Other than the loss...Heinz Field is awesome,

The fans are great and Pittsburgh is a fun town.

My GF and I had a great time. The way the team displays the Super Trophies and "lockers" of their greats was way cool. They have a whole area of bars around the stadium where the places set up grills and bars and they just sell the food and beer. It's like a huge tailgate.

We stayed about five miles away from the stadium. We took a bus downtown and walked to the stadium from there. Maybe 20 minutes. Walked through the art district, across the river to the baseball park, then along the river to the stadium. It was real nice.

The fans and people everywhere were friendly and just fun.

I loved it and plan to go back for a baseball game this summer.
You'd think when we fell behind early

Oy vey.
I've only been to Pittsburgh once

and though the dreary weather at the time was a drag, the city itself seems awesome. It kind of reminds me of Portland.

Went to the game with a good friend who is a Steelers fan. I was wearing my Eli jersey.

First of all, some Steelers fans behind us commented that they had never so many fans of the opposing team at Heinz. So kudos to Steelers fans.

Nothing was ever over the top, but I got taunted for much of the game. It got to the point that as we were leaving, my friend apologized for the behavior of some of the fans.

Late in the game, my friend left to use the bathroom. Then the Giants failed to convert on fourth down for the last time, and Giants fans left in droves. I was the lone Giants fan still sitting in my area, and I became a lightning rod for the Steelers fans. Again, nothing over the top, but I didn't respond to anyone then, because I had a feeling if I did, someone would cross a line. Finally, my buddy got back at the two minute warning and called me from the aisle and we left.

Correction. Kudos to Giants fans.
I've done away games in

Pittsburgh, Buffalo, New Orleans, San Fran, Philly and Tampa. The Pittsburgh fans were the nicest and the stadium was the coolest. We probably had our best overall game day experience in Pittsburgh.

The city was alright, but I didn't come away thinking it was great. We probably had the most fun on the trip to Buffalo (went over the border a few times, so you know how fun that is). Obviously, San Fran and New Orleans trips gave us the best overall visits, but those games were atrocious (New Orleans was in '09 when we lost 48-27 and San Fran was in '11 when we lost 27-20 on that end zone PI no call).
All my best friends are steeler fans

Which has made a great week for me btw but they go to a home and an away game every year and I've went with them plenty of times and their fans are awesome and travel better than any fans in the league. I've been to a few "away" games for them that could've have easily been considered home games. One year in SD I swear the whole stadium was Pittsburgh fans
I'd say a good 35% it seemed giants fans

Just I never saw as many in other away games i went to as sunday.
I'd say also, it'd be interesting to had seen

If the Giants had won and we're in control the latter minutes, to possible hear a a loud "Let's go giants!" Chant in the stadium..I'm sure you would've heard that on tv.

Would've been awesome

I like the whole set up with the statues and the mini football field when you enter. And they host the radio pregame on the stage right there. It's a fun set up an atmosphere.
Thanks...disappointing

We couldn't hold up.
I have never seen so much blue at Heinz Field....it was kind of surprising considering when the Rangers play in Pittsburgh they have very few fans.
Where is their Bill Leavy statue?

Is it anywhere near the Lombardis?
The whole city is designed around the sports teams

Too boot. All the stadiums are central to everything and walking to the venues is a cake walk. And now they have the casino right next to the baseball and football stadiums. When I was there for the chiefs Sunday night game most of our group (30 plus) went to the casino the night before and later after the game. I didn't go because I didn't want to be hungover for the day of the game or the drive back to DC the next day. Next time I go back I'll definitely hit the tables.

They also have the Andy Warhol museum right there and my wife who is an art teacher really enjoyed visiting that early in the day. You can do screen printing and other fun activities. The city is a lot of fun. And if you're in your twenties or thirties it would be a blast to live there.
We had a great time.

That city has a lot of pride in their team and I love that. Growing up with all the different teams in NY we missed out on that type of city wide camaraderie. We ran into a handful of ignorant assholes that didn't like our Giants gear. (Mainly the mountain folk around the airport in Latrobe, a few in the city, none at the game though) But the vast majority were great, friendly, welcoming people. A bunch of people just stopped to shake our hands and thank us for coming to their town.

Food was ok and really inexpensive, as was the city as a whole. Meat and Potatoes was great! Thanks for the recomendation. Had the country fried pork loin with fried eggs and capers, and the chicken and waffles with half a fried chicken. Primanti Brother's was good, little touristy as warned, but huge sandwich for $8. Couldn't go to Pitt without going there right? Pamela's Diner had an A+, killer breakfast. Helped take some sting away from that beating we watched Sunday.

We were going to just Uber it to the game, but decided to just drive the rental truck and tailgate. With the chance of rain, and freezing temps it was nice to have a place to warm up throughout the day and be a hundred yards away from the stadium entrance/exit. Parked in the (Carnegie?) lot with lots of Blue, knew we'd be at home. It's what all the other Giants fans said they did too. Met some great, friendly fans on both sides grilling, drinking, tossing footballs and cornhole. Good post game party too. Grilling and drinking with very hospitable Pitt fans waiting for the lot to clear while my buddy went to the casino and hit for 2K.

Nice stadium. Good sight lines from the upper deck bleachers and lower endzone corner. Originally we were up in the upper deck but decided we had to move by halftime. The guy next to us was very nice but would not SHUT UP!! Just on and on about the local high school teams, and him doing his own play by play but really off! So we went down to the 100's section and tried to stand off to the side. Eventually the usher told us we couldn't stand there, so I said there were a couple of real drunk A-holes up in our section and we thought it was best to just move and avoid a "situation". It worked! He let us stand there and after a few minutes into the 3rd he showed us to 2 empty seats :)

Man, shitty game. I thought we were going to be in for a close one. Pretty much downhill after winning the coin toss. Giants fans had the D Fense chant going a bit for the first 2 drives but were very quiet after that. Between the COLD, the poor play and some seemingly shitty calls Giants fans were taken out of the game. I think for the most part the Pitt crowd was pretty quiet. Although the game being so one sided took some intensity away IMO. Definitely not the December back and forth slugfest I anticipated.

But man, I guess I see why they call it the rust belt. Outside of downtown that city looks like it is falling apart. It felt like the Penguins and Steelers are what held that city together.
