How do so-called experts get paid? Zeirlein on our needs!

23. New York Giants
2016 record: 11-5 (.486)
Top needs: LB, RB, DT
Analysis: The play at linebacker hasn't been what the Giants had hoped for. Paul Perkins might be a committee running back, but the Giants could use a hammer at that position. The Giants have never shied away from taking defensive tackles.

Not one mention of OL, WR or TE????? WTF? It's not that LB and RB couldn't use (or indeed need) improvement. But I don't think any of us would neglect OL, TE and WR in prioritizing needs, and we don't get paid to do this.

Stuff like this always amazes me.
Wow!! Some "expert" thinks the Giants need a LB

Never saw that coming.

The argument is that we had a top ten offense last season with this OL. while OL has always been a need we have some young guys there that could still develop. LBer and RB has been a hole for a good while, especially LBer. I dont mind his analysis. I think they add an OL or two, but i would love a LBer in round one or two. that being said, it doesnt happen. we look TE/WR/RB rounds one and two and improve OL through Free agency
Not as bad as it first looks

DT? Maybe if we don't sign Hank.

It should be something like this.

1> OT 2> FS 3> RB 4> TE

Didn't we lose our 4th round pick or get moved to last?
We have plenty of FS.
Listing or top 3 needs w/o mentioning OL is a failure.

Not noticing that the offense was pathetic primarily because of OL, WR and TE deficits is awful.
A DT--- that can collapse the pocket
old man : 1/9/2017 7:32 pm : link
may not be an outrageous call in a draft stronger on D than O and weak on OTs at 23.
Though I still push for at least the best available T, or a trade down if possible, for a powerful G, or even a bigger, stronger, than WR, C, if there are any(left}.
To answer the question:

Draft and FA
Earl the goat : 1/9/2017 7:38 pm : link
1. Ryan Ramcyzk. LT
2. Donta Foreman RB
3. Jordan Leggette TE If he lasts

FA. Would not pay JPP. To risky. Sign Hankins and maybe go after Melvin Ingram from the Chargers
I like your thinking

I am not as sure about JPP Pass Rushers that can play the run and block kicks don't grow on trees I think they need
to find away to keep him not to mention his determination
and dedication .

Ramzyck is not likely available at 23rd overall neither is Foreman at our second pick and no way Leggette is slipping to the end of round 3 so then what?

I was going by CBS prospect ratings. But I didn't realize you knew more than the experts

I think Lb is a bigger need than Wr or te
superspynyg : 1/9/2017 9:43 pm : link
But I have always been in the minority on that.
Sy, I'm a smidge less concerned about DE than you, IF we re-sign JPP.
yatqb : 1/9/2017 10:12 pm : link
But otherwise I agree with you. It can never hurt to have a ton of pressure on a QB.

Understood. Im not high on JPP and I am overly biased with compiling pass rushers
What do you think of Walker in comparison to Charlton?
yatqb : 1/9/2017 10:46 pm : link
He seems stronger and to hustle more than Taco, but he is thought to be an early 2nd rounder, so he's not likely going to be a target for us unless we trade down.

They will be close grade wise to me. But I think Charlton will be a top 20 pick...his upside will intrigue a lot of teams. He has some freak in him.

Walker is a blue collar, versatile type. Not sure he has a true position though. Which can be a good or bad thing depending on scheme.
Walker reminds me a bit of Brandon Graham.
yatqb : 1/9/2017 11:16 pm : link
I think he could play DE for us; in the games I've seen he's strong against the run and on the rush. Do you think he's more of a SAM in a 3-4?

I think his best role is a LDE in a 4-3.
Makes sense to me...why'd you say no position, then?
