So Apparently the Cowboys have won the division, #1 seed

ryanmkeane : 12/6/2016 10:45 am
As I read articles and listen to the media outlets across the country, it appears that Dallas has not only wrapped up the division, but the #1 seed as well. Well, not sure about everyone else but fuck Dallas and fuck their fans who all of a sudden are coming out of the woodwork to proclaim the Super Bowl trophy in week 14. Can we put this shit to rest and come out firing Sunday night already?? Holy shit. This is ridiculous.

It isn't about who's the favorite. I'm fine with that...just say "right now, the Cowboys are the favorites to win the division and #1 seed" - but no. Literally everyone is talking as if it happened already...that the game on Sunday night and the rest of the season are automatic wins.

faster they rise, the harder they fall. I don't believe this team will win the SB. I don't think they will be able to play from behind and pass the ball when needed down the field. Hopefully they are in that position.

I'm not crying. I'm trying to get some people fired up because apparently BBI is in full pussy mode lately.
The more important point

is that it's a good thing. Let Dallas get all the love in the world because if they don't win, it's going to be awesome.

Giants beat the number 1 seed Dallas in 2007 and number 1 seed Packers in 2011. Not saying Giants will do it this year but some other team damn well might.
Let them talk.
NorwoodWideRight : 12/6/2016 11:08 am : link
If we play them in the NFC title game and beat them, it makes all of this the more sweeter. If Dallas wins out and takes home the Lombardi, they were preordained to do so, so no skin off your back, right?
Yeah, the media is nuts
Giants2012 : 12/6/2016 11:10 am : link
Dallas might even make the playoffs
Let's be realistic here
SickBoy : 12/6/2016 11:20 am : link
And pull your heads out of your homer asses you bunch of idiots. Even the most optimistic of Giant fans must ask do we honestly pose any sort of threat to what Dallas can bring ?

I think a lot of questions were laid to rest after the stinker put up Sunday vs Pitt the first viable opponent in 6 weeks.

To think the offense is going to simply flip a switch like we have all collectively held our breath waiting dating back to the preseason, will not happen in 2016.

Missing key components and misuse of personnel will doom any chances.

I am awaiting the next headlines about the great divide btw O and D in lockeroom. At some point the O must pull there weight.

We did beat Baltimore, a team that the last I looked was tied with the vaunted Steelers.

And that pesky point that we've handed Dallas their only loss.

I have to deal with all their idiotic bandwagon fans that I know. It sucks that my main business account is based in Dallas and has 23 locations through all of Texas. I have to hear from a bunch of casual NFL fans that don't know shit about football. I actually had one guy tell me that the 2007 SB we won should have an asterisk because of a lucky catch...LMAO

They already won the SB to these idiots, if we lose next week it is really going to suck

But after Sunday it's time to be realistic. We're playing for a Wild Card. Dallas is having a hall of a season. Ya never know, sure.. but it ain't happening lol
Dallas has won a lot of close games and should win the NFCE
PatersonPlank : 12/6/2016 12:17 pm : link
However, I still think the Giants are as good and I do believe we will win this week. We are 8-4 with a win at Dallas, and over Baltimore, Cincy, Philly, and others. The loss at Pitts was a tough spot for us and I expected it. In no way does it change how I think we will finish. We can win every remaining game.

I agree with this a lot. We've played two teams in first place right now and beaten both of them. Yes, we lost a few games against good teams. So has like 27 other teams. It's not like we haven't won any, either.

If JPP plays I think we win. I like the way we match up against Dallas.

Without JPP though, there's no reason to think Zeke won't beat up on us like he does everyone else.
Its better this way.
penkap75 : 12/6/2016 12:47 pm : link
Eli era Giants have never handled success well (e.g. 2008 post Superbowl team).

We do better when we are counted out, with our backs against the wall, after everyone has jumped off the band wagon (2007,2011).

Not saying we are comparable to 2007,2011, but at least we have a defense, and thats what wins championships.
I don't think we beat Dallas
Doomster : 12/6/2016 1:31 pm : link
even if JPP is 100%.....

I don't think this line stops Elliot, if they can't stop Bell....And I think Elliot will be dangerous on short screen passes....

I think their game plan will be similar to the Steelers....expose our linebackers and safeties.....

And the Dallas Defense, while no juggernaut, has given up less points than the Giants.....they are better against the run, and weaker against the pass....

The only way I see us beating them is, we have to see an air attack that we haven't seen for 12 games......and that conservative offensive book, has to be thrown out the window...

We are not playing two rookies in their first game this time.....Dak has more plays at his option, now.....both he and Elliot are playing with confidence.....and I think, he is going to have all day to pass, because the Giant rush has to cover lanes, so that he can't run on them.....if the Giants blitz and don't create pressure, it will be a disaster in the passing game for us....

The fact that JPP probably may be done for the season, makes this game all on the offense, because Dallas is going to score it's share of points.....

It's reality time.....yes, the Giants have improved over last year.....but they are not there yet.....this offense has to be fixed first....and the defense still needs linebackers and safeties.....and what do you try to resign JPP for, after this happened? Do you pay Hankins big bucks? There is not enough cap space to fix everything.....
personally I think
mdc1 : 12/6/2016 1:48 pm : link
we are underestimating the Dallas team we beat in game 1 with a rookie QB in his first game. Dallas is likely 2 TDs better than us with us playing ok without mistakes and an offense that can find ways to score. If our offense repeats what is going on for quite some time now in terms of NO improvement we are in for a long day.
Giants will play them tough next week. Hopefully we scratch the
Jimmy Googs : 12/6/2016 1:54 pm : link
game plan where we only target OBJ once in the first half as that seems to help out the other team more...
If the Giants
Gman11 : 12/6/2016 1:59 pm : link
were 11-1 and the media was slobbering all over them you'd be saying how right they are.

They are 11-1. They have first place in the division all but sewed up. The closest team to taking #1 seed from them is Seattle at 7-3-1. So, yeah, unless they fall apart and lose 3 of the last 4 they'll have the #1 seed also.

Plus, it's the fucking Cowboys so the media slobbering is usually multiplied by two.
I sort of call..

We are 8-4 and all the fans can talk about is how shitty we are. If we were 11-1, we'd probably say we were doing it with smoke and mirrors obscured with McAdoo's giant chinese menu of plays.
Well, Fatman
Gman11 : 12/6/2016 2:15 pm : link
They did lose that one game...
Let's be real here for a minute
The_Boss : 12/6/2016 2:36 pm : link
Dallas is 11-1 and we are 8-4. The NYG were fortunate to win down there in week 1. If the receiver does the right thing and gets out of bounds, Bailey likely wins it with a long FG. The NYG won though and you take it and run. That being said, since week 1, Dallas has yet to lose and has been flat out dominant while the NYG have been up and down. There's no debate here: Dallas is the better team by a healthy margin right now. And our best DL is likely not gonna play and that sucks because JPP treats Free like his bitch. I think it's going to be similar to last week in Pittsburgh: the NYG will keep it close, but probably lose late, possibly by a Bailey FG at the gun.
They've been dominant??
FatMan in Charlotte : 12/6/2016 2:42 pm : link
They came back to beat the Redskins twice, went to OT with the Eagles. Had a late FG in SF to go up 7 and had to withstand a late drive. Held on to beat the Vikings on a late 2 point attempt, and needed a TD run by Elliott with 35 seconds left to beat the Steelers.

I'm not saying Dallas isn't better than us, but let's not make them out to be the Patriots of year's past, or even the Panthers from last year.
Fatman,
Doomster : 12/6/2016 2:49 pm : link
I don't think anyone here is describing the Giants as "shitty"....

This team has taken a huge step forward this year......one thing we had to avoid to maintain that defense, was avoid injuries, because we have no depth.....we have lost Thompson, and now possibly JPP....and some starters are playing with injuries.......

The offense has been a huge disappointment.... they have taken a big step back from last year.....

This is not a shitty team, but a 6 game winning streak will give false hope to fans, for a team which not ready to make that step to the next level......

The defense still needs improvement at linebacker, and FS, and depth....

The offense needs a 3rd wr, fb, TE, OLmen, RB.....

We still are not just "few" players away....

and then we have our own free agents to consider...

So, there is still some work ahead for this team.....I just think most of BBI has overestimated what this team is capable of doing......far from being shitty.....just not on the same level as the contenders....
Who exactly..
FatMan in Charlotte : 12/6/2016 2:55 pm : link
are "the contenders"? Every year, we see teams who fit the same profile as the Giants make the playoffs and have as good a chance as any.

Dallas is "a contender" and we beat them. Baltimore is a contender, and we beat them. People look at this team in a vacuum and assume we are the only team that has a decent record with warts.

I'm not into prognosticating and fortune telling. All I know is if you get to the playoffs, you have a chance. And if that means doing it with all those holes you've stretched to say we need, then what does it say about those teams that aren't going to make it? To start the year, Arizona and Carolina were "the contenders". How's that working out for them?

Dallas is one of those teams that finishes the season with the best record but won't do anything with it. Like that year the Chiefs had Steve Bono or the Titans had Kerry Collins.

I actually think this Giants team is generally pretty good except for one major flaw (the OL) that is impacting everything. And I'm very happy with McAdoo.

they were never down points in the thanksgiving game against the redskins and scored on every drive after half time.

wins are also hard to come by as every team outside of dallas, oakland, and new england knows.
