and ignoring terrible play is a really bad strategy heading into a big game next week.
Venting after a game means he won't be prepared for the next game?
Putting aside the fact that he's right in the case. He was hit before the ball arrived several times tonight and they easily could've flagged the Steelers (Mitchell?) for a late hit on Beckham too.

go read his quotes never once did he say the officials were the reason they lost but when an official tells you to get "get out of his face" there is something wrong
It shouldn't be personal, it's just business and here that means stop mouthing off to the refs it's bad for business. You can just see they can't stand him.
If he was really told by an official to get out of my face when he asked for an explanation, that's totally unacceptable behavior by the ref.
Odell is probably hurting himself by complaining so much on the field but he did appear to have more than a few legit gripes. It's almost as if the refs felt he was showing them up or something and the more he complained the more they let go against him.

if an officual told him to get out of his face that means the official made it personal, especially if all odell did was ask for an explanation...
It is pretty obvious that OBJ has a target on his back by this crew. They caught a load of shit for what they allowed last season and you know they want payback.

Oh, stop. He gets up and yells every play. I am sure OBJ said to the back judge, hello sir can I have an explanation. He gets in their face all the time and they are sick of it. It is just stupid, he needs them and they don't need him. So, even if OBJ in that one instance was a gentleman, he needs to swallow his pride and just suck it up. his behavior toward the refs is indefensible. What he does with AB is his business and I can care less (except for the smiling after the TD), but getting on the refs bad side is just so dumb.
Steelers tactic was to pull down on the recevers arms prior to the ball being caught...
The NFL needs youngers officials,,,,,I watch a ton of College football and the games are better officiated by younger crews.
Today's game was disgrace.
This was 100% true. Pittsburgh was daring the refs to call it. Just like Mich St about 5 years ago, just like Seattle does today. Make it close as possible and see if they call it. Chances are they will not call a close one every time, hell, make it 9 times out of 10.
$25 says Shazier went right through Tye's back on the goalline 4th down play. In fact make it $100 he hit Tye early.
All it takes is one play to end a series. All it takes is one play to ruin a drive. Pittsburgh played it to the hilt.
an official should never officiate with a personal hate
even if obj scresmed and yelled in the officials face it should have zero bearing kn the next pkay, the minute an official officiates that way he should be fired...
first thing you are taught is officiate the game not the players, if they say something to you ignore it and move on...
that crew went into that game with the mindset of we are going to let pittsburgh play physical with obj and they let everything go

and that should have no bearing on how an official officiates a game..
my instructor when i was training, first thing he said the best officials are the married ones, because they know how to tune out yelling..
i dont care if a player is screaming at official, he is taught to ignore it
He was idiotic to let Norman get to him because it showed every other DB in the league that they could also get to him.
But when the refs start blatantly jobbing you, you have no choice but to make an issue of it. Media attention on the refs is what will rectify this situation--Blandino is not going to do it.
but we needed to be physical today and we couldnt do it
you shut their BS down by blasting a few of their guys with big hits, ala Banks and Taylor used to do
It'll be interesting to see whether the NFL will fine him
for saying what he said. Because the NFL has already taken video of his lockerroom comments and posted it on their Youtube channel. Link - ( New Window )
If you watch the youtube link provided (thanks for that), Odell says multiple times the refs aren't the reason they lost the game, and it's a pretty calm explanation that the Giants have to play through what he felt were missed calls.
That being said, he's getting fined and did himself a disservice in the future - he insinuated that this crew had a bias against him and that individual refs acted unprofessionally during the game. He's never getting a call from that crew again.
Wouldn't it make more sense to scramble them for every game? It seems to me that it would minimize collusion and group-think based on misconceptions or past history with a given team.

no, scrambling crews would make it worse, that is why blandino got shit fot making "all star" crews for the playoffs..
it is like a team you work better when you know the guys around you
