Maybe 1 Eli Manning thread. Let me preface this by saying that I didn't expect to win yesterday's game and that 6-game winning streak, despite how ugly it may have been, afforded this team the ability to lay a couple eggs late in the season. If JPP comes back next week and we leave the game healthy, losing on the road to Pittsburgh isn't a big deal.

Back to my original point. This has been "Kill Ereck Flowers" day on BBI and I saw that nimwit Duggan posted an article with a click-bait title about how Flowers was holding the team back. (Remember he was the one who ratted on Flowers for pushing Ranaan earlier in the season).

I agree - Ereck Flowers struggled yesterday. There is no way to argue that. He's a 22 year old, second-year player, going up against the opposing team's best pass-rusher every week. He is going to have some bad games! There are going to be some ugly moments. He needs to cut down on the penalties. At the same time, he's done some great things this season as well and let me tell you what he's not -- he's not holding back this team's offense.

Despite that safety, we were down 5-0 driving down the field against a poor defense, in position to take the lead and Eli Manning through an inexcusable interception on 2nd and 4. That derailed the Giant's offense. That was a MUCHHHHH bigger play in the game than the safety, which we bounced back from quickly. Eli played terribly. He's not distributing the ball to enough different receivers, he's not hitting the big play downfield, he's throwing bad picks and making other poor decisions (i.e. the screen pass to Jennings split out wide).

Ereck FLowers is a second year rookie playing left tackle. Eli Manning is a 13 year vet making 24 million a year. He is the guy who needs to play better in order for this team to take the next step this year. Let's hope it happens and beat the crap out of the Cowboys Sunday!
