NFT: Experience with any knock off go pros? or the real thing?

Ideally id like to find an affordable GoPro-like camera with a few basic accessories.

I just dont think I can justify 300-400 on a better GoPro.

Im really looking for good pictures and video. Im not planning on strapping the thing to my chest while I ride down a mountain on a bike, etc.

But definitely the basic qualities of a gopro I desire. (waterproof, shockproof, small, selfie stick mountable)

My friend uses these for a lot of hunting videos and things like that. He has used them for a few years, and never had any problems.

What are you using the camera for?

There are a ton of compact waterproof digital cameras out there, many for less than a GoPro. People use GoPros (I have one) because of their portability. They are easy to connect to a surfboard, bike etc. Unless you are set on having something that size, you can find a waterproof camera that will still take great photos/video.

Also keep in mind GoPros have fisheye lens. This is not always ideal for pictures. Basically you need to be very close to a subject, like a person, and you will get the fishbowl effect. Better for wide shots. The compact digital cameras would be better for pics of people etc.
