Raanta in.
Haven't seen anything definitive on the lineup. My guesses are Nash/Peumpel/Vesey out, Grabner/Jooris/Jensen in. Heaven knows what lines you make from it. (Decent chance Vesey plays, I suppose, but I'm preparing for the worst).
Kreider Step Zucc
Miller Hayes Grabner
Fast Lindberg Hrivik
Jensen Jooris Pirri
No change to the D, because they're awesome.
Looks like there's a good chance Scheifele misses the game.
Gonna have to play some D, hope for some goaltending, and grind out a couple wins for the next week or two. Let's see if we can get something from even just one of Lindberg, Jensen, Hrivik, Jooris, Pirri
Let's fucking go.
He's legit, best Fin since Selanne IMO, so fitting he's a Jet.
with his size and skill he's got a good future.

is on par with all the elite young talent I've seen, maybe a shade less than McDavid, but I'd rather have him than Matthews.

I think I agree with you, and he already has one of the best wristers I've ever seen. He shoots angry. Habs gonna make any moves with Galy and Desharnais out 6-8 weeks?
Yes first to worst. Chucky was probably most improved player in the NHL through two months. After Price, he is probably the player they could least afford to lose.
I can't stand Desharnais, but losing another center compounds the problem.
Only name I've heard is Martin Hanzal. I hope they don't trade for him.

Nobody asked for your opinion, scumbag.
Well there is a talent issue now given all the injuries. Realistically you look at the next 8 games in next 13 days, almost all of them except tonight against likely playoff teams... given how banged up we are i'd be thrilled with 8 points in these 8 games.
Kyle - I almost give up at this point with getting that third point. It's been 3 or 4 straight years now - something about AV's style of play, I cannot put my finger on, that is driving an insane % of games decided in regulation, for better or worse.
The Buffalo game still really pisses me off - up a goal with 7 and change left... that should never ever become a regulation loss in this era of lower scoring hockey games. We take far too many risks late in games, i guess.
Last year's Edmonton and NYI (home game in march i think it was) were also ridiculous - come back to tie with 2 minutes left to go in regulation... lose in regulation anyway. WTF.
Do you happen to know what the numbers look like if you include all OT games and not just losses? Maybe it's just some negativity bias, but it feels like the rangers have gone to OT a lot less than others and been pretty bad when they've gotten there (particularly in the shootout)
Quote:
We had 9 OTLs last year. 10 teams had more, though 6 of those were 10-11. Year before we had 7 which was on the low side, but 13 teams had 8 or fewer OTLs. Year before that we had 6 which was the fewest in the NHL, and only 4 teams had 7. That's the AV era.

No,I just did a quick peek at the standings.
Sadly true.
First two words of this thread. Just go ahead and tell hoya you think he's irrelevant next time, sissy.
And the shoot out is such a joke. It would never happen and you would subject guys to injury but run the regular season as you would the playoffs. Run a 5 v 5 OT for 20 minute periods until there is a winner. Winner gets 2 points/loser gets 0. If the team has a game on back to back nights, play some of your extras. Maybe teams will try to secure their games earlier.
The NHL's regular season game is the only game where overtime is handled entirely different than the playoffs.

Hey fat boy. I don't care about what that Georgetown cum dumpster has to say. F him and his bullshit musings.

Uncalled for!
I'll watch the games when it's convenient or when there's a bigger matchup, but I've got little kids and therefore little time, and the program has done nothing to justify me making it a priority to keep up with.
I save my bullets for rangers/giants/yanks and occasionally knicks

Thanks... and fixed this for you. Confirms my suspicions. Never kept us out of playoffs (yet), but the distortion has created a cup champion (Kings) and screwed up seeding a ton. Unfortunate, but as you say above, not changing anytime soon.
Besides... these are the rules so we should adapt. Why are we playing such a risky game late in 3rd periods (to be fair, we've won 2 Carolina games and Edmonton game late this year too... maybe others i cant recall) but it seems - ESPECIALLY last year -- we give up way too many late regulation goals.
My hypothesis is its a mix of style, a bad defense, bad luck... and i hate to keep pounding on who is genuinely my favorite hockey player since the early 90s... but #30 could be a little more Eli less Peyton when it comes to late and clutch.
I think a lot of it has to do with the Rangers just winning games in regulation more than anything.

I think they only have one loss this year when leading in the third period

Don't the Rangers blow leads at a below average rate relative to other teams?

Thats fine but they blow (or win) tie games at a very high rate relative to other teams late in 3rd periods. At least the last two years anyway. I dont recall 3-4 years ago.
But just for reference, dont know why but i just checked the standings and was a surprised the 12-13 devils with two games in hand are only 5 points back of us.
Why? Because somehow they've pushed 13 of their 25 games to OT already (they are 7-6). So basically a team with 5 regulation wins all year to our 17 is within a cunt hair of passing us anyway. That makes sense.
To date the NHL awards 2.52 points per Devils game versus 2.04 points per Rangers game.
Anyway, enough of this but i'm continuously fascinated by it... kind of like hudson with crowd splits i guess. On to the 'Peg.
I think the (seeming) increase is because of the deterioration in the defense. I also hate AV's shell.

Wake up.
Injuries suck. And this compressed schedule is embarrassing
Hutchinson. Sorry
Now you get the PP here.
Back at it tomorrow night. I don't know what it is with this team less than 5 minutes to go in regulation of tie games lol. You know one team is lighting the lamp. Glad it was us tonight.
