, lacking separation too?

when the Y receiver gets 2 targets in 3 games. (Assuming OBJ is the X receiver.) Either the schemes are off, the decision-making is off, or the receiver needs to be replaced.

At this point, if they have to sit Cruz and play Lewis, fine. If Eli and McAdoo need to do some self-examination, fine. If they need to go back to the drawing board and put in some plays their personnel can actually execute, that's good too. But the status quo isn't working.

He can still play well as a third wr. This is more about gameplanning and qb play than anything. Shepard got no targets last week. Either Odell is always first read or Eli is not looking their way.

Is he a good value for money they are paying him? Maybe not but he is still serviceable as a player.

Doesn't hold blocks long enough for Eli to get to a 3rd read, and when he can either receivers not open or has no passing lane. Not sure if its the fork or my explanation, but likely a little of both. Does VC even have 12 catches this year?

Let's say we end up 10-6, that's a nice improvement and for a ROOKIE head coach? A pretty good year if you ask me.

For every 10 pass attempts, OBJ is the first and only read on 9 of them...The 10th and most critical target goes to Will Tye.

He is not getting separation snd his blocking is atrocious (on that quick pass to OBJ in the first half, Cruz literally put zero effort into blocking the DB on him who ended up stopping OBJ for a 3 yard gain).

Your right and on that note everybody thought that was cute of Eli to console Sterling Shepard something I've never seen before in the NFL.And I'm not the only one who feels like that because the question was popped to Aikman he said I don't care if it was Irvin or Harper he said he would never do that and I agree as a matter of fact prior to the game I told my son what's he going to do now apologize to Cruz now.....

He's out of position put him back in the slot I say he never really was an outside receiver let Sheppard spell him in the slot keep OBJ and Lewis outside !

Many of you think we are playing fantasy football. Or remember the 2011 Giants. Shepard and Cruz can still contribute. Most teams have little in terms of depth at wr.

I agree Cruz is not near what he was. Little separation and moves but still heady and capable of making catches. He made plenty of good plays vs New Orleans and Washington and dallas. Heck has made a long catch the last few weeks.

Shepard is an average 2. I agree these guys are all far too alike. Giants should have drafted a big wideout.

But as already stated, when offense is run in a manner that there are minimal looks for Cruz one week and Shepard the week before - it's probably a breakdown of the entire scheme. It leads to lots of three and outs and minimal snaps. Starts with the bad playcalls and the o-line.

Hard to believe Geremy Davis could not make this team and contribute though.

I agree about the lack of size , I am a bit miffed why
Davis was not given the chance we saw plays on the side lines
where he could use his size and had the ability to win
one on one battles . He wasn't a burner by any stretch but
he did have the ability to get deep . A guy that could
make the back shoulder catch that Eli always had a knack
for doing ... I hate this to step quick release shit its
not Eli's strength and it forces us to have to make many
more plays with no run game to many more chances for
error .
