In my usual commute car, I have Sirius and alternate with NFL/Howard Stern.
However, when the weather is shitty, I drive my SUV which has no satellite and only hast regular radio and Boomer and whoever his douchbag partner is absolutely horrendous. Usually end up popping in a CD.
You know your show is bad when your football show that's on the only football network needs to be rebranded. Not that I like Good Morning Football that much either but NFL AM was painful even when the topic was the Giants.
Are you joking? Greenie is among the biggest Giants haters on the planet and makes everything so dramatic and Golic, while I generally like him, is not what I'd consider a "thought leader" the quality a nationally syndicated morning show should have.
Toucher and Rich in Boston on CBS Sports Boston are the best morning show around now that Stern is on satellite and I don't really count him anymore.
I get better info here and I get to pick and choose what I want to consume.
I was coming on this thread to say the same thing
Haha, and to go a step further I'll say that I don't even like the concept of sports talk shows or radio much anymore either. I'll listen to Francesa for 10/15 minutes out of the sheer hilarity of how he treats his callers, but that's about it. Sports is everywhere all the time and you practically trip over all the coverage. Listening to people talk sports has lost its luster.
If I want to listen about X's and O's from guys that are paid to watch film and understand the game at a deeper level, I'll put on a podcast. If I want something more satirical and light hearted about sports, I'll put on a podcast.
Don't find radio shows entertaining or thought provoking, especially in the morning. I'll infrequently listen to Russillo and Kannel, who I love but I feel like they can't really dive deep and say the things they really want to because they work for Disney.
a football player - is pretty fucking bad too. The guy offers almost zero in terms of insight, aside from some locker room rah rah kinda bullshit that everyone already knew.
I didn't realize just how bad they were until I started driving to work two days a week. Before that, I couldn't understand why someone would pay for a subscription to Sirius radio, now it seems like money well spent.
"Morning Men" on Mad Dog Sports radio. The worst sports show any medium that I've ever heard. Apparently it's wildly popular but for the life of me I don't know why. Mike Babchek is the absolute worst. Classic guy who thinks every word that comes out of his mouth is hysterical.

It's a professional troll team and a morning show, not a sports show. I give Boomer a pass sometimes because you can tell at times he gets really annoyed with Carton and the producer.
and have given Boomer & Carton a chance a few times.
Carton's generally as bad as everyone says, but one thing that surprised me - maybe I didn't realize this in the past, but Boomer comes across as pretty bitter quite often.
He can't hide his Yankees hate/jealousy, and he's definitely still raw that he's not considered a famous NY athlete the way many other guys like Clyde, Strahan, and even Simms are. He mutters a lot about how bad the Jets were when he played there, to make sure everyone knows it wasn't his fault they sucked.
You can also tell he loses patience at times being the one who's supposed to laugh at Carton's pee-pee jokes every morning.
I find him a decent football analyst type on TV, but he's really pretty bad on their morning show.
before but if you want a hilarious/satirical take on sports where people can say whatever the fuck they want listen to Pardon My Take. They had an episode with Pugh and Newhouse that was hilarious. Interviews are great because they don't come on and say the stereotypical athlete interview BS they saw on ESPN and similar networks.

and it's been bad for a long time, but I hate how bad sportscenter has become. I watch it from 8-8:20 while I'm on my way out and it's insufferable. Just the inane nonsense.
I wish there was something else I could put on to just see what the top stories in sports from the night before.

Mike & Mike is awesome.
That woman on that show looks just like my ex girlfriend
NFL AM was the hottest of hot trash, though.
Cold Pizza wasn't good, but at least was trying something new at the time so I give them credit.
Unlistenable, how do they stay on the air? Eveyone I talk to hates them, especially Carton the douche!

Pretty much this. I don't listen to anyone anymore. And take a drink every time Golic says "listen" before presenting his argument/retort.
