I had a busy start to the work week, got better sleep last night.

I was starting to put it behind me and then that pic took me back to the first half. Painful.

6-0 lead. Could have done more but Rodgers and the Pack couldn't seem to do anything. That long strike to Tye had me thinking the Packers D might be in for a long night. A couple of plays pulled out of the ass of Aaron Rodgers and that was that.

This weekend will help, oddly enough. A few more teams getting knocked out of the tournament, one especially will go a long way to help transition into the offseason.

The weeks and months without Giant football are terrible. The season is like an old friend that comes to stay for a few months and then has to leave abruptly.

As much as it pains me to say it, this loss has been rough to get over because of how well we played in that first half until the hail mary. I'm with you, this week has sucked knowing we're done now.
It's a tough loss to swallow.

It felt like we had them beat right away. If we could have just cashed in offensively when those chances were there early on, I really think the score could have been completely reversed.

The mistakes and the hail mary changed everything. Losing DRC was a backbreaker, too.

Trying to just get over and be done with it but the final score really was not at all indicative of how this game could have gone if we hadn't let them hang around the way we did.
This loss hasn't been that hard on me.

I guess because of the performance of the offense, my hopes weren't all that high. Then, when we had to settle for 2 early FGs, that pretty much confirmed that we weren't going to win for me. As great as this defense is, you are not holding Rodgers down for 4 quarters in Green Bay. Especially not when your offense is already off and running to settle for FGs.
That game, and our season

Changed in the most crushing 2 minutes and 30 seconds of a first half I can ever remember.

Rodgers runs around on 3rd and goal and finds Adams.

Rainey gets stuffed on 3rd and 1. Punt.

Hail Mary.

Yes, we had a nice short yardage stop and the quick strike to King, but those were gone like a fart in the wind.
All these NFL memes

we basically knew the offense had to play a perfect game....first half, 2 drops by OBj, 2 drops by SS, penalty by flowers....fg's instead of td's.....a horrendous attempt on 3rd and one....short punt by Wing....even with a 6-0 lead, you just had a feelin'.....and in a matter of 3 minutes, the game changed...and with Wade in the game, it was just a matter of time...

I am hoping Klaatu sells his Grandmother's rice pudding recipe on Ebay, to defray the cost of getting an OL for Eli....
Try to remember these 2 facts:
mrvax : 1/10/2017 10:18 pm : link
1) 31 of the 32 NFL teams go home without winning the Super Bowl.

2) The Philadelphia Eagles have never, ever won a Super Bowl and never will.

It's all good. 😊

I was over it

the minute it ended. Because 11-5 and a playoff game beats 6-10 EVERY. FUCKING. TIME.
I enjoyed the season thoroughly

Hope you guys did too. Don't get so caught up in the playoffs that you forget how nice it was to watch a kickass Giants defense for a few months.
I'm in the camp that it was hard because it slipped through

our grasp. The thing to remember is even if we had gone up 17-0 in the first half somehow, Rodgers has been on fire lately and there's no telling if we could have held him off.

Still, opportunity lost is always tough.

I just hope Rodgers is as good as we think and has his way with Dallas.
Its tough.

I am honestly having a tough time knowing I have to route for Green Bay. I will of course, cause fuck Dallas, but yeah that was just a bullshit performance by this team. Too many mistakes and missed chances. We needed a solid performance from everyone to beat Green Bay. I am glad Eli showed up though.

This was one of those games where you can objectively say the score did not tell the entire story..We had the Packers looking for a jole to hide in. We were battering Rodgers and making him look like people have asserted Eli has looked this year-skittish..Then the Wing punt and the hail Mary..Even the Packers felt that after the hail mary, the Giants mojo completely changed (even though it was still only 14-13 in the third)..

Sure, we should have put up the points in that first half, but the mistakes that have haunted us all year occurred once again..

Usually a 'blow-out' is the way I want to lose IF WE ARE GOING TO LOSE. This one hurts..
Monday morning was brutal

I love being in the playoffs, I forgot how much it sucks when we lose in the playoffs. Especially the first round and how we lost. I was so flipping angry all Sunday night and most of Monday.
great players can carry a team

The Pack had the best player on the field and a bunch of pretty good to very good players that did their job. Sound familiar? It should. They are a carbon copy of the 2011 NYG.

The Giants got beaten by the better player. We have been on the right end of that before.

I only ask one thing--knock off Dallas. Do that and this season is just fine. It ended badly but the Giants got a lot of good out of this season. They will build on it.

The Pack were better. Just like the Giants were better in 2011.
honestly

I do agree the HM was the back breaker but I had a sinking feeling before that pass left Aaron's hands. I didn't like how the game was going once we left pts on the board, something we have done all year long. As the early part of the game progressed I held out hope that the D would play at a heroic level but as the minutes ticked by you could see that Rodgers and their offense would find their sea legs. You don't shut out Rodgers on the road. You judt don't. The 85 Bears aren't going into GB and shutting out Rodgers.

Our goal next year is simple. Win the NFC East and a 1-2 seed and get the bye week. Host that first playoff game. This 5 seed crap isn't going to cut it no matter how many people insist on conjuring up memories of the 2007 Giants. Win the East. Let Rodgers come to JErsey next January and then we will wipe him the fuck out.
