He's by far our best RB and he can make things happen when he's on the field. He has good vision and quickness and if we stuck with him and the run I would expect the running game to get better as the game progresses. Instead he gets 1 out of every 3 series or so and can never get into any rhythm. He's also shown to be a good receiver out of the backfield and an above average blocker who seems to know and understand his assignments particularly well for a rookie.
We need to stop abandoning the run so quickly and allow it to get going. We all know that Eli is at his best when he can effectively run play action (also would help if he wasn't in shotgun every single snap). I don't know if allowing Sullivan to take over play calling will help but we need to figure this out soon.
I know, I know, let's not get crazy.
But neither of them is fast, elusive or powerful. Vereen in his short time playing this season averaged 4.7 yards per carry and 9.4 yards per catch.
I'm sure they could find half a dozen running backs better than Jennings on other teams' practice squads.
