Jimmy Graham?

ThatLimerickGuy : 1/17/2017 5:49 pm
This mongo called Francesca a little while ago and said that there was a rumor that the Giants were looking to trade for Graham. Has anyone ever heard of such a rumor or was this guy talking out of his ass?
obviously
DinDC : 1/17/2017 5:54 pm : link
we need to hear from the Midwest Gay Club Scene insiders for confirmation.
Sheesh, the guy is 30 already? Where
Big Blue '56 : 1/17/2017 5:56 pm : link
has the time gone?

In answer to the question, this is the first I'm hearing about this
Jimmy's contract is currently $10 million
JohnF : 1/17/2017 5:58 pm : link
And he wasn't very productive in Seattle. Coming off of an injury, 30 years old...I'd pass. We can do better in the draft.
Wouldn't it be a tad early for personnel rumors?
The_Boss : 1/17/2017 5:59 pm : link
Both franchises are in "2016 year in review" mode. Reese is at the East/West Shrine practices. I highly doubt they've even begun to pinpoint anything beyond the 53 man roster and the handful of guys they signed to Future's contracts.

Guy was likely talking out of his ass.
The rumor would be much
GmeninPSL : 1/17/2017 6:03 pm : link
worse if it were Otto Graham.
Yes
Jumbo : 1/17/2017 6:08 pm : link
Seahawks could save the 10 mil they owe him in the final year of his contract in cap space if they release him. If they do I'd give him a call.
Depends
Koffman : 1/17/2017 6:32 pm : link
On what we have to give up for him. Getting one of the best TE's in the league, Yes. Giving up a high draft pick for a 30 year old TE with a glass knee, No.
It s a young mans
joeinpa : 1/17/2017 6:39 pm : link
game. Giving up assets like draft picks for a 30 year old, not good business.
After ignoring the position for so long, not a fan of a band aid job
GloryDayz : 1/17/2017 6:46 pm : link
Graham is a good short term fix, at the right price. But the Giants need to sign a good young FA who figures to be a long term (4-5 contract) solution, or draft a potential stud.

LT for TE

He's still an elite talent at the position. Seattle simply hasn't figured out how to use him.

I'd love him on the Giants, but not at 10 mil per.

And when it comes out as being true? Will everyone who keeps bringing it up come here with their tail between there legs?

You do know that it is a widely reported story and not something I pulled out of thin air right?

Much more importantly, a lot of people here have a weird view on homosexuality to keep bringing it up. It's 2017. Get over it. Dude is still one of the top qbs to ever live.

Didn't they say the same thing about Tony Gonzalez?

We can do better in the draft? How many years ago did we draft Shockey? And we got rid of him......

But I do agree, he is too expensive to acquire......

I thought so too but every day someone else brings it up. Yet nobody mentions the same post where I talked about his fractured relationship with his family, and his girlfriend.

Why is that? Because a lot of the guys around here are legit weirdo homophobes. What started as a simple one off comment really revealed a lot about the 13 year old mentality of this group when it comes to gays.

You're such a joke. You forgot to mention that Bill2 poked several holes in your story, and you threw a tantrum. Nobody cares if he might be gay or not, it's just a story no one will believe for various reasons. Again, you brought up the story without prompt on two separate occasions. The story is important to you for some strange reason, meanwhile the majority of this board doesn't give a shit.

While coming off a big injury.
Giants could easily just draft Njoku from the U
xman : 1/18/2017 3:03 am : link
IF he is there in the first round. Problem solved with cost control
A rumor about the Giants trading for Graham
jcn56 : 1/18/2017 6:34 am : link
is pure stupidity, he gets paid a boatload in 17, no sense in trading away resources to pay top dollar for a guy who is unlikely to be kept retained.
It's a possibility
NikkiMac : 1/18/2017 6:38 am : link
Because I once read a Reese quote where he said when asked if he had any regrets on not taking a player who was there when we picked and his answer was Jimmy Graham so you never know .....

I say do it he's been underused of late and would be just what we need ....

No TE from the draft is going to be better than him please ..... him a vet LT and a guard then draft a big WR and a beast running back and we are set on offense .... the Giants first pick of the draft should be a pass rusher or LB .......
pass.
Victor in CT : 1/18/2017 8:27 am : link
30. Injured, big $$. No thanks

Right on Cue. My favorite stalker. You are 10 for 10 this month in following me around.

You do realize I am not the one who keeps bringing up this dumb story every day right?

It's just strange how a story from 3 years ago that I mentioned 2x over the course of 2 years keeps getting brought up. There is one thing that is different about this story than every other story mentioned here. What is it? That's my point. Some weird dudes here.

Leave it alone already.

sound like a Reese move? Not to me. Sounds like a fan read a rag web report from some fan like Flounder and got carried away.

You're doubling down when you should just walk away from the blackjack table.

I'm not though. It keeps getting brought up, and not by me. I agree with you it's so stupid of a thing to keep talking about.
Never say never, depends on what the Giants
Section331 : 1/18/2017 12:29 pm : link
would have to give up. He doesn't fit what the Giants need in a TE in that he is a terrible blocker.

I don't think we need an all-world receiver at TE, just a guy who can force safeties to keep an him, and be able to block a lick.
