Yeah, that's the smart thing to do... shake up the line right before we play the Cowboys. Put someone with a bum knee who hasn't practiced at left tackle all year at LT.
Why stop there? We've got a few OL's on the practice squad. Let's start them and cut Flowers and Richburg and Jerry.
I think the feeling is 'we're not going very far" so do we want to settle for backing into the playoffs and quick elimination or roll the dice - risk being worse but look for a higher upside.
is healthy". Are you telling me you are confident with Flowers at LT...my God, man, he is awful and as I have been saying all year, he is playing out of position. This is one change...for that matter, I wouldn't be hesitant to start Beatty. I don't believe we would be any worse and yes, maybe this gets this guy's attention because all I hear is he is virtually uncoachable.
He refuses to fix his technique or work on it and we see the results. Do you really think the offensive line, as currently constituted, will help us make the playoffs. And, to that one person who mentioned we are in the No. 1 Wildcard position...not for long my friend with this OL. That will end on Sunday.

and there's one of the first schmucks to wonder if we'd be better off missing the playoffs.
How fucking hard is it to remember 2007 and 2011?
This is 2016.....this is a team that is coming off 3 straight losing seasons, and still does not know how to win games against the better teams of the league.....to compare this team to those other teams that knew how to win, is shear folly Fatman...
plays better at guard. If Pugh gets better he may need to take Jerry's spot to give us more pop in front. Also we need to have Perkins start the rest of the way. Jennings is a bit more consistent currently but he is not a starting RB in this lg.
LOL..

True. the 9-7 team of 2011 was a juggernaut. Even if they lost 5 of the last 8 in the regular season.
does having the 1st Wildcard position get referred to as "desperate times"?
that's where we are right now but do we wait until we are truly desperate to try and fix it. I might at least put Beatty in for a series or two to light a fire under flowers ass, he's GOT to do better if they are going anywhere.
Move Pugh to LT. He has the feet and technique to be at least adequate. Flowers is a big boy see if he can be your RG road grader. He is not a tackle nether LT or RT (if he can;t handle the speed rushers at LT, what makes you think he can at RT).
Look at this way, do you really think it's something that hasn't been fully examined by the brass/coaches? It has and he'd be there if it were the best solution.
we would be lucky to have Pugh dress for the cowboys .
If Beatty was ready I would do it in a nano second .
I will say Flowers has been getting picked on by the
Refs . But he clearly isn't the answer as of now but he
is all we got .
As for the the attacks on your post its the usual suspects
and some add nothing to the content but just throw cheap
shots while never going out on a limb .
The Front office clearly blew it on the O-line they are
incapable of having a clean scoring drive and the QB
is clearly affected by it .

If Pugh is a good NFL LT then that solves that, but I said and will take him as an adequate NFL LT. That is a step up from where we are now.
I don't think it will happen this year, but it is something to think of for next (if they don't find a solution via fee agency or draft.)

But if this offense doesn't find a way of sustaining A drive it will keep over-extending this D and put our playoff chances in jeopardy. I would rather not just "hope" they can play better-do something!

So I gather you've been at practice and are capable of assessing Beatty's status and ability to step in as a starter. I gather you've seen the info on Pugh's medical progress. And I gather you're enough of an offensive line maven to consider and reconsider all aspects of reconfiguring the offensive line with new starters and players coming off injuries.
We're 8-4 and contending for the playoffs, so maybe the times are interesting, exciting, nerve-wracking, and/or confounding, but desperate? Nah.
we had a hard time with the fucking Browns. You think we'll suddenly improve on offense and beat the Cowboys? We looked out of our league against the Steelers... This team is finished.
in regards to Beatty? Really? None? Should I point out that Beatty hasn't played a snap at LT in 2 years? Maybe plugging him into the role in December when they are 8-4 isn't the best strategy? Maybe juggling the entire line isn't a great move?
I understand frustration after a loss, but it never ceases to amaze me how one loss causes people to lose their minds.
But what I would do is start Perkins and Adams. This offense is pathetic and having these two play can't be any worse, I don't think, then playing Jennings and Tye. It's time to try something because we all know by now what they are doing on offense is accomplishing little. Jennings is better then Perkins on blitz pickup though Perkins is improving there and IMO,Perkins is better at everything else. At tight end,Tye is a backup,at best. It's time to see if we have anything with Adams. At least he looks the part.

people forget how awful that 11 team looked, they had 7 come from behind drives, no running game, mediocre defense and lost to a 4 win washington team at home week 15...
Manning throws 3 PICK SIXES in a horrifying Ass Kicking.
At that point, I KNEW they weren't going ANYWHERE in the playoffs, and then 3 weeks later, at 9-4, they lost to a 6-7 Redskin team 22-10.
The season was lost.
Bizarre how the last few weeks of the 07' and '11 seasons had the same incredible momentum shifts - the confidence that grew there can grow again - I don't think this team is any worse than those 2 at the same point in their seasons.
Time will tell.
If we lose the next 2 we can start calling things desperate Â

That was my first game at the Meadowlands as an adult. I will never forget sitting next to a little old man with a heavy accent. He turned to me and said we are never going to win it all. I said sure we will. And he said not with this idiot at quarterback. I told him we absolutely would, just not this year. Haha. I wish I could have talked with that guy after XLII.

Hopefully you guys don't run your work environment like this.........
We have 8 wins, and are the first wild card.
It's just a bad offense. All we can do is wait and hope they somehow miraculously start playing a shit-ton better than they have been.
Cause right now - that is NOT a playoff offense in any way, shape or form.

I have no fucking clue how that relates to Flowers. When Flowers violates team rules and isn't benched you might have a point.
Actually, it is fucking insane.

We're flawed, for sure, but you'd think we were 4-8 by some of the stuff I'm seeing.
This team has already exceeded the w/l records of the last three years. Just enjoy the ride, for God's sake.
Overreact much?
