In Green Bays contract expires after this season. Word is he is wants to be an OC,but not in Green Bay. They like Edgar Bennett. If he doesn't snag a College job could be just what Mac needs and Experienced guy who understands this system.
Is that the same Tom Clements whose stint calling plays... Â
be fired , it would be Solari. I'm not rooting for him to be. He's a talented coach but he must do better. Flowers played better last season with s high-ankle sprain than he did this year .

Did you want to fire Spags after last season, too?
Was not as broken as people think. COuld it be better? Yes. But look at games where players failed to execute. WR's dropped TD's. Running Backs fumbled the football. All of this is not on a coordinator. How many long/gains did OBJ drop? A lot. If players executed things are different.

Didn't Shaun O'Hara state about 6 games into the season that Flowers is the type of player that gets coach's fired. Last year and now this year another under the microscope. I guess its the coach's and not the player. Right? Flowers sucks so far and his resume is about 30+ games and somehow we think he is going to suck less with a new coach.
play calling was limited because we couldn't run the ball......it was limited, because we didn't have talent at TE......it was limited, because we had no blocking FB....it was limited, because we didn't have that second wide out threat.....it was limited because our best RB, was a rookie, who took time to assimilate to the system, and there really wasn't anything behind him that was better.....it was limited because this OL could not convert 3rd and short, or provide enough protection for Eli to scan the field...
So yes, while we do question some of the play calling, they were only playing with only half a play book....this made it easier for teams to plan defensively for the Giants, who let's face it, counted on OBj catching a 5 yard pass and taking it to the house....this offense never controlled the ball or time of possession......it couldn't.....
There are too many pieces that need to be replaced on this offense.....you almost have to laugh, when you hear we are only one or two players away from this offense coming together....
This OL is a complete mess....only in the last few seasons, has this team really attempted to fix it....and it has failed....we have drafted two high picks at Tackle...one is now playing guard, and I don't know what the hell you do with the other one.....we drafted a center, who took a huge step back this season.....the rest of the line is patchwork....I don't give the new OL coach a pass this season.....the line seemed to be better last year....he couldn't make Flowers a better LT, by improving his technique?
This team needs an infusion of talent on offense, especially play makers.....this offense has been a one trick pony for two seasons....you stop/contain OBj, and you stop this offense.....
Fix the line, get a TE that can block, a FB, a WR, a bruiser at RB, and then you can use the whole playbook.....
You can't fix everything, because we still have question marks on defense, like JPP, Hankins, FS position, the need for a stud linebacker....
So once again, Reese has to step up to the plate again, but this time he doesn't have the luxury of 200M to play with...
McAdoo stubbornly refuses to move him out. However, Reese could be fired if he doesn't figure a way to move him out of LT and replace him with Pugh or a Free Agent.
The importance of having a guy who understands the Offense Â
on the staff and in the booth is tremendous. Having that voice in the headset with the coach and working on game planning would allow the Head Coach a breather, even though I think Mac calls the plays here on out. With his contract up and him 63 I can see where he is not ready to quit yet and would be a good booth guy.
Giants O was very limited. They had to run the 11 personnel over 90% of the time because that was their best package. It became easy to defend them. Just look to the scoreboard as we didn't score over 20 points since Week 12 against the Browns.
Get a FB and incorporate him into the offense. Improve the TE. Improve the outside WR opposite Beckham. Cut Jennings and upgrade his spot at RB. Most importantly, improve the OL as aggressively as you improved the DL last year.

They had the same OL in 15 when Eli had one of his best seasons. And this season they had the worst. Thats coaching and adjustments

On the other hand, Jim Fassel did something similar to Sean Payton, and look where their careers went.
BTW, Clements outranks Bennett.
B- Has any desire to surrender playcalling
Did you want to fire Spags after last season, too?
Months ago you said he was an asshole.
But, again, unless Mac is willing to give up the play calling...what's the point?

Pretty clear Flowers regressed BIG time.
