We lost to a pretty good team in thier house

NYBEN1963 : 12/6/2016 10:33 am
No shame there...it would have been nice to have showed up better offensively but this is what we are at this point. Defensively I really don't have any problem with what I saw Sunday, this team is going to go as far as the defense carries them and that is a fact. Everyone expected the Steelers to score 30+ the score 21 plus a "whatever" field goal at the end. Coming into the season I thought we were a 9-7,10-6 team that would make the playoffs or just barely miss out. This team is right where most realistic Giants fans thought they would be and I'm not talking about the always negative "realistic" fans but the fans that look at the entire picture. This team is flawed but there are 31 other flawed teams our there some more flawed than others but flawed non the less.Let's hope JPP is ready to go for Sunday let's win these 2 home games and sweep Philly for the first time since the Kerry Collins era(it seems like anyway)and let's get ready for the playoffs. Giants on 3....1,2,3 GIANTS!!!!

It isn't the loss.

It's the weak, weak offense.

Something has to change, or we're one-and-done in the playoffs.
All sorts of noise this week

And disrespect being thrown the Giants way (even some from our own fans) after finally losing for the first time in 2 months. It will all flip and go back too far in the other direction if we beat Dallas Sunday (and I think we will). Don't bother with the noise. We're going to be a wildcard and we will be playing a beatable team on wildcard weekend unless we totally fall on our face. We will go from there and see what happens. It beats every year since 2011 just being in it.
I saw a ref

We didn't lose because of refs but officiating made it impossible for Giants to win.

it's not the loss that concerns me, it's how they lost.
I'm not sure..

it is how they lost that really matters. I mean for all of the hand wringing about how bad the O looked, they had a PI in the endzone on Beckham go uncalled that directly led to the INT and return by Timmons into Giants territory. They were penalized for a safety while the Steelers were not on an more egregious hold in the end zone. Will Tye was interfered on 4th and 2 that would've been 1st and goal from the 1.

You are looking at point swings there that tilt the outcome in their favor.

I would guess any team is going to look bad when their #1 target is held and interfered with, especially on key 3rd downs.

But that's the way things go around here. If the Giants switched places with Pitt and won that game, people here would say we had too many penalties, got lucky calls and non-calls and that we still didn't play very well.
Still

The defense needs to get off the field and cause more 3 and outs if not Giants will have limited possessions not a good thing with a shaky offensive line IMO.
Cool

and we barely beat one of the worst teams in football (the Bears) in our own house?
Agreed FMIC

The overreaction to games by fans is incredible. The steelers got blown out by a mediocre to bad Eagles team. These things happen. We were playing a team that is much better at home and that was probably more desperate than we were. These guys aren't robots.

all in all, we are 8-4. Any fan would have taken this before the season. There were a lot og holes on this team last year. We were able to fix an amazing number of those in one offseason. But there still is work to be done. It won't happen overnight. Enjoy the ride. IMO, we are ahead of the rebuilding process that we all knew or should have known had to be done.

True that and most everyone took the loss as just another
poor performance by the offense and the refs seem to have
an agenda dating back to how poorly they handled the
Carolina Game .
WE get Pugh and Vereen back and this offense takes off
and we Milk the Cowturds Sunday Night in front of God
and everyone else .
But the offense didn't take off
Doomster : 12/6/2016 3:04 pm : link
when we had Pugh and Vereen......this offense was in trouble in the preseason games....many fluffed it off as preseason.....it wasn't just preseason....
After watching tape twice
eliapple : 12/6/2016 3:04 pm : link
Eli doesn't get picked twice and Tye catches ball +21points
and Pitt -7 at least...we blow them out...Its mostly Eli.
Plus one or 2 penalties they screwed us on.
We have to beat Dallas. They are average on offense and
D is winning for them.

I am upset with how poorly we played and equally upset with the officials. Maybe even more upset with the officials. Those calls/non-calls had perhaps a 21 point swing in score (the hold led to +5 for Pitt; the no PI on OBJ led to as much as -7 for us and +7 for Pitt, the non-hold on Vernon in the end zone was -2 for us, and the non-PI on Tye was also as much as a 14 point swing). Then the BS picked up flag would have extended a drive in Pitt territory. Who knows what happens if even half of these calls were correct?
