Zach Ertz Blocking

St. Jimmy : 12/6/2016 6:18 am
Check out the block by Zach Ertz on this play. They just signed him to a 5 year $42.5 million contract in the offseason.

Although it looks really bad...

...there were three Bengals coming, and he may have taken the half-step to the right because he wasn't sure which defender to block. Not good in any case.
That's the type of opportunity most players never pass up

Regardless of size difference that guy likely never saw him coming, he could have laid him out hard, or just allowed himself to be ran over and still protect his QB.

That was horrendous.
wow

Gonna be an uncomfortable week in the film room for Ertz, I'm guessing. That was pathetic. I've seen quarterbacks make more of an effort to block.

Actually it was Burfict and you can see him set for contact... he saw him alright. As soon as Ertz sees him lift his head he steps out of the way. Wow... that was pathetic... lol. Then again, it was Burfict... lol. Still they are probably the same weight.
Wow

That was brutal
Zach Ertz is 6'5" 250

Ahmad Bradshaw is 5'10" 210, and he would have put Burfict on his ass there. Bradshaw didn't back down from anybody.

For sure. I very much miss Earth, Wind and Fire.
Burfict even if he saw him still had a big chance of getting killed
Patrick77 : 12/6/2016 10:01 am : link
Proper form would be to square up but that's the type of chance where a hockey style shoulder to the chin or sternum would knock him down and out regardless of how tough Burfict may be. Hertz had all day to line up a kill shot if he wanted or just get in the way at the very least.
Cool now show me the gifs

Of him running free in our secondary last season
