NFT: ANY advice on where to find the best HDTV deals?

blueblood : 1/11/2017 10:16 pm
Im looking for some kind of smart TV around 50-55 inches. Ive looked around and have seen a lot of different prices. In you guys experience who tends to have the better deals on TV's. So far it seems from where I have looked that Walmart has good prices. Costco (im a member) selection seems very slim.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance
I vote Costco

You can grab a non-4K TV for pretty cheap these days. I recall seeing a name-brand 50" for roughly $500.

Prices have come down a lot over the decade. In 2010, I bought a 55" LCD for $900 and a 54" Plasma (RIP) for $1,300.

for a lot of bells and whistles and don't care if it isn't a samsung or LG or something like that, this is a really good deal, has good reviews too

Slickdeals.net hot deals forum is your best bet for things like this, thats where i found this. I didn't buy as i don't need one but under 300 for a 55" insignia with good reviews is a great deal

49" Smart UHD 4K tv from Best buy for 649. The 55" is $749.

Hard to beat for the quality of tv.
Crutchfield's

Best Buy beat Crutchfield on the 49" price and matched BB on the 55" Samsung.

you know you'll get a great price, and you know they'll have your back if there's a problem.
Rakuten

is great. No sales tax or shipping fees. Get your TV in 2 days. Great prices since they work out of a warehouse instead of a retail outlet or store

Search engine lets you search by size, brand, type, price range, etc., which is important because they carry about 2000 televisions

Might be worthwhile to wait a bit.

Agree, from what I've red in the past when I was looking. Pre Superbowl is the best time to buy, lots of deals. Some of the links in this post are probably part due to that.

why a smartTV?

My daughter bought a smartTV, figuring she could piggy back on my hbo, showtime, fios account. She's finding the smartTV feature is basically worthless and will be purchasing a Roku, appleTV, etc soon. Seems the providers are just not bothering to invest the money in supporting all these tv manufacturer's platforms but are supporting the boxes.

Everything is a smart TV now. Any TV without them is probably an aftermarket type company.

Mine is mounted above the fireplace and i don't run cable to it, just use it for Netflix and HBOGo and its perfectly fine streaming 4k content.

nice input, the guy is probably trying to save money and you recommend the top of the line technology. Sage advice as always.

Next time I start a car thread on something that has no frills, i'll await your Tesla input.
They sell TVs now
NoPeanutz : 1/12/2017 3:11 pm : link
with Roku built in (called RokuTV). Excellent interface, they work very well, and you'll save $60 because you dont have to buy a Roku.
