NFT: Packers Petition to Get Rid of Joe Buck and Troy Aikmen

mavric : 1/11/2017 9:11 am
This made me laugh. Packer fans think Buck and Aikman root against them in the booth. Can't make this crap up...lmao
Packer fans start petition - ( New Window )
Those two are OK as long as they're not doing a Dallas

or NFCE game.

The second they do, Aikman goes full homer. I've noticed it in games where the Giants aren't involved. Get them away from the division, and it's a much more level headed broadcast.
they gushed over Rodgers

not sure what game they were watching. I don't really have a problem with them either way.
I was explaining to my coworker...

who is a huge U of Michigan fan, that Sunday was like all three of her season losses in one, except that Rick Mirer was calling the game.

this may sound unoriginal but man, Buck IS annoying as hell to me. He's not the worst in the world but he definitely does bug me doing football games, baseball not so much.
Newsflash:

Fans of every team, including the Cowboys, believe Buck and Aikman hate their team and have something against them.
Buck has an irritating way...

...of inserting the off-the-field and non-x/o stuff that they work on with the production types into the broadcast. Every time he does it my skin crawls, regardless of whether or not it's the Gmen or the opposition.

Right. Bill Burr had a podcast or something years ago where he had Collinsworth as a guest and he said the same thing that people come up to him in person and everyone thinks he hates their team and has a personal agenda against them.

I just loathe Buck for a number of reasons and I don't think it is his imaginary Giants hate, it's just his voice is annoying and he reminds me too much of a lot of douchebags whom I can't stand over the years. Something about him and the way he calls the games and the way he acts, it's just the same exact thing as if he were calling a game in 2002. Just have grown to think he's a bit annoying and babbles a lot ...He's definitely talented enough to have a job on a professional level though and it could be worse one day without him. Just maybe an overexposure. Lastly, he's one of those guys who knows a lot of people don't like him for whatever reason and he just douches it up even more.
I think they are even-handed
SomeFan : 1/11/2017 9:32 am : link
In fact, I think Buck is unbiased in how he calls games. Troy is too but recently seemed to get more emotion into his views but still fine. I like that they are one of the few broadcasting teams that will focus on a bad call by an official. Simms, for example, rarely will say anything about a bad call or will give it a very cursory mention and that is infuriating.

I think his whiny little bitch overreaction to the Moss "fake moon" is what kinda did it for me when I tried to be a contrarian and give him a shot when everyone screamed and claimed how much they hated Buck.
Also, it is hard for me to dislike the Buck/Aikman team

Maybe I don't pick up on it as frequently, but to me it seems like he only does that when the game gets out of hand. Calling a blowout and trying to find any excuse to keep the audience from changing the channel is not easy.
It's pretty hilarious

The cast of imbeciles right here on BBI that don't like Joe Buck are the types that make me love the guy. Funny to see it's not a localized issue.

So apparently Joe Buck hate everyone!!!!!!
They are annoying
moespree : 1/11/2017 11:08 am : link
Joe Buck says "no flags" about 100 times a game and after every play that is at least a 5 yard gain.

And everything is a "heck of a" moment for Aikman. "A heck of a throw", "A heck of a catch", "A heck of a run", "A heck of a tackle", "A heck of a stop", "A heck of a call", "A heck of a kick", "A heck of a play", "A heck of a game".

They suck.
Buck and Aikman
teso56 : 1/11/2017 11:09 am : link
I dont get it - I think these guys are objective - and I think that is why everyone thinks they hate their team. Because they gush over everyone equally.
Aikman has been more than fair to Eli over the years - especially during the Super Bowl runs. Buck can say some annoying things but he is very observant and a solid play by play guy. They had high praise for Rodgers - and lets face it rightfully so.

And Aikman was critical of Beckham - and lets face it, rightfully so as well...

These guys are fine...
I'm a Joe Buck fan
mfsd : 1/11/2017 11:17 am : link
I grouse about Aikman at times when he takes time to point out a non-call against a Giants defender, but rarely ever comments on what DBs get away with defending OBJ. Which is admittedly a very Giants-homer opinion, guilty as charged. Aikman is better than 95% of analysts out there. Listening to those 2 schlubs who did our game against Cleveland this year made it clear there are far worse than Buck and Aikman out there.

I've always been a big Collinsworth fan, I love a guy who isn't afraid to be critical or offer an unpopular opinion, and I find he's usually knowledgeable enough to back his opinions up.

His recent shot at Bill Simmons was awesome IMO
We should have

started one a few years ago. Both those guys don't even seem to hide their disdain for the NYFG; although, I must admit, this recent game was the most unbiased presentation they made on NYFG, almost ever.
I guess Packers fans got a taste of what we've lived with since that pairing, and are just too soft to deal with it.
Wimps!

They only did Super Bowl XLII. XLVI was NBC. Even so, Buck isn't actually that bad, Aikman is though.
Buck's Twitter Account Bio..

Has a quip that reads, "I Love All Teams EXCEPT Yours"... which I think is kind of funny and of course speaks to the point that everyone thinks he hates their team.

In fact just Google "Joe Buck" or "Joe Buck bias" and you'll see lots of examples of whinny fans who thinks he hates their team...including fans of both the Cubs and the Indians from last years WS.
I always wondered

if other fans do the Buck/Aikman obsession thing, and I guess I have my answer!

I heard a Simmons podcast with Collinsworth, who said he now answers the "Why do you hate my team?" question with, "I don't know, I just do."
moon
Simms : 1/11/2017 1:11 pm : link
We all have moments howling at the moon.

When we lost to the Jets in 1988, did not turn on a TV, Radio, or read a paper for a month.

Losing in the playoffs to the Niners was a close second on the FG fiasco.
Aikman
area junc : 1/11/2017 1:22 pm : link
got worse this year, IMO. He's hook, line & sinker with Dak mania.
I wish for announcers to hate our team
BlackLight : 1/11/2017 1:30 pm : link
That way, when we win, it's doubly entertaining listening to them try to do their jobs while choking back the tears and bile.
Many cowboy fans dislike aikman
LatHarv83 : 1/11/2017 2:30 pm : link
And view him as their own personal tiki barber. The only difference is he has Super Bowls and that cushions the hate. I find it funny when Giants fans think he's Mr cowboy homer. Fans constantly project their own biases onto others. Everyone thinks the announcer hates their team. It's comical really

I like Buck. I think he is good at what he does. I think a lot of people are predisposed not to like him though. His dad is who he is, and even the hint of a nepotism advantage rubs everyone who doesn't come from such privilege the wrong way. It's not that much different than being the boss's son. No one likes that guy. Of course there are obvious differences, but it's a similar dynamic
