Great balance and power! Often JUST WON'T GO DOWN! Very good vision, patient. Excellent ball security. Some agility. Not that quick, but quick enough, and has a 2nd gear in the open field and can outrun DB's.
Predicted 3rd-5th round. This looks like a pretty good RB draft with more than a couple decent prospects with NFL size and ability. I've always believed that drafting into the strength of a draft offers good value.
The Giants need lots of stuff, some of which will be addressed at FA. But one of those is more pop at RB. The Giants need more play makers on offense, and RB is one of them. This guy might be a good fit if he dovetails with other Giants needs.

3 more good RB's! Which I think kinda confirms my thought that this might be a good draft for RB's. I'm not entirely sold on Hunt, but like Williams and Hill very well. Maybe Hill a little more as I'm a little concerned about Williams' exposure with those long legs, and I think Hill be prove an exceptional value. I certainly wouldn't be unhappy with either Williams or Hill though.

Good question! But I don't know enough about him.
He missed some time with injuries and then split time with Mixon.
Day 3 guy.
His production in 2014 was one of the all time greats by a freshman...but it's been cut a lot because he simply had more talent around him the past two years. Including Joe Mixon...who is a much better prospect but will have to fight the off-field video if him punching a woman a few years ago.
Agreed, very talented. And while I'm not the moral's police, given the problems that have occurred in the NFL, such as with the Giants' own Josh Brown, I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole!
I've watched some more video of Hill since your endorsement and noticed two things I really like: he's a very smart runner, and makes great choices. And he finishes every run like every RB should! And so few do.

Sy, do you like Conner any better?
Oh, come on!
She's a kid he outweighs by 100lb who gives him a slight push, and TINY slap, so he knocks her unconscious with a right cross?
Yeah, let's stick him in the N.Y. sports media fishbowl with a couple hundred thousand dollars and access to all the booze, drugs and women he can find, and I'm sure it will all end very well.
What about De'Veon Smith? Looks like a decent power back.
Quote:
He is a guy that can be in a committee backfield approach. Pretty good inside runner, really good blocker. Better hands than his 40 career receptions would lead you to believe. He can do a lot of things. Just doesn't have the speed you want, lacks quickness, agility, loose hips. I don't see him as a dominant inside power runner in the NFL, and his movement ability is pretty average.

I do.
One of the top LTs next year

Not a fan. No burst at all, IMO

I do.
Thanks, Sy!
I've not watched a bunch of either, but part of my amateur assessment is that Conner looks a good deal more polished. (And obviously faster.) But I await your more comprehensive evaluation in the fullness of time ;-)

Mixon is absolutely draftable. What he did was horrible. But he was assaulted by that young woman first. That doesn't make his response right at all, but context matters somewhat, too. This happened several years ago, and he paid the price. I don't see why you wouldn't draft a talent like him IF he is a better person today than he was when he hit that woman, and from what I've seen he's not that guy anymore, to the best of my knowledge, which isn't saying much about this specific situation.

She provoked him, he responded in a despicable fashion. In no way am I excusing his actions. But his actions occurred a long time ago. People have done worse and played in the NFL. If he's not considered a character risk now, and I trust the Giants to do their homework on who he is today, then yes, play for NY. People are capable of giving 2nd chances.
I don't know that anything is wrong with Perkins. I haven't seen enough of him playing in the NFL yet to say for certain, but it looks like he's going to be a really good RB.
But while he's plenty tough and has lots of guts, he's just not built to take a consistent pounding between the tackles. He needed to subbed out after completing some runs as he was obviously hurting. Jennings is marginally OK, but I'm not sure he isn't on the downside of his career.
A quality bigger back is a great asset for any team. A really good bigger RB can make the difference between winning and losing. They can convert short yardage and move the chains, they can make the difference between 3 points and 7. And if they can also turn in some long plays, they can be play makers.
This looks to be a good draft for RB's. And there happens to be several RB's who fit those criteria. In an offense that needs more play makers, they're certainly not irrelevant, and not even a luxury.

I don't think we need another Perkins type, lets just give him the ball. The grass is not always greener.

I like Conner from Pitt., hope he falls a bit.
I have been on the Conner bandwagon.
