Jim, I believe that horse left the barn a while ago. Even though it is still only a perception held by some NFL fans, that perception is definitely out there. It's part of the equation when it comes to ratings being down.

Did anyone see that Holding Call against Seattle yesterday that changed that whole game?
Need a GB win so I can enjoy the rest of the playoffs with ease Â
Sure Rodgers is a little smug but come on, the Cowboys not even getting to the NFC Championship game is light years better than Green Bay winning 3 Lombardis in a row.

He's a lot smug and I can't stand him..Fuck him..Even if the Cowboys got to the SB, Brady and Belichick will take care of them..It's all about championships and almosts and the Cowboys will end up going 22-23 years without a title..Add that to that 56/57 years for the Eagles and 26 years for the Redskins..For ME? Not sure what you guys are talking about - the punt? Even if you didn't think there was a D hold at the line, which was certainly debateable, the refs missed an obvious hold at the beginning of Hester's return
is the on factor I'm concerned with. It looks like the rain will hold off until the second half and I'm not sure how heavy it will be. The forecast looks to be better than it was two days ago. I have Packers +4.5 and thinking over 51.5. Any thoughts?
But I'll be rooting like hell for the opposite.
And then I'll be pulling for ATL to take out whoever advances.
I think whoever wins this game is going to the SB, though.
Rooting like hell for GB also, arc, and gut tells me that joe and Rick are right: Dallas OL and running game too high a mountain to climb for GB.
+ Rodgers is just so damned entertaining when he is hot, fun to watch when he's not hot against your team
agree with you, I think: that hold at the line by #58 Seattle LB was very much the same type of hold EF got called for a couple of times this season, grabbing the defender by the shoulder pads/jersey and pulling him down and underneath, punctuated by landing on him

Here's a thought: the game's being played in a dome.

I'm OK with that play, but I think the NFL is inconsistent with how they call it. How many times have we seen them call the play dead when there is no threat to the QB?
I'd rather have Atlanta beat GB in the NFC championship game and Atlanta play the Chiefs in the SB. No Dallas, No Pittsburgh, No New England. That would be the most enjoyable playoff scenario for me now that the GMen are out.

And apparently 2 unsportsmanlike conducts and you get ejected. But you don't get ejected for 2 personal fouls as we saw with Boldin vs Seattle. So you can pick up all the personal fouls you want and you are fine, but if you just did what number 19 on Dallas did with that huddle confusion twice you are out? OK. Perfect sense.
Also what's up with the packers having a McCarthy twin over his shoulder all the time. So bizarre
Did anyone see the jerruh interview on NFL network this weekend? He said if Dak doesn't have it they have the best backup in the NFL on the bench this weekend.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw romo today
So we looking at a two score lead by GB at half? I mean Dak looks terrible already.
I'm at a family gathering and the game is on mute.
too many in huddle
Actually it was a player in the huddle who then did not participate in the play because he was subbed out after being in the huddle. That is a 15 yard Unsportsmanlike Conduct foul.

That the Dallas player number 19 will be ejected if that huddle thing happens a second time, but you can rough the passer or commit as many personal fouls as you want without ejection? Is that not completely ass backwards?

A little wide-eyed on the sideline. This will get very interesting in the second half if Dallas is behind and Dak is not playing well....will they go to little Tony?
it's fun to root for Rodgers, painful to think that we held them in check for so long. Next year we give Eli one more second per pass, and we have receivers who aren't over-amped in the playoffs.
if Rodgers was the QB for my favorite team. Lucky bastards.
while i don't disagree, i bet there's about 25+ teams that feel the same way about us and Eli the last decade
18-20 actually. The good news is 25+ want our guy come playoff time - like Dallas fans today. I would warm up romo right now.
fair enough, but i'd still take that. we may not have a once in a generation guy like Rodgers, but after the 15 years we endured between Simms and Eli, it's nice to be able to have a true franchise QB that's also gone to the promised land multiple times.
If Dallas's defense doesn't start slowing Green Bay down, there's no point in putting Romo back there. If he gets hurt, then he's worthless as trade bait.

Certainly not the only guy sucking out there but they will need 30 points to win this game and I don't think he looks up to the task.
RE: Boy they are letting Dallas hold on Offense and Defense in this game Â
stuff is BS. It's 14-3 and the Packers are passing instead of just running a balanced offense. You attack a teams weakness and for the Cowboys it's their pass defense.
Saying Eli is an above average qb somewhere in the 12-16 range who elevates his play in the postseason to top 6-8 was not 'tripe' - it's actually consensus.
So take your fathead and crawl back under the rock from which you came, nobody.

been an acrobatic diving catch when he's wide open. Just lay it in, in stride, and it's an easy TD
the 2nd one was still an easy catch by Shepard, but he underthrew it which caused Shepard to stop, twist his body and come back for it with a defender closing in.
Again, 2 catches that could've/should've been made, but 2 instances where simply hitting a guy in stride probably makes the difference

Maybe, perfect passes would have been caught. But they should have been caught no question in my mind. I thought Eli came out looking real good early last week. TD would have made all the difference maybe.
Oh well.
harder to be pinpoint in cold temps outside. These are also perfect conditions.

It helps a lot that Rodgers is the best in the world at getting away from the pass rush and also has a top 5 pass block offensive line.
When you have a pocket QB, the same rules don't apply.

Well one thing is clear you don't know shit about football but you are 1st ballot HOF with the personal insults...
With Aaron Rodgers. I'll take it. The Cockboys will have to keep blitzing and it's just a matter of time before AR makes them pay. Need the Pack
D to hold up for a few more series and need the Pack special teams to play well.

I don't know anything about you to opine on your value (more likely lack there of). I have noticed your attempts at humor fail on a routine basis. Must be lonely.
it still baffles me that tehre are people who believe he isnt better than tom brady or peyton manning.
He throws the ball as good as they do/did, with the added mobility element. He's up there im my mind
I really really disagree.
If we're talking about pure "throwing", Rodgers is simply in a universe of his own of the three. Its not even that he can make the rheotrical "every throw in the game". its his uneblievable accuracy under pressure. hsi ability to throw on the run. His ability to throw laser beams and then on the next play put a surgical strike with a ton of air under the ball. Its just unbelievable. His throw against the jaguars here is dumbfounding.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POdoUNkbf5g
in terms of overall QB play, you can make "arguments" for any of the three of course, because for instance Manning was by far the most accurate passer in between the hashes that i have ever seen.
Picture all those front running fucker cowboys fans who crawl out of the woodwork.
15 minutes to go before Rodgers sends them back into their fucking hole
On the Michael, ex Boy for a day, snafu.
And the no flags on Dallas D all game.
And 'rebel': been wondering that for years. Maybe that's why NFL hates us. We won 2x, even with their BS flags, we jumped the script.
but I would like to kick Jason Garrett in the balls and as he bends over in excruciating pain, I'd like to bury my knee in his Howdy Doody fucking face turning it into ground chuck.

they can point back to the 3rd and 14 soft coverage and the 3rd down "pass interference" call. and Rodgers's INT.
That 3rd down defensive call needs to be put on tape and shown to every D Coord in the league on what you don't do with a short field and a 3rd and 14.
Makes us Giant fans realize the great need to improve our o-line and how desperately we need more weapons on offense. When three of your five eligible receivers are Tye,Cruz and Jennings, that's beyond pathetic.

Eli has always been at his best with a dependable TE and RB who can catch the ball consistently.
insane to me and the zebras turn it into a fucking possible game winning play. All we will hear about now is how great he is. He was looking dominant, but has played like crapfor most of the second half.
I wouldn't let Mike McCarthy near my football team. Maybe it isn't him, but this shit happens way too much to GB in the playoffs. And people forget that he almost blew the super bowl, but for a Mendanhall fumble the Steelers would have won
Fuck Jerry Jones, fuck Jason Garrett, fuck their bandwagon fans, fuck that city and FUCK that PITA Jason Witten. As great as he is, may he never sniff a Super Bowl.
Rodgers is ridiculous. Amazing QB. He may or may not be an asshole, but I wouldn't make that call based on his relationship (or lack of one) with his parents as a poster or two did earlier on this thread. Without knowing anything about the dynamics of their fall out, I'd tend to think his dad is a douche just based on the fact that he's taking these interviews. He doesn't have to talk to the media and air all of this stuff out publicly. Perplexes me how someone could come down on Rodgers given that aspect alone
Rooting for the falcons next week just because I'd rather not see Green Bay pass the Giants in Super Bowls
The Refs Boned every team they played and yet we beat them
twice Playoff pretenders One and Done as bad as our loss
to the Packers felt , This certainly takes the sting off
from our early exit . I still feel we would have swept them
but this Packer Team and The great Aaron Rodgers have earned
it .

I guess... but do you have an example of the cowboys getting an exorbitant number of advantages this season? or is this just typical bogey man "the league loves the cowboys" stuff.... As someone who hates them as much as anyone I'm on cloud 9 right now, but the drumbeat of conspiracy theories is a bit silly and way overdone. Also flies in the face of all logical evidence

if you look at skins schedule vs cowboys schedule. skins had 2 away games on short rest (4 days and 5 days). 4 day away game was against a division foe. cowboys shortest rest was 6 days. of course hosting a thanksgiving game every year is an advantage.
A run on 3rd down eliminates the chance for Rodgers to do what he just did.
First off he went for the TD and win. I'd rather my coach play to win than not to lose.
Secondly, what makes you think the pack wouldn't have called a TO if Dallas did run there?
Last, I'm pretty sure the Pack finished the game with one TO still in their pocket.
Dallas fans seem to be bemoaning the spike on first down more than the pass on third down and I agree. GB was staggering. And there is no need to give away the down when you are still at risk of giving Rodgers too much time to come back.

Schedules are fetermined by last year's record pretty close to the same sled as the Giants, stop with the nonsense.

I agree with you about the spike but that wasn't mentioned in the post I quoted. I only disagreed about playing it safe and running on 3rd down. I didn't mind the pass there at all.

It was 3rd and 3 w about 36 seconds left. I think there's a good chance to pick up a 1st down on the ground in that spot behind that OL. If you do, Cowboys control their own destiny. Spike on 1st, 2 shots to the end zone, kick the FG.
If they don't convert, they have 30 sec to set up the FG. If GB calls a TO they have 1 left. More time off the clock regardless, and the game clinching catch was made w 3 seconds on the clock.
At the end of the day I don't give a shit, but from an objective fan perspective I think it was bad clock mgmt by Garrett.

RE: going for the win, that would carry more weight if they were running routes into the end zone. They weren't. They had a guy out in the flat for extra yardage and Dak ended up targeting Witten (I think) in the middle of the field for a conversion/shorter FG. To me it looked like a safe, potentially move the chains pass play. Not a going for a TD and the win pass play. If that's the case, a run would've been more optimal.

Looking forward to a good game though and hopefully the refs don't screw it up...

+ Rodgers is just so damned entertaining when he is hot, fun to watch when he's not hot against your team
Agreed. Either way, watching Dallas lose OR Rodgers lose will be fun.
Win/Win
Thoughts?
Here's a thought: the game's being played in a dome.
Wut?
GB will win big!
Sean Lee would've caught him.
amen.
Also what's up with the packers having a McCarthy twin over his shoulder all the time. So bizarre
too many in huddle
unsportsmanline penalty on dallas WR. Went into huddle, then didnt participate in play.
I wouldn't be surprised if we saw romo today

So we looking at a two score lead by GB at half? I mean Dak looks terrible already.

Actually it was a player in the huddle who then did not participate in the play because he was subbed out after being in the huddle. That is a 15 yard Unsportsmanlike Conduct foul.
“It’s complicated,” he said on responding to people who inquire about his estranged son. “We’re all hoping for the best.”

typing one handed. need to be concise
That foul doesn't count to 2 and DQ
Smh
They would probably call offensive pass interference in that case
Pack score a TD boys are screwed. Not built to play catch up.
You're judging a football player on his personal relationships.
I see why TMZ does such good business.
Yes. Not all unsportsmanlike trigger that rule
key ..he has the legs to move around/run..buys himself time
TD!
Rodgers though completes the next one to Adams. He's on fire. Packers really putting it to Dallas. Juggernaut.
Also makes me appreciate how well the Giants D contained Rodgers in the first half.
Rodgers vs Ryan for NFC Championship next week.
Loving it!!!
With a D!
while i don't disagree, i bet there's about 25+ teams that feel the same way about us and Eli the last decade
we will see Romo
Imagine going from favre to rodgers?
I wonder if they would consider Romo @ 21 - 3.

18-20 actually. The good news is 25+ want our guy come playoff time - like Dallas fans today. I would warm up romo right now.

Not fair at all. Hopefully we get that lucky to replace someone as good as Eli. Like, extremely lucky.

fair enough, but i'd still take that. we may not have a once in a generation guy like Rodgers, but after the 15 years we endured between Simms and Eli, it's nice to be able to have a true franchise QB that's also gone to the promised land multiple times.
Certainly not the only guy sucking out there but they will need 30 points to win this game and I don't think he looks up to the task.
Right?
Don't get me wrong he's great but his teammates are making plays for him too...

It sure is nice for a QB to have receivers who don't drop passes
The score of next week's game might be 115-98.
I will root big for the Falcons next week.
we will see Romo tonight.
He will likely get sacked and injured on the first drive. But, he will play.
Good point, but how much practice has he gotten this week, with the first team?
What I wouldn't give for a player like that to be picked by the Giants in the lower rounds.
it is insane
Absolutely!!!
this would be the only entertaining game even with a blowout..esp with it being the Packs doing it.
They other, imo, would be a chiefs blowout of steelers too
Saying Eli is an above average qb somewhere in the 12-16 range who elevates his play in the postseason to top 6-8 was not 'tripe' - it's actually consensus.
So take your fathead and crawl back under the rock from which you came, nobody.
They could hang 40 tonight .....
I could see Dallas coming back but it better start now .
Attack their weakness and lean on your strength!!
stomach this puke
pack could have broke their back with a stop and score there
Again
haha
What?
I must have forgotten that play. Remember the key drops though.
Pretty sure he did.. more than once. And the WR's dropped the passes.
Get the feeling they'll get it to 21-17 somehow; for the advertisers.
And on cue, a dumb return decision.
the 2nd one was still an easy catch by Shepard, but he underthrew it which caused Shepard to stop, twist his body and come back for it with a defender closing in.

Good Lord.

I'm guessing he's a big ol' Frowny Face right now

15 minutes to go before Rodgers sends them back into their fucking hole

I just said the same thing myself!! Pack have to hold them to 3 here... or another t.o. ;-}
I've noticed Adams doesn't play hard on every down. He's got some plaxico in him.
That was terrible

One of the dumbest defensive calls I have seen in such a huge spot
Dallas scores easy now.
My thought exactly.
And that was a stupid PI by Gunter.
dallas has an OLine, run game, and a TE.
jet lag
Rodgers needs to piece together a drive here.
Our offense is that bad.
PI wasnt questionable. It was obvious.
Time for rodgers to win this. he has been quiet for nearly 3 quarters barring 1 drive. Plus the INT was as bad as it gets.
Yep. All really stupid shit that let Dallas back in the game.
And the no flags on Dallas D all game.
And 'rebel': been wondering that for years. Maybe that's why NFL hates us. We won 2x, even with their BS flags, we jumped the script.
I usually defend Buck and Aikman, but he was off the chain on that call.
Buck can't contain himself when something happens that makes Troy happy.
Very bad. Plus our all-pro WR decided not to show up.
I'm wondering if #17 even saw the ball, looked like a possible TD to me. He was wide open. I'm mystified by what was going on with #17.
No they're not.
Don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel. :-)
Game over.
The NFL loves injuries. More commercials and money in the coffers.
That 3rd down defensive call needs to be put on tape and shown to every D Coord in the league on what you don't do with a short field and a 3rd and 14.
It was like he was clueless on the situation
Packers that is.
+1
Hopefully that 2pt conversion was the highlight of the Cowboys and their fans day.
Yeah man, I think that int was on #17. Seems like he didn't see the ball??
Awesome leader with swagger. Love it.
Cruz pathetic?? lay off the pipe.
Rodgers just chucked it up for grabs
LUCKY
Eli has always been at his best with a dependable TE and RB who can catch the ball consistently.
GB needs another first down.
DA
FUK
UP
unreal
the refs decided this game
that might be the most bias call in NFL history
Rodgers is the luckiest player in the NFL
wow
dallas has all their timeouts left
Must burn Aikman to say that... why are the Cowboys fans booing the ball being backed up?
They've had plenty not called on them.
it is funny it is happening to the Cowboys, I love it. But who did Rodgers sell is soul too. That should have been a brutal decision and INT
Quote:
If this is PI on the Cowboys, that's a game ender.

Yeah, but if the Pack make a FG, I'd say the Cowboys' chances of winning with no timeouts is 3%.
Didn't count on them spotting the penalty at the 35 though.
looked just like something we'd do in that spot this year lol
I'd punt this
lot of time for Dallas, even for a TD.
insane to me and the zebras turn it into a fucking possible game winning play. All we will hear about now is how great he is. He was looking dominant, but has played like crapfor most of the second half.
win or lose terrible play calling after the PI
He just made a play.
He now has made a grand total of 1 play in this game.
No I switched my video service from Optimum to Sony Playstation Vue and I think the feed is a few seconds behind almost everyone else
Go Pack go!
That would be awesome. Rip out the Dallas' fans hearts.
I didn't... but I'm still wondering how that PI call was spotted at the 35. The ref who threw the flag was at the 5!
If they don't pick up the first, there's still 30 seconds to set up the FG. If they do, they clock it on 1st and control the rest of the game.
and he just drilled Rodgers.
Big mitts

The contact was at the 35 the ball was thrown around 10 more yards, but it's a spot foul so it goes where the foul happened. At the 35.
I want a good TE!
For us, fuck these teams.

Not sure Packers defense will stop Atlanta at all. It might be 45-42 final..
Yep.

if you look at skins schedule vs cowboys schedule. skins had 2 away games on short rest (4 days and 5 days). 4 day away game was against a division foe. cowboys shortest rest was 6 days. of course hosting a thanksgiving game every year is an advantage.

Dallas fans seem to be bemoaning the spike on first down more than the pass on third down and I agree. GB was staggering. And there is no need to give away the down when you are still at risk of giving Rodgers too much time to come back.

Secondly, what makes you think the pack wouldn't have called a TO if Dallas did run there?
Last, I'm pretty sure the Pack finished the game with one TO still in their pocket.
