Oh ye of little faith:This team WILL bring home the Lombardi

Coach Mason : 12/5/2016 11:00 pm
Do we not remember some of the late season stinkers in both '07 and '11 that were far worse losses than this one?

This team still has all the makings of one coming together and making the big run and winning the Super Bowl this year. Eli is nursing something and will likely heal up, Vareen will come back, the OL with Pugh returning. Shephard and Perkins and Apple maturing as the season goes on.

Keep the faith BBI, this team is poised for great things!
I don't see it this year

The offense is ass

Definitely a super bowl caliber defense tho

But the offense is wearing them down.

JPP down already, snacks almost went down, Hankins got knicked up

It's 2008 all over again minus the great running game and OL

This year is absolutely nothing like 2008.

Yea true.

I guess my point is that the defense got gassed at the end of the year in 08, particularly the front 4. Past my bedtime
Yeah, maybe

But Kate's boyfriend will just dent the fucker, so what's the point?
I will take 10-6
RetroJint : 12/6/2016 5:53 am : link
even if it's a non-qualifier. 10 should make it but some tiebreakers are against them. As for the Super Bowl: winning in Seattle with their offensive line? Don't see any chance. The Giants would be compelled to win in Dallas and Seattle in all likelihood. Their offense stinks.
07 &11 have no bearing or connection

To this team. 07 Was not as flawed on offense and developed into the best team in the league

This team has been offensively challenged since game one and has gotten no better. They won t get better this year because they lack the personal.

They will do well to win 2 more games and qualify for the play offs. And please don't buy into the, "Once they are in you know what the Giants can do" refrain. This is a different team from those that s just magical thinking.

We had a poster "every four years" actually saying last year's version would win the Super Bowl.

When you make wild predictions based not on what you have witness so far this season, but on what happened 9 years ago, you sound just like Every four years.

The comparisons
LawrenceTaylor56 : 12/6/2016 6:59 am : link
to '07 and '11 gets nauseating when it happens every year. Everyone always tries to find a parallel to one of those two seasons.

We get it, everyone has a shot every single year. But to be honest, our offense has been dreadful all year and looks lethargic.
Let's just get into the first postseason first..

Nobody ever "sees" anything at this point.
Big Blue '56 : 12/6/2016 7:14 am : link
Let's "see" how these 4 games play out and "see" who "saw" correctly..😎
OP
Giants2012 : 12/6/2016 7:42 am : link
I believe mentioned this Giants offense as similar to the greatest show on turf in the preseason.

Lombardi!!!!!
I knew 2007
George : 12/6/2016 8:15 am : link
2007 was a friend of mine.

And this, sir, is no 2007.

Doesn't do any good to compare this team to those others.
jsuds : 12/6/2016 8:53 am : link
Fact is they certainly could win the Superbowl this year. Stranger things have happened. I'm just happy that at this point in the season I can still say "We shall see."

that's on good won lol
Love the optimisim coach...
Johnny5 : 12/6/2016 9:11 am : link
... and any other year I would agree... except this offense has been historically bad all year long including preseason. I just don't see this offense as able to do what it needs to do. The lack of T.O.P. and somewhat sustain a drive is killing the defense.
Oh, JerseyJoe....
arcarsenal : 12/6/2016 9:12 am : link
This is not a Super Bowl caliber team.

If you don't see it now, you're not going to see it until the season is over.
The only lombardi they will be taking home this year.....
thrunthrublue : 12/6/2016 9:38 am : link
Is lombardi pizzas.....
As long as the team continues
Beer Man : 12/6/2016 2:45 pm : link
along with this OL, I wouldn't count on it.
Nah
Joey in VA : 12/6/2016 3:06 pm : link
No chance at this point. Those teams had bangers on offense who carried us in the postseason when they had to, this team is too light in the pants on offense.
Forget about comparisons...
Milton : 12/6/2016 3:11 pm : link
When it comes to the unexpected, comparisons are reserved strictly for hindsight.

What they need is some good news in the health department and for someone to come along and give them that little added contribution that wasn't really expected. That's how you go from also-ran to Super Bowl winner in two months time.
not sold on the team for now
snickers : 12/6/2016 5:06 pm : link
Unfortunately, I am still not convinced. I could easily see us losing many of the remaining games on the schedule. The away games will be very tough, even Philly despite their record and knowing our lack of success when we play them. This week will give us some idea of where we are but unless we see real improvement on the offensive side of the ball, the loss of JPP will be even more pronounced. Dallas will score points and if we can not have continuity on offense, it could make for a long day and a long end to the season.
I just wish this damn offense was not so predictable. I still can call out the plays from my t.v. screen once I see the formation. Good lord, as a fan I never thought this could be possible.
I hope for the best but would not be surprised if the finish is mediocre and we miss the playoffs. Just my opinion, but in a league where offense rules and passing is king, we just do not have the makings of a team destined for success this year.
