CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Postgame vs. Dallas, Dec 11, 2016

Q: For you guys, when Odell breaks free there, what’s that feeling like?

A: Great feeling. Anytime he breaks free. You go up 10-7, and now the game’s on you. You’ve been playing solid the whole game and now you’ve got to have that mentality and go out there and make a stop.

Q: You guys have had some great defensive performances this season, you did it in the first game and now without JPP. What’s that say about this defense?

A: Oh man, I just think it was really just everybody doing their job and stepping up and playing that much harder. To see JPP on the sideline and before the game, he talked to us and said just go out there and do your job and just play hard, man, and you’re going to come out as victors. So the main thing, that’s what we did.

Q: You also got big games from a couple of the replacements…Devon Kennard had a big game, Romeo Okwara had a great game…

A: Oh, yes sir. We know one thing about Kennard man, he’s a hardnosed football player. You put him at any position, he’s going to go 100 percent in. Even with Romeo being young, he is big, physical, and he’s a guy that learns the play book, came in, gelling well and he’s going to play hard. It’s not a JPP, but at the end of the day, you still have guys that can play.

Q: This team has only lost twice and it’s both to you guys. What does that do for your self-confidence?

A: That confidence lets you know you’re right there amongst everybody else. You’re one of the top teams, you just have to go out there and prove it every week.

Q: How would you describe the team’s defensive effort today?

A: Ah man, I would just say relentless. You know, just staying after guys. Kept playing and kept coming and kept coming and look at the end on the score board when it’s zero-zero.
